yeah friends in very high places, which makes alot of people very suspicious of them! I think that the fact there has been no “normal” press coverage, ie, no interviewing of neighbours, colleagues etc is what this forum is all about!

We don’t know the parents, except from the tv interviews. They may look strange, act strange, may be even suspicious, on the other hand they seem to have a lot of loyal friends. The Sangria 7 [as opposed to T9] never broke ranks with them. Their family is still loyal to them. No stories in the papers about what a terrible neighbours [or whatever] they are/were.
MrB [if I remember correctly] knows people from the place where they lived before moving to Rothley. These people seem to speak only nice things about them. Please correct me if my memory fails me, mrB.
So we think they were irresponsible/selfish/arrogant/negligent [and they were] but that doesn’t make them 103% bad parents.
I agree if Madeleine is still alive [and found] she’ll have a hard time dealing with what happened. And most probably never get over it.

Ok it is illegal and could be in trouble if it happens it is not the right child but why not risking it?

I reckon that pro-McCanners are just people that like to fly in the face of adversity! The kind of people that would argue black is white just to stand out from the crowd, hehe, sorry couldn’t resist, but also can’t understand their way of thinking when they support wholeheartedly ‘child neglectors’ and ’self-centred meglomaniacs’.
Obviously and only, my humble opinion. ;D

Yes, I can read Dutch and I also watched the video last night … so Sky News have a little delayed reaction here!
I agree with you that the young lady concerned doesn’t look like a hysterical teenager, she was quite calm and determined with her sighting. However, I do fear, that it’s another case of mistaken identity

Seriously though, Soothsayer could have been making a mountain out of a molehill. Say if Fr Jose had strict views about telling the truth and he was told (by someone he trusted) that the McCanns had been economical with the truth about sedation or the frequency of checks, that might well have been enough to turn him against them.
And what was CSN on about, saying the McCanns have tried to frame Fr Jose?
The McCanns have done no such thing.

It’s not breaking news. It has been on Dutch telly already [though it is a commercial channel with news presented as if every viewer is a 12yrs old].
You do read dutch, don’t you?
Melissa Firing from Nijmegen is convinced she saw Madeleine when she was on her way to Barcelona.
A friend, who was with her, said : “I know that girl, but I don’t know why” and Melissa [who knew about MM] said : “that’s Madeleine”. They walked to the girl and called her name. The man put on the childs coat and they left in a hurry.

They all ways have to pretend it’s breaking news or else the audience would find it boring.
One of our nextdoor neighbours worked for the Daily Wail (I always call it the Gaily Male, due to the massive number of times Gay gets in a headline) in the 90s. The Editor had an obsession with stories about Celebrity x and every few months they had to adapt some ancient bio and make it sound like an ‘EXPLOSIVE NEW REVELATION’. It was hell apparently.

My head is in a spin with all this! Pro mccs would argue that what evidence do we, the forum writers have that these fluids were actually found, as it was from sources, printed in the press. Yet they have been made suspects for a reason, so they must have something (i hope) on them. Yet there is, in my mind, lots of reasons to believe that there is some kind of cover up, which would not surprise me if maddie did turn up

If she had a set of decent parents, I’d hope, too, that it was Madeleine. Whatever, Madeleine’s fate, live or dead, her future’s screwed, I’m afraid. If alive, she will never have a normal or comfortable life, I think.
Of course, that’s just my sad opinion of things. I could very well be wrong and the McCanns are not the irresponsible and unfeeling creatures they come off as being.

The younger the children are the more embarrassing they can be in what they say unsolicited! Garth, they may say what was told over and over to them but they’ll still say other things that stay in their mind. One can’t stop a talking young child from saying things (laughingly saying that from experience). 18 months is not too young to say what they see or want. I can think of no children I’ve ever met who doesn’t talk and express themselves one way or the other vocally by 18 months. Having an older sibling for any child helps in their development of speaking also. Anyhow, didn’t those children go to play centers with other children around them? That in itself teaches young children how to talk and interact and react to that around them and be more vocal. Also, since both parents worked I presume the children had babysitters - they learn to talk and be expressive also from babysitters or child care centers working parents use. I’ll wager, Garth, those children saw or heard something happen to their sister by one of their parents they would have talked about it by now and more than once and to more than one person.

There is little any of us can do at the moment but just being here and letting everyone know how you feel and what you’re opinions are may help to stop this terrible injustice from being swept under the carpet. The powers that be will be monitoring this and other forums so if public opinion is strong enough then maybe justice will eventually prevail. I dont hold a grudge by the way Dee

I don’t bet, but I’m afraid the girl isn’t Madeleine.
On the other hand I hope it’s her because in that case she’s still alive, and if there’s life, there’s hope the police will find her.
It was at the tollway, btw, so they have to leave it by a “peage” and they’ve got camera’s over there too.

As RedRooster says, anything is possible, but it is unlikely, I think. I’d like to think the PJ are on the ball with their line of investigation and that the evidence they think they have is legitimate, including the biological evidence.
