Did you know that Gordon Brown took an insurance policy out on Madeleine McCann 2 weeks before she went missing and she was the ONLY child that went missing from that resort.
And that kidnappers were already in place before the McCanns went to the Tapas restaurant and the whole thing was staged to give the United States a Mandate to ignore Portugal???
She’s currently being held in a US Aircraft Carrier off the coast of Iran.

Re. the babysitting, I personally would not have employed a sitter that I did not know. I understand that they were the same as in the resort daytime creche, but in a private capacity it does not appeal at all. You must understand that I did not say that I would leave my children alone, but that in some way I can understand the ‘temptation’. But the appeal of an unknown individual in my children’s room does not tempt at all. Possibly irrational, but there you have it.
Re. the door, yes I agree, bizarre (certainly given hindsight). But then, if you would think it’s ok to leave them, safe enough to check them periodically etc etc, then presumably the assumption was that the regular checks would be sufficient.
I cannot account for/defend all their logic or actions, nor would I wish to; clearly they DID NOT get it right. I am merely stating my view.

I suspect given the same circumstances you would have booked a sitter just ONE to look after the children in one room, spread the cost between you and your friends, why did they alledgedly cancel a sitter booked for that night ?
If you had left your children on their own you would at least have locked the doors and windows IMO

But wasn’t the dog handler interviewed on the Sky News thing on Christmas Eve? Are you saying the cadaver dogs weren’t there, or that they were but their findings have been exaggerated? In the apartment that is, I never did believe in the Exeter stuff.

Sorry Garth, just noticed!
Its difficult for me to comment without assumption on the issue of the day of the third. I dont really know what they said happened, as the stories are insubstantial and change like mist blowing about in the wind.
I’ll say this though, it would have been too suspicious not to have tried to keep things as they had been up until that day - to say Madeleine was sick and in the apartment would have drawn too much attention (helpful pals). Any attempt to go out for the day - when tennis tournaments were planned etc would have drawn too much attention. No, I think it was the best thing to do, to try to make it all seem simple. Maybe they volunteered to take other peoples kids to the creche or wherever it was, so no one would be there to see if madeleine was with them and delivered also - the creche staff wouldnt have noticed a specific child in a group, they’d count heads and see parents. Easy to back out if anyone noticed and re-think. At that time, why would anyone be particularly carefully noting?
Regarding stranger abduction being more likely, I’d still go for the 3rd and quick thinking from the clever doctors before i accepted a negative as a proof of something for which means, motive, opportunity are yet to be identified to me.
If the PJ think it was an accident and they think it happened on 3rd, then maybe it did but earlier than we know. There is a dearth of photos and a missing original of the ‘last photo’ - which is a vital piece of missing evidence.
