Dr Matthew Oldfield, 37: An endocrinologist at Kingston Hospital, he worked with Gerry McCann in Leicester before moving to London with his wife Rachael. He checked on the McCann children at 9.30pm, but did not look to see if Madeleine was in her bed.
Rachael Oldfield, 36: Recruitment-consultant and mother of a 22-month-old daughter. She spoke for the first time last month to dismiss “hurtful and ludicrous” reports which suggested police had intercepted phone calls and emails between the McCanns and their friends which contradicted earlier statements they had given. She said: “They are throwing mud and we are not able to defend ourselves.”

I will repeat, the Keystone Cops in Portugal. No one on here can possibly say that they have done a good job from day one, they have been bungling idiots and are now trying to save face by inventing DNA and bodily fluids to impliment Kate and Gerry McCann in the so called ‘murder’ of their child. I also don’t believe that Madeleine had an ‘accident’ and they were so concerned with their own reputation that they ‘disposed’ of her body. These stories are straight from Hollywood. I think that you are all reasonably intelligent people who post on here, so I find it hard to believe that you are all taken in with such wild senarios. I strongly believe that Madeleine was abducted, by person or persons unknown and until the Portuguese police arrive at that conclusion she will never be found, because they are just not looking.

I have more compassion for Madeleine than you will ever know. My point is that everyone on here has absolutely no compassion for her parents. I agree. It would have taken a lot of courage to step forward to make a statement to the police, if it implicated the McCanns or any of his other friends, and was truthful. If he’s gone and done that, he does deserve a pat on the back and a congratulatory handshake.
