Says Melissa: “My friend and I had music playing loudly out of our mobile phones and this little girl was dancing to it. It was only when I looked closely at her I realised it was Madeleine. She had a very thin face and her blonde hair had been cut much shorter, down to her jaw. But it was her”
Why so certain?
“I looked in her eye because I’d seen on TV that Madeleine’s got a defect in her right iris and I saw this girl had it. I could hardly believe my eyes but I knew for sure it was Madeleine. I called out her name and she looked up at me - she obviously recognised it”
Obviously. Dancing with a small child and then you shout out a name and she looks at you…
“But when I called out ‘Madeleine’ the man she was with got worried and started dragging her away from the queue”
The man with Madeleine is described as a “dark-skinned man, who was possibly Algerian”. Blonde girl with dark-skinned man. Like her?
What did Melissa do when he was spotted, this swarthy man?
“As he dragged the girl away he threw a white coat over her and pulled a woollen hat from his pocket and jammed it on her head. Melissa adds: ‘He didn’t say a word but as they got to the door he prodded the girl in the back. I tried to take pictures on my phone but I only got one and it was all blurred. I ran outside after them but they’d vanished”

Hardly a word heard about Murat recently.
I did wonder if Ribeiro’s comments about the police having been hasty in making them arguidos might be a prelude to lifting the status, or a way of preparing the public for that. However, I’m much less sure now. No idea what might happen!

Contract March, yes that’s what I remember too.
The judge already extended the secrecy period of the investigation.
Mr Murats status as arguido is also extended [can't remember till when].
McCanns made arguido in september, 6 months period, so something has to happen in March imo.

That, and there have been many, many sightings.. To go to every one would be expensive, in time and in finance. and they have two kiddies at home. And that mortgage…
and I imagine they have to develop some emotional barriers to keep them sane.

Yes there are some points to agree on. Nevertheless it’s wiser imo to stay far far away from the blogs/forum gossips. Use the papers as a reference. And don’t just copy it [hmm] from e.g. the MF Madeleine Thread that’s closed now.
But hey, like he told me when I asked him to be more accurate and provide links/sources, like he should be used to in court: “Well, it’s not a court” [nov2007]

You can see videos without flying anywhere. The child wasn’t there for them to see. They would only have seen the same film, whether in Rothley or Montpellier. The police had already said unofficially that it wasn’t Madeleine.
I agree with you about what their lives must be like now, though.

I wonder the same. We haven’t seen much about them lately, have we? Maybe they are happier with the way Ms are working now? Wasn’t it mainly their lack of discretion and stupid, insensitive comments that they disliked so much?

And back to our old friend the Renault Scenic. Someone hires it, drives it wherever, along muddy roads, through a farmyward maybe, then they get a flat tyre. So they change the wheel and put the one with the flat tyre in the tyre-well, not really taking care to clean the flat tyre first.
Conclusion: Tyre wells get mucky. Just human nature when you have a flat tyre to change.
This somehow becomes “100% match to Madeleine” and “a clump of hair” and “cadaverine.” etc.
