Is Madeleine McCann Disappearing From The UK Press?
THE Anorak has been watching the media’s treatment of the Madeleine McCann story for some months.
The tragedy of a missing child was turned into a media feeding frenzy, a grim story with any gaps in the narrative plugged with speculation and voyeurism.
We were invited to become sleuths, armchair detectives working out who had done what and how. Nothing meaningful has been achieved by this. Madeleine McCann is missing.
Who cannot feel for those involved? Who would want to be them?
Now Anorak learns from a reader that the Madeleine McCann story may be disappearing from the British press, and newspapers’ websites.
Anorak’s team of moderators seeks to weed out libellous comments and anyone making accusations against individuals they cannot back up. We seek not to mirror the press but show you how the story is presented by media outlets to their audiences. Now read this:

Every single story in the Daily Express and in the Daily Star regarding Madeleine McCann has disappeared.
This was the answer given by the Daily Express’ online editor, Geoff Marsh:

I read a few days ago that Matthew Oldfield had flown back to Portugal
recently, also that Mrs cooper has been called back by the PJ re her Statement.
Do you know anything about this?

It is like a giant pieces that professionals are trying to put up together with a scientific team psychologists etc…etc….
As I was saying to Chateleine I am saturated.I cant think correctly anymore.

I read somewhere that, according to the waiters, they didn’t leave the table as often as they said. Actually, I read contradictory things about it. I am not trying to understand. All I can say is I have a strange feeling. Not my understanding of a good life. Obviously a lack of good, common sense. And priorities not in the right order.

I think if they left as often as they said no one would have eaten at all. JT said on interview she left to check as the starters were being served that was after 9pm.
Their priorities were their own enjoyment and fun, the kids weren’t included.

Of course they all wore watches. I suspect that May 3rd was planned in infinitesimal detail. Actually, maybe they took their watches off before ‘the performance’ began.

I doubt anyone will be sued.
It would put them in a UK court and the McCanns do not want to be in a court, allegedly and in my opinion and true belief (in case I’m wrong!).

I’m also wondering if they told the police that night that they hadnt been wearing watches so the times might not be exact?
I still think the issue is the difficulty with finding a balance between telling us they checked their kids religiously and providing sufficient opportunity for an abductor to do the abducting.
They are trapped in a paradox. The way out chosen seems to be shifting the times around - creating a confused picture and claiming no watches.
I still think that Gerry stating 9:10 on his blog as the Tanner sighting after she had been in the public domain with 9:15 is a highly significant and revealing move. Another is the fact that Clarence has nevr clamped down on the blog. The first thing I’d have done if I were representing thr McCanns would be to take immediate control of any communications gateways. - the most blatently obvious one is Gerry’s blog.
