Is Madeleine McCann Disappearing From The UK Press?
THE Anorak has been watching the media’s treatment of the Madeleine McCann story for some months.
The tragedy of a missing child was turned into a media feeding frenzy, a grim story with any gaps in the narrative plugged with speculation and voyeurism.
We were invited to become sleuths, armchair detectives working out who had done what and how. Nothing meaningful has been achieved by this. Madeleine McCann is missing.
Who cannot feel for those involved? Who would want to be them?
Now Anorak learns from a reader that the Madeleine McCann story may be disappearing from the British press, and newspapers’ websites.
Anorak’s team of moderators seeks to weed out libellous comments and anyone making accusations against individuals they cannot back up. We seek not to mirror the press but show you how the story is presented by media outlets to their audiences. Now read this:

Madeleine McCann is vanishing from the British Press
Every single story in the Daily Express and in the Daily Star regarding Madeleine McCann has disappeared.
This was the answer given by the Daily Express’ online editor, Geoff Marsh:
“Hi xxx, Many thanks for your email. For operational reasons, some articles previously available on express.co.UK have been temporarily removed. I’m afraid I can’t go into any more detail. Best wishes, Geoff”
And from the web team of Daily Express:
“Hi xxx
Many thanks for your email - and indeed your continued support as a regular reader.
I assure you, we do value you - and your input.
Daily Express
Due to operational reasons, a number of stories which previously appeared on express.co.uk have been made temporarily unavailable.Apologies if this causes any inconvenience or disrupts your use of our website.
I’m afraid I can’t go into any more detail.
However I would like to emphasise once again that we value your readership - and are grateful for your ongoing support of express.co.uk.
Best wishes
The Web Team”

Thanks!
A man (and maybe a woman?) always puts his watch on when he goes out - he wouldnt want to leave his valuables in an unlocked apartment now would he?

Anyone who has shared a few posts with me will tell you I am not very clever
on the computer, and the “links” were from posts on other Forums.
The Oldfield one was from 3Arguidos about a week ago under “comments”
and the Mrs Cooper one was two days ago on Sky discussions “Tapas 9 re
interrogation…..or something like that.
Sorry I can”t be more specific, and that you are leaving, any particular reason?
February 23rd, 2008 at 12:04 am
Nobody here is going to go very far… As soon as news are back (WHEN?????), everybody will be suddenly back. But if Mrs. Smith does feel like, there’s nothing to do

Bonne nuit, Marie Nicholas!
P.S. If Jo is the last one out, will s/he remember to turn the light off?

So it could be true? The tide could soon turn against the McCanns and the newspapers are preparing for this? God, I hope so!

Much desired kids but noone around to look after them
“Little Princess” anybody can snatch away etc…etc…

260 I don’t believe them
That’s right! The papers permanent promcc position is going to be quite embarrasing from now on. As nazis, some Chiness imperators and many others, tabloids are undertaking a “black out” about Madeleine story. In brief, nobody will remember what paper said what and when…

Sure and this then they have tried again and again…..
It is plainly the home office being slow on purpose but when the PJ has “green light”….OMG! I dont even want to think about it.
Its going to be harsh and hard unless of course they decide to clear them but somehow I doubt it.
February 22nd, 2008 at 11:57 pm
I don’t think the situation regarding the rogatory letters has even been mentioned in the British press. It is outrageous. The McCanns control the media.

We discussed this very question a couple of days ago. It appears Eurojust have
wide ranging powers and can chivvy up Jacqui Smith (who is acting on direct orders from GB IMO) to speed up the interviews.

I know its not soon enough but this case has been made so complicated and the PJ waiting and waiting for the letters to be processed…pfff…
I am sure we will have some news by the end of the month hopefully.Only a week to go and if not….the mcBigots will have their status stretched to an other 3 months….. Ole!

Earliest thing I remember about the Maddie case is Martin Brunt in Portugal one night on Sky News. Was that on May 3rd??? Seems unlikely. Maybe I am confusing it with the coverage of the night Murat became the first of the 3 Arguidos. The media went to Portugal remarkably quickly though, didn’t they? Under whose orders, I wonder? I suspect the order came right from the very top.
