Is Madeleine McCann Disappearing From The UK Press?
THE Anorak has been watching the media’s treatment of the Madeleine McCann story for some months.
The tragedy of a missing child was turned into a media feeding frenzy, a grim story with any gaps in the narrative plugged with speculation and voyeurism.
We were invited to become sleuths, armchair detectives working out who had done what and how. Nothing meaningful has been achieved by this. Madeleine McCann is missing.
Who cannot feel for those involved? Who would want to be them?
Now Anorak learns from a reader that the Madeleine McCann story may be disappearing from the British press, and newspapers’ websites.
Anorak’s team of moderators seeks to weed out libellous comments and anyone making accusations against individuals they cannot back up. We seek not to mirror the press but show you how the story is presented by media outlets to their audiences. Now read this:

Madeleine McCann is vanishing from the British Press
Every single story in the Daily Express and in the Daily Star regarding Madeleine McCann has disappeared.
This was the answer given by the Daily Express’ online editor, Geoff Marsh:
“Hi xxx, Many thanks for your email. For operational reasons, some articles previously available on express.co.UK have been temporarily removed. I’m afraid I can’t go into any more detail. Best wishes, Geoff”
And from the web team of Daily Express:
“Hi xxx
Many thanks for your email - and indeed your continued support as a regular reader.
I assure you, we do value you - and your input.
Daily Express
Due to operational reasons, a number of stories which previously appeared on express.co.uk have been made temporarily unavailable.Apologies if this causes any inconvenience or disrupts your use of our website.
I’m afraid I can’t go into any more detail.
However I would like to emphasise once again that we value your readership - and are grateful for your ongoing support of express.co.uk.
Best wishes

These wars would last [at most] a week, but think about it: it’s going to happen every month!

Couldn’t leave without commenting on that one, just think my dear Totje, if wars only ever lasted a week, it wouldn’t matter if there were to be one a month !! eventually no-one would dare start one !!

I never hear of Ben Needham before I heard of Madeleine. Only got to know it when I read Pamalam [and I think The Real Stig mentioned him too].
Whatever happened, it’s is even more sad for Ben Needham…

You’ve been exploring the forums, isn’t it? Did you ever read the horror story Inspector Gadget posted about it?

No !! never read that one - must go and look for it. It is always said that wars should be fought by pre-menstrual women lacking chocolate ….wouldn’t last very long would they ?????!!

I do understand pppy, I have been in a similar situation with an ex. He also tried to commit suicide on 3 occasions in 3 different ways. Just keep strong love. Sometimes you just have to let go of it all and turn away, hard as it is. Some people just cannot be helped unless they want to help themselves. Hopefully one day he will come to his senses and let you live your life happily. If you ever need to talk, click my name and contact me via my site, and I will send you my email address. x

it all happened before with Ben Needham but that was before the eruption of the internet so it faded quicker than with Madeleine.
…………………………………………………………………..
Never thought of that, of course the interwebby thingy has been both a curse and a blessing, but wouldn’t you have thought that the intermittent coverage of Ben’s case would have sparked something off ? also he was a very fair child in a country of essentially dark people and should have stuck out like the proverbial.
Even so, there have been more kiddies gone since Maddie and they haven’t had celebs and multi-millionaires falling over themselves to get rid of some taxable income…..

As Anorak knows I’m sure, there is a line that must not be crossed. Some try it here… Speculation is one thing, stating untruths as facts is another.

25 Just me
Think he is too far gone to see hope in anything. Hence the ex. I could not understand how that dad could jump of the balcony with his children, but now I am beginning to see what state of mind he could have been in. My ex has threatened to take me and my children down to his level…its all terribly sad but I am just glad he was sectioned when I finally finished things. I have had time to change locks and get panic alarms fitted and contact the police. Its been a hard and stressful few weeks.
Anorak is responsible for keeping me going though!

Wise words…sometimes the obvious is right under one’s nose, something might actually get found !!
On a lighter not, and totally off subject, here’s one for the ladies, before the dreaded op. I used to be a chocaholic but since then the very sight or thought of the stuff makes me gag !! How can this be ????Chocolate is the life-blood of woman-kind !! shall I sue for pain and distress ?????

Poor him. Don’t get me started. He has left everyone who loved him angry, stressed and upset. We have to pick up the pieces while he languishes in bed all day, two hours out a day spent drinking as many pints as he can, then me receiving 65 texts a day explaining how its my fault he is in there and how when he gets out he will bring my world to the same level.
He didn’t just have a breakdown he has totally flipped. Nasty.

Thanks Totje !!
I don’t think anyone, us on Anorak for definite, will ever forget Madeleine if only for the way certain people exploited her, because that is what they surely did. A complete circus ensued and yet there have been other babes before and since, who have had nothing like the support and coverage she has had. Poor little soul seems to have been secondary to the whole thing and I do so wish that she would come to light very soon to get some closure for those who actually care…..and it ain’t Clarrie and the McConns !!! ( sounds like a 70’s pop group !! )

Off topic but I viewed the personal link you put up yesterday afternoon, and I have to say that you are totally beyond amazing. I emailed the link to my ex-partner who has been in hospital for 4 weeks after trying to take his own life. I told him to take some time to read it, then really really decide whether or not his problems are that bad. God bless you x
