I can fully understand why 10 million of us are thinking about buying a 2nd property abroad and also why 4 mil are considering permanent shift. We all want to live the dream and I am sure many of us wonder if the UK can offer that anymore ?

You only have to catch a couple of the the great BBC series episodes of ” wanted down under ” and your off to assess your visa eligibilty to see if you have desirable skills and dreaming of your visit to Australia house and visualising just what a great life you would have! Coupled with more bang to your buck.

Money goes so much farther when away from the UK

For me for now .. it’s the UK I run a great business that I enjoy .. but who knows if early retirement beckons .. I would be surprised if I stay put here.

Only time will tell

Till then I shall join the many millions of others seeking the dream

I’m all for the British staying well away from beautiful places such as the Algarve; we infest wherever we settle with our arrogance and xenophobia.

edna, the english shouldn’t moan how bad things work? nothing works in the UK. Because this country is mostly run people from 3rd world countries nowerdays. one day only brown people with strange accents will inhabitate this gloomy, little island. no-one with any great sense will want to live here anymore (or if you live in denial, too poor to move…) i am moving too :o) to germany!! yippee…they are lovely there

Please, please do not move to Portugal!!! There are too many from the UK already. Go to Spain, they’ll love you. We do not want you buying up more of our country. I have nothing against Brits except they don’t really like the Portuguese, just the cheap property and being able to blab to their friends how lazy people are , how bad the food is, and how badly things work.
