Shannon Matthews, Madeleine McCann And Haut De La Garenne
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
EVENING STANDARD: “MAN HELPING IN SEARCH SHANNON MATTHEWS ‘CRUCIFIED’ JUST YARDS FROM MISSING GIRL’S HOME”
A man helping in the search for missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews is believed to have been crucified outside his house just yards from the nine-year-old’s family home.
Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 43-year-old man who neighbours claim was nailed to a wooden cross through his hands on Sunday night, and some locals claim the attack is related to the hunt for the missing girl.
And the McCanns?
Meanwhile, the McCanns, whose daughter Madeleine disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve last May, have pledged their support to Shannon’s parents.
Writing in his personal online blog, Gerry McCann, said he and his wife Kate were praying for her safe return.
“No matter what has happened to Shannon, there is no doubt she is extremely vulnerable,” he added. “We hope she is found safe and well soon and returned to her family.”
Will the McCanns be called upon to comment on every missing child?
YORKSHIRE POST: “Agencies face abuse inquiry in wake of body find”
Police are searching a former children’s home Haut de la Garenne where they discovered a child’s skull. Police are now searching six more sites at the building now used as a youth hostel.
Police are using Eddie, who works with South Yorkshire Police as an “enhanced victim recovery dog”.
Eddie is said to have picked up traces of missing Madeleine McCann in the back of a car which her parents hired five weeks after she disappeared.

Although I’ve been reading in the newspapers that children in other places had been saying that children had disappeared - so we maybe should expect things to be discovered elsewhere esp. London (apparently).
Logic
One of my teachers gave me a great piece of advice for learning about things - always read at least 3 books that are in favour of something, 3 that are against and 3 that are neutral and the truth can be distilled from the similarities and inferred from the contradictions.

The police are to be congratulated on clearing up three distressing murder cases. It is to be regretted that the opportunity was taken, from the courthouse steps, of pushing for the further imposition of a Police State by the forcible swabbing of the entire population for their DNA samples.
It should be remembered that DNA evidence is not incontrovertible. A pack of mccannista lawyers are waiting in the wings to tell us it is valueless.
A similar pack of lawyers are waiting to tell us that sniffer dogs do not know what they are sniffing about.
Eddie, could he speak, would tell us that he is poor but happy. He would also tell the lawyers to go f*** themselves.

Nothing new about Mari Luz. They showed a photo of her at a charity football match between bullfighters (uugh!) and “artists” (singers actually, both flamenco and otherwise). The Evangelical Church of Philadelphia (if that’s what it’s called) in Huelva held a vigil.
Otherwise, nothing at all.

Does anyone know if Virgin Richard is on a train to Yorkshire yet? And the double glazing man? And the team of lawyers from London and elsewhere. After all, they’re only interested in missing children, aren’t they? No matter who they are? No matter who their parents are? No matter who they know? I’m getting confused!!
—————————————————
..and why do the McCrims seem to think they have to perk up and “give their support” every time a new child goes missing ? Do they even know whether the parents and rellies of said children even want to know them let alone “welcome” their support ? For the most part, the parents of the children now missing were as conscientious as they could be and didn’t as far as we are aware, leave them unattended at a tender age

Brandon - I heard that earlier. If the other kids asked questions, they were told the missing ones had run away ti England, thus ending the questions. How sick those people were who ran that place, and not even that long ago

But there again jo, the reason why there is no mention on the official FSS site, although there is of many other high profile cases, could be that there is no forensics for this case. Perhaps the FSS wish to distance themselves from the flawed PJ inquiry, they the FSS have already had a major well documented difference with the PJ, as to the competence of the PJ’s findings, which include the alleged findings of the dogs.

Police say this could be the worst case of child abuse ever experienced on British soil.
One of the two Springer Spaniels that found a body in Jersey
It is thought most of it took place in the 1970s and 80s.
Detectives are looking at the records of children who went missing from the home over the years, but they say they are so patchy, they can not be sure how many may have disappeared.
Some were written off as runaways.
“There’s not really a lot you can say apart from disgust and fear that this has happened in a place you consider to be so safe,” says Gillian Wilky, who moved to Jersey when she was eight, 13 years ago.
“When we first came here you could go out and not lock your doors and yet this type of thing still happens. It makes you question everything you feel about your security here really.”
Claims of cover up
It is thought many people tried to report claims of sexual abuse over the years, but nothing was done about it.
There are claims people have known what has being going on but have tried to cover it up.
Police say they will investigate whether care agencies failed to act.
It is only now long held secrets are coming to the surface.
The remains of one skeleton have already been found, but detectives fear there could be more.
They are searching six more sites in and around the grounds of the home.
Paul Tandy moved to the island six months ago.
He said: “Being a newcomer to the island to find something like this, you just can’t believe it happened.
“There are people talking about it just being one big cover up. We’ll just have to see what comes out in the water.”

If she’s doing Sociology she may as well get used to stuff like that (it was feminist by the sound of it) - they’re mostly still Marxists (and they follow Michel Foucault - he was the Care in the Community Guru - I think he might be to blame for the lax attitude to child abuse, since he was a big fan of the Greek man-boy system???)

Do you really beleive they are going to report anything on a website???
This is a CRIMINAL investigation adn 2 formal suspects are the progenitors.
Note I do not use “parents” because they do not deserve to be called like this .They even didnt have sex TOGETHER to have the children.

Thanks for the reassurance. It’s very hard when the young read things in books, probably written by people who weren’t alive at the time! My daughter read that information in an A level Sociology text book - I saw it myself and it was definitely there as part of the syllabus - and I tried to tell her it was wrong. But she just said that, as the textbook said it, it’s what the examiners want, so I didn’t bother to argue any further. And she got an A grade in the exam! What a farce!

February 26th, 2008 at 11:49 am
Yes jo, the only reason that I can think of is that it is sub judice, which would mean, that there is an investigation being carried out by British police under British law. As far as I am aware a case under the jurisdiction of the Portuguese, would not come under British sub judice laws, if it did this board would not be running.

Oh yes, that’s utter rubbish. I went to university in 1970 and a lot of girls from my school went - maybe more than boys. If you went to a grammar school and were expecting to get 3 A-levels, it was the normal thing to do.
