Shannon Matthews, Madeleine McCann And Haut De La Garenne
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
EVENING STANDARD: “MAN HELPING IN SEARCH SHANNON MATTHEWS ‘CRUCIFIED’ JUST YARDS FROM MISSING GIRL’S HOME”
A man helping in the search for missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews is believed to have been crucified outside his house just yards from the nine-year-old’s family home.
Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 43-year-old man who neighbours claim was nailed to a wooden cross through his hands on Sunday night, and some locals claim the attack is related to the hunt for the missing girl.
And the McCanns?
Meanwhile, the McCanns, whose daughter Madeleine disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve last May, have pledged their support to Shannon’s parents.
Writing in his personal online blog, Gerry McCann, said he and his wife Kate were praying for her safe return.
“No matter what has happened to Shannon, there is no doubt she is extremely vulnerable,” he added. “We hope she is found safe and well soon and returned to her family.”
Will the McCanns be called upon to comment on every missing child?
YORKSHIRE POST: “Agencies face abuse inquiry in wake of body find”
Police are searching a former children’s home Haut de la Garenne where they discovered a child’s skull. Police are now searching six more sites at the building now used as a youth hostel.
Police are using Eddie, who works with South Yorkshire Police as an “enhanced victim recovery dog”.
Eddie is said to have picked up traces of missing Madeleine McCann in the back of a car which her parents hired five weeks after she disappeared.

How can you be so cynical? Don’t you have a heart? If you spent as much time helping the search for Madeleine as you do slandering Gerry and Kate on this website maybe we’d be closer to bringing her back home to her Mum and Dad - where she belongs.

I do remember it. I mentioned it a few weeks but was told by someone it was the Isle of Man and not Jersey.

Free speech in this case means pass any comments about the Mccanns, past, present and future with impunity. The hazy thin line about what happened is the problem!

I posted this question last night and so far it seems that only Nosey and I can recollect (in Noseys words) a hoohar about it at the time. So I would like to ask again. Can anyone remember reading about the McCanns sending a donation to Jersey for an aquaintance or relation who worked in a childrens home or charity there?

Not really but I guess it’s human nature to want to find the truth? How far should that go….? I dunno. I know the police would go further but maybe they are allowed & should. Should there be a cut off point/a line to draw? Again I don’t know. Free speach…..good or bad thing?
It’s all a very hazy thin line!

“I doubt if the ‘fund’ will need anymore of our money, now that they have gone into cocaine trafficking, big time. Katiepoos will shortly open the branch buying office in Kosovo (alongside her charity work, of course). Meanwhile, Gerry is trying on turbans for his new life as an Afghan poppy farmer.”

“…in two days you should have noticed that the sentence in his blog continues with “…having spent three nights and four days away from home.”?? Makes more sense, doesn’t it?
I’ve been following the Anorak threads on this case for a long time now, and finally decided to say something myself - c’mon, by cutting (even in the middle of sentences…) & pasting and taking quotes out of context, most things can be made to seem bizarre. Even if sides have been chosen, some objectivity would be nice… ”
Many thanks for the observation. I cut it short so as not to bore, not to confabulate, but I think the whole thing is still very strange.
And I don’t think it alters my point about the 3 children having been vulnerable in an unlocked apartment in a foreign country.
Which leads me to ponder on why GM feels he has to comment on every child reported missing anywhere in Europe. Does he really not understand what he is doing ?
And more than that, why is CM not doing something about it ? I don’t go for coded messages, but it just doesn’t feel right

- her background, social status, upbringing etc have nothing to do with anything -
——————————————————————————
Let’s pray that lasts & we don’t all end up having to question her background etc.
It’s been a week now. A very long time for a missing child to still be missing.
Remember the facts…. that it nearly always is close to home?

“MISSING nine-year-old Shannon Matthews could have “fallen into the wrong hands”, a senior detective said today.
Det Supt Andy Brennan said the possibility that the nine-year-old had been abducted was now one theory being considered by his investigation team.
He was speaking at a press conference and information seek outside the crematorium at Dewsbury Moor close to Shannon’s home - seven days on from her disappearance after she failed to return from a swimming lesson.
A large electronic TV screen attached to a transit van will now play a video appealing for more information about Shannon’s disappearance.
Det Sup Brennan said the investigation had changed in tone and was now similar to a murder style inquiry.
He said: “What concerns me greatly is that Shannon, a vulnerable nine-year-old girl, may have fallen into the wrong hands.”
Police issued two new pictures of Shannon, one of her at a birthday party and another of the youngster with a pet dog.
A third photo was also issued of the coach Shannon was brought back to school on after she had been swimming and shortly before she disappeared.”

Yes, I would have thought walking over wasteland for a 9 year old (or anyone) would be somewhat hazardous. How far was the distance?
