A man helping in the search for missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews is believed to have been crucified outside his house just yards from the nine-year-old’s family home.
Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 43-year-old man who neighbours claim was nailed to a wooden cross through his hands on Sunday night, and some locals claim the attack is related to the hunt for the missing girl.
And the McCanns?
Meanwhile, the McCanns, whose daughter Madeleine disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve last May, have pledged their support to Shannon’s parents.
Writing in his personal online blog, Gerry McCann, said he and his wife Kate were praying for her safe return.
“No matter what has happened to Shannon, there is no doubt she is extremely vulnerable,” he added. “We hope she is found safe and well soon and returned to her family.”
Will the McCanns be called upon to comment on every missing child?

Police are searching a former children’s home Haut de la Garenne where they discovered a child’s skull. Police are now searching six more sites at the building now used as a youth hostel.
Police are using Eddie, who works with South Yorkshire Police as an “enhanced victim recovery dog”.
Eddie is said to have picked up traces of missing Madeleine McCann in the back of a car which her parents hired five weeks after she disappeared.

Tell us what you know about the freebie in PDL. I’m not going to ‘out’ you, but I really do want to know why someone with a direct connection with a prominant person in local government would come on a site like this and consistantly support people who are suspects in a missing child case.

Ok, thanks for your polite answer! Concerning GMs commenting on missing children, I’ll try to get up on the fence and objectively regard both sides - on one side, there was an abduction and the McCs are completely innocent (I’m not talking about leaving the children alone here), then they are certainly desperate to find any possible link at all to MM - another missing child would of course be one. They are probably also feeling very lonely in their anguish, despite all the support from family and friends, and could maybe find (and give) some comfort in other parents in the same horrible situation.
On the other side, where there was no abduction - well, then it would have to have something to do with what they think is expected of them…compassionate comments? I’m sure others here will have other explanations for this - I’ll go back to the other side of the fence…

Regarding the jogging up the hill, if your kids have gone missing would you ………
A) Jog the same direction everyday whilst timing yourself, making sure that you have no time to spot anything ?
B) Jog in a different direction in the hope of finding something/anything type of clue ?
C) Stay by the pool drink Lambrini and eat Tapas ?
