Shannon Matthews, Madeleine McCann And Haut De La Garenne
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
EVENING STANDARD: “MAN HELPING IN SEARCH SHANNON MATTHEWS ‘CRUCIFIED’ JUST YARDS FROM MISSING GIRL’S HOME”
A man helping in the search for missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews is believed to have been crucified outside his house just yards from the nine-year-old’s family home.
Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 43-year-old man who neighbours claim was nailed to a wooden cross through his hands on Sunday night, and some locals claim the attack is related to the hunt for the missing girl.
And the McCanns?
Meanwhile, the McCanns, whose daughter Madeleine disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve last May, have pledged their support to Shannon’s parents.
Writing in his personal online blog, Gerry McCann, said he and his wife Kate were praying for her safe return.
“No matter what has happened to Shannon, there is no doubt she is extremely vulnerable,” he added. “We hope she is found safe and well soon and returned to her family.”
Will the McCanns be called upon to comment on every missing child?
YORKSHIRE POST: “Agencies face abuse inquiry in wake of body find”
Police are searching a former children’s home Haut de la Garenne where they discovered a child’s skull. Police are now searching six more sites at the building now used as a youth hostel.
Police are using Eddie, who works with South Yorkshire Police as an “enhanced victim recovery dog”.
Eddie is said to have picked up traces of missing Madeleine McCann in the back of a car which her parents hired five weeks after she disappeared.

I think it’s the real one because it says he’s 29. The step dad is said to be 22. Might be wrong though.

Do you mean specifically this latest entry or just in general ? Pamalam tries to keep track of the changes, but some may be done too quickly to catch

I don’t think anyone disbelieves in cover-ups.
I read somewhere that back in the late 60s/early 70s it was intellectually respectable to believe that sex with children wasn’t abuse - and in some liberal/left circles it was believed that it was esp. good for boys because they wouldn’t grow up to be blokey (or something like that).
In my local 2nd hand bookshop I came across a book on the cinema (from 1971) that had a whole chapter about how children had repressed sexualities and cinema could set them free (really
). It had loads of pictures of naked kids too. I showed it to the owner and she chucked it in the bin. The 70s were weird.

Gerry must really think he is so superior and blameless that he can afford to criticise and cast shadows on other families. Probably thinks it will make him look so caring. After all, the McCanns have never behaved like normal caring people, have they? They think in a different way. Having said that, looking at the Jersey situation, I’m starting to wonder just how many people are “normal”, moral and compassionate?

I don’t know why someone didn’t tell Gerry to stop writing his blog months ago. Could it really be that there’s some kind of secret code in it? I don’t much go on that theory but I can’t understand the need for so much banality.

Yorkshire Evening Post on the crucified man

QUOTE “But police have denied any link to the Shannon case, adding the incident was minor and no-one had been arrested.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman told the YEP: “A 43-year-old man was assaulted around 11pm on Sunday. His injuries are not believed to be serious and the attack is not believed to be connected with the Shannon Matthews investigation.” UNQUOTE

I believe they are really sick in the head.
They have a constant need to interfere with everything.
This is real mental pathology

What a difference:
“….Shannon’s father Leon Rose, who lived for 16 years at Dodge Holme Gardens, Mix-enden, spoke to The Courier while scouring the streets of Dewsbury, where Shannon lives.
Mr Rose, 29, who attended Ash Green Primary School, Mixenden, said: “It is just devastating but my main concern is my daughter.
“It is so hard to think she has been out six days at all times and in all weathers. I just want her safe.”
He added: “I’ve been out looking for her every day across a 20-mile radius around her home, driving round, handing out leaflets.
“People see me all the time and know I’m Shannon’s dad….”
February 26th, 2008 at 10:59 am
Good morning.
Just dropping in briefly (too much work). I can’t understand, at this moment, what Shannon’s family need the money for. The police seem to have set up a huge operation. Volunteers are, presumably, giving their time free. I really don’t see the need at this moment.
Having said that, things don’t look good.

I haven’t been around much lately but it’s nice to see you back. Keep posting. In fact, I was so pleased when I logged in yesterday to see so many of the familiar (?faces)/names back.
Wonder if Garth will log on when he gets in from school and support Shannon’s family in their fund efforts?

Regardless of what the McCanns have done, if one of my kids went missing (God forbid), I definitely wouldn’t start collecting. At least, not unless the circumstances were such that a search couldn’t be got under way without support. Like in the frozen Arctic or the Southern Ocean! What is our society coming to?
February 26th, 2008 at 10:53 am
I have wrestled with Gerry’s blog entry for two days now, and still find it strange to the point of being bizarre.
“No matter what has happened to Shannon, there is no doubt she is extremely vulnerable,”
Vulnerable - like three small children left unattended night after night in an unlocked apartment in a foreign country.
1 If she is dead, she is no longer vulnerable
2 If she is being looked after and treated like a princess somewhere, she is not vulnerable
Does no one proof read these entries for him, and suggest modification (and grammar checks). Or suggest that he keeps his mouth shut on things which do not concern him
