A man helping in the search for missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews is believed to have been crucified outside his house just yards from the nine-year-old’s family home.
Police are investigating the alleged assault of a 43-year-old man who neighbours claim was nailed to a wooden cross through his hands on Sunday night, and some locals claim the attack is related to the hunt for the missing girl.
And the McCanns?
Meanwhile, the McCanns, whose daughter Madeleine disappeared from their holiday apartment in the Algarve last May, have pledged their support to Shannon’s parents.
Writing in his personal online blog, Gerry McCann, said he and his wife Kate were praying for her safe return.
“No matter what has happened to Shannon, there is no doubt she is extremely vulnerable,” he added. “We hope she is found safe and well soon and returned to her family.”
Will the McCanns be called upon to comment on every missing child?

Police are searching a former children’s home Haut de la Garenne where they discovered a child’s skull. Police are now searching six more sites at the building now used as a youth hostel.
Police are using Eddie, who works with South Yorkshire Police as an “enhanced victim recovery dog”.
Eddie is said to have picked up traces of missing Madeleine McCann in the back of a car which her parents hired five weeks after she disappeared.

We are calling for your support in targeting You Tube to have vile material removed from their website. We don’t just want to send one or two complaints, we want to send a bulk within a 24 hour period. Our target for the 24 hour complaints period is Tuesday 26th February. On that day, with everything in place, we would like as many posters as possible to flag the material and send an email of complaint.
We were directed to the You Tube site a few days ago, regarding a really vile piece of video footage. We were astonished that You Tube allowed this to remain on their site and be viewed. In our opinion that sends the wrong message to millions of viewers. The video was of Madeleine talking from beyond the grave, asking Kate why she had killed her. Then we noticed other footage, just as vile, accusing Kate of killing Madeleine. It appears that in allowing this material to be viewed, You Tube supports it. People are openly accusing Kate and Gerry of killing Madeleine without any concrete evidence. What is more disturbing is that by their actions these people are promoting hate behaviour towards the McCanns. You Tube’s inability to effectively judge material before allowing publication on their website, is allowing people to spread hate and lies about the case. Whatever happened to human decency and the principle of ‘innocent till proven guilty in a court of law’? You Tube should review their publications criteria regarding this type of material because, currently, it’s a free for all.
Here is what we are hoping to achieve with your help.
*Find as much unacceptable video footage on You Tube as possible and compile a list. At the bottom of this email are some of the links to footage we have found so far.
*Encourage as many people as possible to register at You Tube for the sole purpose of flagging this material and then e-mailing them a complaint.
*As already stated, we are hoping to make our voices heard over a 24 hour period, so as to target youtube with many hundreds/thousands of complaints. The date is set for Tuesday 26 February 2008.

Whether Maddie is alive or dead, what’s important is to talk about the issue. And to do it emotionally. “It’s information management in times of crisis,” they say.
Every time some news comes up that is not favourable to the McCann family as regards the disappearance of Maddie, another news imposes itself favouring the missing child in the Algarve. From vigils, evocations, storytelling, YouTube movies, there are situations that repeat themselves and leave in the air the feeling that the positive overcomes the negative. “The strategy of the McCanns is well implemented, it has a spokesperson and composes the campaigns, studies how they should be carried out, where they are to be placed. Some of them are carried out in a mystifying way, others in a chirurgical way,” explains Francisco Moita Flores, an ex-investigator of the PJ and a commentator of the case.
Edson Athayde [a Brazilian who is Portugal's top advertiser], a specialist in communications, without wanting to state that this is the case with the McCanns, believes that “this behaviour is typical of a crisis management situation.” And he says: “When it is installed in the media, interesting factoids may be produced that eliminate the facts”.
THEY CHOSE THE BEST
It’s known that the British family works with some of the best information experts, that being the case of Clarence Mitchell. In fact, the journalist Hernâni Carvalho [author with Luís Neves of the ‘Maddie 129’ book] is categorical about the method: “The specialists in communication know how everything is done, the experts in analysing and collecting information know even better”.
The assessor of the McCann couple, Clarence Mitchell, has a curriculum in data management. “Before working for the couple, the assessor did collection and analysis of information” for the United Kingdom. The journalist concludes stating that “all the communications have been run by a specialist”. Edson Athayde, an advertising man, also does not ignore these facts.
POSITIVE FACTS
“There’s a lot of talk about the positive agenda of politics, and that happens also in other areas,” states Edson Athayde. But not everything lasts forever. “This expedient works when it’s possible, but one must need to know that there may be a wearing off and thus public disinterest may occur. It can last for quite a while”.
However, with so many news against and in favour of the McCanns, will we arrive eventually at the truth? “As the case has already been turned on its head several times, the result is that no one knows what to believe in. If that was the objective of the communications strategy, then it’s going well”, mentions the advertising man. Hernâni Carvalho defends that the truth is already known despite all the facts that were published. However, he answers with a question mark: “Isn’t the outcome already visible?”
TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HUELVA
Is there a correlation between the McCann family and the disappearance of Mari Luz, the 5 year old Huelva girl whose whereabouts are unknown since January 13? Francisco Moita Flores has no doubts: “Of course they’re appropriating it and will do it even more.” Hernâni Carvalho answers with a question: “Would anyone be speaking about Kate if they hadn’t called the family?” A disappearance that, in the words of the commentator of ‘You on TV!’, “curiously occurred in Huelva, where there is not a communications apparatus and everyone knows that the little girl disappeared”.
The advertiser and specialist in communications believes that this kind of phenomenon is indeed going to start multiplying. “Factually, I don’t know if there is an exploitation or not. But it’s natural that several simulacra start appearing in the media”. Imitation phenomena that exist only because the impact of a news of this kind has on people is known”.
However, Edson argues that this may not stay confined to the South of Spain. “Soon we may even have the Maddie of Brazil, the Maddie of France… The media attention will concentrate on those places until the public is tired”.

Don’t know how it’s in your country, however here [The Netherlands] we have to pay if we dial the phone number.
MrT often uses Skype to call to Spain or the UK for instance, if he uses the phone number he has to pay a small amound, if I call my family in Kuweit using the email it’s free. Don’t know how it was in 2006. I used something similar before Skype.

I bloody hope not, some of those videos on YouTube should be seen by more people, I was watching them again last night, some of them of M are just heartbreaking. I hope that the McC couple wake at night in hot sweats, plague by their dreams and guilt for leaving those children. I hope they never get a moments peace ever again, they make me sick.
