Madeleine McCann In A Taxi ‘With Murat’, Denied And Shannon Matthews
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
THE SUN: “Maddie & Murat ‘in a cab’”
Portuguese taxi driver claims Madeleine McCann was in his cab the night she vanished — with Robert Murat. “Antonio Cardoso, 67, insisted he took the little girl and four adults on a short journey to a hotel where they all switched to a Jeep with foreign plates.”
Says he:
“I later recognised him on television. I am sure it was him…She was awake but silent. She was just staring ahead with big owlish eyes. I noticed her eye because my son was born with a defect much the same. I saw her kind of twist her chin a few times in my rear-view mirror. I remember she was in pink pyjamas and wondered why they hadn’t dressed her.”
Says McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “We are dismissing this primarily because the timings are entirely wrong.”
IRISH EXAMINER: “Taxi driver claims he picked up Madeleine”
Antonio Castela, 67, said he dropped off the missing girl and her English-speaking mystery companions at an Algarve hotel and watched them drive off in a blue jeep. He insisted he was “100% sure” his passengers included Madeleine.
The McCanns and Robert Murat — the third official suspect in the Madeleine McCann case — all deny wrongdoing”
Kate Mccann is a “GP” Kate and husband Gerry a “heart specialist”
TIMES: “Forget Happy Meals, let’s focus on happy families”
Sandra Parsons looks at “The greatest gift of all”:
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and those of us lucky enough to have children can expect to be given cards and flowers. But with Madeleine McCann and the schoolgirl Shannon Matthews still missing, Milly Dowler’s stricken parents making a heartrending appeal for information about their daughter’s murder, and the reminders again of the brutal killing of young women by Steve Wright and Levi Bellfield, I rather think it should be the other way round.
DAILY MIRROR: “Mother vows never to give up in the search for missing Shannon Matthews”
Shannon Matthews’s mum yesterday said she would never stop searching for her daughter. Karen, 32, fighting back tears, said: “We will never give up on her. It is more than a week and we are desperate to have Shannon back. Our message to people is never give up because we won’t”
Adding:
“We’ve shed a lot of tears. “It was really emotional seeing people walking through the streets with us to support our family. I was overwhelmed by the turnout. Now we just want Shannon found. We just pray she will be found safe.
YORKSHIRE POST: “Police quiz 1,500 drivers in hunt for missing Shannon”
A reward. Like Madeleine:
As the investigation enters its second week, Joseph Furniture, based in Bradley, Huddersfield, has put up a £5,000 reward for any information that leads to Shannon’s safe return.
In a statement the firm said: “As a company that was founded in Dewsbury and a former employer of Shannon’s uncle, Neil Hyett, we feel a social and moral responsibility to aid with reuniting Shannon Matthews with her beloved family.”
DAILY STAR: “SHANNON HUNT AT MUM’S ‘DIGS’ - HOME OF FAMILY FRIEND SCOURED”
The house where missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews’ mum is staying was searched by police yesterday. Officers with sniffer dogs trained to find human remains were sent in to track down clues to the nine-year-old’s disappearance.
The house in Dewsbury, West Yorks, belongs to family friend Peter “Scouser” Brown, 34, who lives just a few doors from Shannon’s mum Karen and her boyfriend Craig Meehan, 22.
Shannons’ parents are not doctors. There is no media feeeding frenzy.

I think the arguido status is just a technicality, and that it will not influence the result of the investigation. I understand, of course, that it is more than a technicality for the arguidos themselves, and from what their PR keeps saying, it seems they want it lifted as soon as possible.
The outcome of the investigation only depends on the amount of evidence the PJ have. It is possible they have no evidence whatsoever. But do you think the English Police would have accepted to proceed with the interviews if they didn’t have some sort of evidence? (The English police will ask the questions. The PJ will only listen, and watch. that’s how the arrangement goes).

This taxi business has got me thinking about Dianne Webster’s (alleged) statement that all were responsible for checking their own children.
As if to say “well at least my grandchildren were checked regularly.”

Hi there, how goes it. Just come back from the lower field have you?
I think all the excitement of last night has evaporated and no one is quite sure
of the authenticity of the Report. Seems as though 24 Horas and Duarte Levy?
are responsible……how informed they are is anybody”s guess.

They link it to anything as long as clarrie nods.
And they exempt it as long as he does!
When his ‘hold’ goes he might end up in USA or Europe!!!

I just dont get the how people can compare mainly pro mccs, with the bulger case they are just trying to justyfy their argument, the mother did not leave him, he wandered off,two ten year olds took him and tortured him.
where is the comparison….????? Holly and jessica murdered by huntley were their parents guilty of neglect,it just goes on and on, sorry but pro mccs are sick in the head and will bring anything up to justyfy their daft arguments in the defence of mccs…….who deliberately left their children not one but three, and not one night but several, just to go on the piss……..please tell me it isnt me who is loosing it…………….have i gone mad?

And further
Even if it is the case that
-edit-
‘- do they lack evidence to press charges ? - (A -That they do not)
- do they lack evidence to prove their charges without doubt, legally speaking ? (B -That they do not)
If A nd B and no more, then what are you going to do? This is the rule of law - if there is insufficient evidence, then there can be no conviction. And for good reason. If you accept that you live in a liberal democracy, then this you must accept the rule of law. (I am aware that you may not live in the UK, please advise if you do not live in a liberal democracy).

thinking (cadaver) of all the “stiffs” she deals with (cold stiffs from her level of sexual attractiveness - ) she will never be charged with inappropriate sexual behaviour with patients.
clearly there is no evidence whatsoever that she is a necrophiliac.
i’m sure the patethetic comical one will confirm this
such fun to watch them go under (so to speak)

I don’t think the time sequence is that important at all. It’s too easy to ‘duck’ questions like ‘at what time…’ by saying ‘it’s too long ago, I can’t remember’ or by saying ‘I didn’t really watch the time’.
What might be of more interest is who arrived first, who arrived last, who went for the first check, did Oldfield ‘offer’ to take Kate’s turn or was he ‘asked’ to do it etc.
And I really wonder if they want to interview the Sangria 7 or some other people like Wilkins or the nanny’s.

It could be as simple as this, the PJ saying you have one last chance to tell the truth about the checking, then we all might be able to help each other.

Dear oh dear! Misquoting again! He was referring to the fact that the McCanns ran off and with hindsight would have been more effective to have kept them on side, so to speak.

The only similarity between Madeleine McCann’s disappearance from her family’s rented holiday apartment in Praia da Luz and the film is that in both instances a beautiful young girl is taken.
Other events in the film, which I have seen twice now, are entirely dissimilar.
To prove my point, I wish I could tell you the ending of the film, but that would, clearly, infuriate readers.
Gone, Baby Gone, based on a bestselling novel by Dennis Lehane, will now open in Britain on June 6 — more than a year after the mysterious disappearance of Madeleine.
Affleck, who won an Oscar with Matt Damon for their screenplay of Good Will Hunting, is from Boston and he’s able to use the city and its surrounding, downbeat neighbourhoods almost as another character.
But it’s the outstanding performance by Amy Ryan as the girl’s mother that lifts the film.
Ryan received a best supporting actress Oscar nomination for her role, but lost out to Tilda Swinton, who won for her ruthless corporate attorney in Michael Clayton.
Casey Affleck, Ben’s brother, and Michelle Monaghan play the two private eyes who meet corrupt cops, drug addicts and creepy child molesters as they close in on the girl’s abductors.
The film-makers have behaved in an honourable way. Now it’s time for people to be allowed to see the movie.

1110 WTF
“Exactly. their main aim is to rid themselves of arguido status to turn the attention to looking for maddie!”
problem is that they have NEVER looked for maddie
even before they were identified as prime suspects they preferred popes/tennis/jogging/telly appearances
they need to rid themselves of self-denial and cheap (i.e. mcconn class) celebrity and the greed to make money out of their neglect and cover-up of disposal.
nasty people need nasty remedies
such fun to watch it all happen
i really enjoy this phase of the charade
excellent sport
