Portuguese taxi driver claims Madeleine McCann was in his cab the night she vanished — with Robert Murat. “Antonio Cardoso, 67, insisted he took the little girl and four adults on a short journey to a hotel where they all switched to a Jeep with foreign plates.”
Says he:
“I later recognised him on television. I am sure it was him…She was awake but silent. She was just staring ahead with big owlish eyes. I noticed her eye because my son was born with a defect much the same. I saw her kind of twist her chin a few times in my rear-view mirror. I remember she was in pink pyjamas and wondered why they hadn’t dressed her.”
Says McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “We are dismissing this primarily because the timings are entirely wrong.”

It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and those of us lucky enough to have children can expect to be given cards and flowers. But with Madeleine McCann and the schoolgirl Shannon Matthews still missing, Milly Dowler’s stricken parents making a heartrending appeal for information about their daughter’s murder, and the reminders again of the brutal killing of young women by Steve Wright and Levi Bellfield, I rather think it should be the other way round.

As the investigation enters its second week, Joseph Furniture, based in Bradley, Huddersfield, has put up a £5,000 reward for any information that leads to Shannon’s safe return.
In a statement the firm said: “As a company that was founded in Dewsbury and a former employer of Shannon’s uncle, Neil Hyett, we feel a social and moral responsibility to aid with reuniting Shannon Matthews with her beloved family.”

The house where missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews’ mum is staying was searched by police yesterday. Officers with sniffer dogs trained to find human remains were sent in to track down clues to the nine-year-old’s disappearance.
The house in Dewsbury, West Yorks, belongs to family friend Peter “Scouser” Brown, 34, who lives just a few doors from Shannon’s mum Karen and her boyfriend Craig Meehan, 22.
Shannons’ parents are not doctors. There is no media feeeding frenzy.

Im not about to ‘out’ you here Garth. You know who you are, who your dad is and the ‘Common Purpose’ - why else carefully not react so long? Speaks volumes.
Take my ‘council’, open that closed mind of yours and consider possibilities beyond the most unlikely solution, stranger abduction. Your obviously not a stupid person, so why avoid discussing other possibilities?
Have you ever even once considered the possibility that one or other of the McCanns might not know what happened, when one or other might? Ever consider if one of the other doctors might not be involved? Do these people relaly know each other as well as we thing they do?

It is the McCanns who refuse to admit their failings which would result in any abductor escaping justice.
If they could only bring themselves to get their self protecting hedonist arses back to Portugal to answer the questions they steadfastly refuse to answer, then we could all move on and perhaps focus on an abductor.
It is their attitude feeds the suspicion of all right thinking people - why hide away behind extradition experts? Why pretend to have been checking on their children ‘regularly’ - why use a fund set up to find a child to pay their mortgage?
But in my view, most important of all, why not answer the questions of the police? They have plenty of legal support to esnure a fair hearing - what are they afraid of?

Either they were more neglectful of her and the twins than we thought, the taxi driver was actually carrying Kate and the other doctors, or its all nonsense.
I could well beleive they were more neglectful than they claim and if so, they should without doubt recieve a much worse punishment (for at least wasting police time, obstructing an enquiry, perverting the course of justice, abandonment). dealt with. I know that he has referred to an ex-head who is now a
member of the Judiciary as being involved….said it on TV when he
was stating that an old supressed report existed.

Just wondering: If there had been an abductor, how could he have contacted them when they e.g. were jogging? Or was this only in old crime movies that the relatives of an abducted person didn’t dare to leave the house and waited day and night for the phone to finally ring?
Did they have their mobiles with them when they jogged? We should check the photos.
