Portuguese taxi driver claims Madeleine McCann was in his cab the night she vanished — with Robert Murat. “Antonio Cardoso, 67, insisted he took the little girl and four adults on a short journey to a hotel where they all switched to a Jeep with foreign plates.”
Says he:
“I later recognised him on television. I am sure it was him…She was awake but silent. She was just staring ahead with big owlish eyes. I noticed her eye because my son was born with a defect much the same. I saw her kind of twist her chin a few times in my rear-view mirror. I remember she was in pink pyjamas and wondered why they hadn’t dressed her.”
Says McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “We are dismissing this primarily because the timings are entirely wrong.”

Antonio Castela, 67, said he dropped off the missing girl and her English-speaking mystery companions at an Algarve hotel and watched them drive off in a blue jeep. He insisted he was “100% sure” his passengers included Madeleine.

It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and those of us lucky enough to have children can expect to be given cards and flowers. But with Madeleine McCann and the schoolgirl Shannon Matthews still missing, Milly Dowler’s stricken parents making a heartrending appeal for information about their daughter’s murder, and the reminders again of the brutal killing of young women by Steve Wright and Levi Bellfield, I rather think it should be the other way round.

As the investigation enters its second week, Joseph Furniture, based in Bradley, Huddersfield, has put up a £5,000 reward for any information that leads to Shannon’s safe return.
In a statement the firm said: “As a company that was founded in Dewsbury and a former employer of Shannon’s uncle, Neil Hyett, we feel a social and moral responsibility to aid with reuniting Shannon Matthews with her beloved family.”

The house where missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews’ mum is staying was searched by police yesterday. Officers with sniffer dogs trained to find human remains were sent in to track down clues to the nine-year-old’s disappearance.
The house in Dewsbury, West Yorks, belongs to family friend Peter “Scouser” Brown, 34, who lives just a few doors from Shannon’s mum Karen and her boyfriend Craig Meehan, 22.
Shannons’ parents are not doctors. There is no media feeeding frenzy.

You are clarifying my point! She simply reported her daughter missing - I did not say who to, or who informed the police. I may be quite wrong about it being Kate who was the initial person to ‘raise the alarm’ but there do seem to be many independent witnesses to this one ‘fact’. Let’s be more specific:
Madeleine McCann was reported missing on 3rd May. End. Think that should do it!!!
I secretly wonder if Madeleine ever went to Portugal at all…..

The sweetpea was my reference to Look’s charming manner since arrival here at Anorak.
I have no problem with those who have pro or anti views re the good Drs McCann and wish to express them. I have very serious reservations about the way Look was presenting the argument by gratuitous insult and degradedly dismissing the legitimately held views of others.
Perhaps those of you who know me a little better than Look could inform him/her how I feel about the freedom of speech.
I would consider entering a debate with this person, however, and I mean this to be in no way insulting and does, in fact, show a weakness in my character, I doubt the collective intellect shown so far could hold my attention span for longer than 10 seconds.
This is, after all, a satire site and not a sight for satyrs which Look undoubtedly is.
The IP address which carried this gem of debate into our midst has also been blocked. If more appear do flag them up and we’ll deal with them. If we receive an assurance this person is prepared to debate in a reasoned manner we will consider lifting the block. If not I shall make it permanent.

Well, Comical Clarence says he doesn’t believe it because the taxi driver got his “times” all mixed up.
Guess Team McCann forget to invite the driver to that hotel meeting the Tapas 9 had last December to get their stories all lined up….
And notice how the driver says it was Kate in the car. yeah….She could have even gotten back to the table on time to go for her “check.” But unfortunately, I agree that it is all balderdash. Madeleine is likely quite dead.

I’m shocked that someone like Levi Bellfield was out on the streets for so long. How many more people did he kill/harm that is still going to be found out? I just cannot believe that the man’s “connections” didn’t rat him out, but then I suppose they’re in the same frame of mind as he is …. detached from the real world!

Of course, we Anorakers doubt. Kate announced in an interview that Madeleine and her siblings were all conceived by IVF. But she didn’t give any details. So…er….is it Gerry’s spermies? Katy’s eggies? Or is Madeleine someone else’s kid entirely? Did they use a surrogate mother to carry, to donate eggs, wot wot? Do Maddie and her twin siblings share ANY aspects of paternity?
Surely the police know these details by now. But nobody’s talking about it. Not even comical Clarence. And yes, it makes a big difference.
Just ask Mr. Matthews.
And yes, we are SLEUTHS, so the spermies and the eggies are indeed our beeswax, thank you very much.

As far as I am concerned almost nothing else is safe. Except, of course, that dear Eddie (woof woof) seemed to get the ’smell of death’ where you would not expect him to - unless someone had died. And that Clan McCann felt trademarking their marketing campaign less than 2 weeks after their daughter’s reported disappearance was a priority.

You don’t think the taxi story was corroborated? You know, like, perhaps the PJ know they havent got anything on the McCanns so they cleverly
concocted this story with the taxi driver. Now when the eventual ‘non evidence’ is presented to the McCanns and the McCanns say “well what evidence have you got that suggests we were involved”? They might just turn around and say “well, there was this taxi driver who claims …………….”
I hope im not sounding too much like klunk Ian!

The Jersey story is truly horrendous. Can’t imagine what those poor children suffered, but I bet the ‘bleeding heart’ brigade will all start saying how wonderful all those in charge of the home were.
Eddie’s efficiency is a real problem for PR in certain places at the moment.

…And the pyjamas were NOT pink. Only the top was pink, the bottoms were white.
The McCs showed up a similar pair. The photo is in the public domain, with the McCs standing either side of the pyjamas showing them off to ther world.
Tanner forgot this fact when giving her updated description after having been told by G and KM what to say (IMHO)
The taxi driver has clearly read it somewhere. But he hasn’t read about the Eeyore motif or the frilly bits on the bottoms of the legs.
