Portuguese taxi driver claims Madeleine McCann was in his cab the night she vanished — with Robert Murat. “Antonio Cardoso, 67, insisted he took the little girl and four adults on a short journey to a hotel where they all switched to a Jeep with foreign plates.”
Says he:
“I later recognised him on television. I am sure it was him…She was awake but silent. She was just staring ahead with big owlish eyes. I noticed her eye because my son was born with a defect much the same. I saw her kind of twist her chin a few times in my rear-view mirror. I remember she was in pink pyjamas and wondered why they hadn’t dressed her.”
Says McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “We are dismissing this primarily because the timings are entirely wrong.”

Antonio Castela, 67, said he dropped off the missing girl and her English-speaking mystery companions at an Algarve hotel and watched them drive off in a blue jeep. He insisted he was “100% sure” his passengers included Madeleine.

It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and those of us lucky enough to have children can expect to be given cards and flowers. But with Madeleine McCann and the schoolgirl Shannon Matthews still missing, Milly Dowler’s stricken parents making a heartrending appeal for information about their daughter’s murder, and the reminders again of the brutal killing of young women by Steve Wright and Levi Bellfield, I rather think it should be the other way round.

As the investigation enters its second week, Joseph Furniture, based in Bradley, Huddersfield, has put up a £5,000 reward for any information that leads to Shannon’s safe return.
In a statement the firm said: “As a company that was founded in Dewsbury and a former employer of Shannon’s uncle, Neil Hyett, we feel a social and moral responsibility to aid with reuniting Shannon Matthews with her beloved family.”

The house where missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews’ mum is staying was searched by police yesterday. Officers with sniffer dogs trained to find human remains were sent in to track down clues to the nine-year-old’s disappearance.
The house in Dewsbury, West Yorks, belongs to family friend Peter “Scouser” Brown, 34, who lives just a few doors from Shannon’s mum Karen and her boyfriend Craig Meehan, 22.
Shannons’ parents are not doctors. There is no media feeeding frenzy.

I don’t mean to complicate things. Ocam’s razor and all, the simplest explanation is usually the right one.
Ocam’s razor would say that Madeleine died whilst her parents were on the piss. They then scrambled about and hid her body, made up the evil stranger abductor story, and stayed in Portugal doing the wash, hauling evidence to the dump, and going to church until things finally got too hot, they were in danger of being jailed, and so they took off.
Perhaps it is only a matter of the taxi driver screwing up his times. Perhaps Clarence was hoping to bring him out now to help keep the abductor theory alive, but the driver messed it all up by accidentally screwing up the details. Clarence wants to cling to that timeline. This is why the Team McCann, this is why the meetings with the Tapas 9 in hotel rooms…..
the only thing I don’t really understand is why hide and, most likely, utterly destroy Madeleine’s body, evidence, etc. It has to be more than a simple accidental death. What would madeliene’s body have told us about how she died? That is what the McCanns don’t want us to know, I think.

The fact is that the last photo exists in its complete form only in low resolution.
Sections exist as high resolution, proving the original was taken in higher resolution than exists in the public domain.
Why is there no complete high resolution version? Well, maybe because it would be possible to discern tampering.
Did you know that Stevo has obtained the detailed specifications of the play house on the steps of which Madeleine is apparently standing in one of the few photos exisiting which are purported to have been taken that week in PDL?
Did you know that the measurements mean that Madeleine was a full 5 inches shorter in that photo than she is supposed to have been? Stevo reckons it means the photo has been doctored.

the real Madeleine. Or at least, the one we Anorakers write about. Satirically and wholly in our own opinion, protected by law, etc.
But what if….what if Stevo is right, and there ARE TWO different Madeleines?
One would have been killed. The other might be the one the taxi driver claims to have seen.
It’s the story inbetween that we’d need to figure out now.

Abraham Zapruder, Soothsayer claimed a long time ago that no one left the table until about 9.45, if this is true and to be honest anything is beginning to look possible, it opens up even more questions as to statements given by various other people. And there’s nothing like a rugged morning jog to get the heroin, oops, I mean, uhm, cocaine, uh, uh, I mean….the lead out of one’s system.
Jogs, water, and lots and lots of haircuts. I’ve also read that hotel staff can sometimes defeat workplace drug checks by drinking some kind of sickening herbal tea.

Personally I dont have any difficulty in telling Kate from Robert Murats ex. She’s more womanly (no not Kate!). I doubt anyone could make such a mistake - unless he was too busy gazing into the eyes of the child (which is stretching credulity).
If Clarence hadnt been so quuick to reject this idea I’d not even discuss it (I’d put it with all the other abdcutor sightings - in the bin). But his rejection, like the McCanns dogged insistance in no other possibility but abduction, makes me a little suspicious.

Didn’t we trash all that out with Stevo MONTHS ago? I quite believe we did. And we concluded that it is possible that Madeleine was killed earlier than May 3, her body discretely moved, the apartment cleaned with bleach, etc., the abduction story fabricated, the “last photograph” of Gerrykins, Amelie and Madeleine “faked,” Madeleine’s name falsely scribbled into the kids’ club roster (and with many similar-looking children present, Madeleine is not noticed missing), and then everybody made ready to make those bogus “checks” the night of May 3.
There was some blathering about whether the Madeleine who was filmed walking up the plane was the same girl, perhaps there’s been a “Maddie double” all along, etcetera.

I think Kate needed that little quiet sit-down after the huge clean/wash up that she had just finished. Exhausting business.
