Madeleine McCann In A Taxi ‘With Murat’, Denied And Shannon Matthews
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
THE SUN: “Maddie & Murat ‘in a cab’”
Portuguese taxi driver claims Madeleine McCann was in his cab the night she vanished — with Robert Murat. “Antonio Cardoso, 67, insisted he took the little girl and four adults on a short journey to a hotel where they all switched to a Jeep with foreign plates.”
Says he:
“I later recognised him on television. I am sure it was him…She was awake but silent. She was just staring ahead with big owlish eyes. I noticed her eye because my son was born with a defect much the same. I saw her kind of twist her chin a few times in my rear-view mirror. I remember she was in pink pyjamas and wondered why they hadn’t dressed her.”
Says McCann spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “We are dismissing this primarily because the timings are entirely wrong.”
IRISH EXAMINER: “Taxi driver claims he picked up Madeleine”
Antonio Castela, 67, said he dropped off the missing girl and her English-speaking mystery companions at an Algarve hotel and watched them drive off in a blue jeep. He insisted he was “100% sure” his passengers included Madeleine.
The McCanns and Robert Murat — the third official suspect in the Madeleine McCann case — all deny wrongdoing”
Kate Mccann is a “GP” Kate and husband Gerry a “heart specialist”
TIMES: “Forget Happy Meals, let’s focus on happy families”
Sandra Parsons looks at “The greatest gift of all”:
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, and those of us lucky enough to have children can expect to be given cards and flowers. But with Madeleine McCann and the schoolgirl Shannon Matthews still missing, Milly Dowler’s stricken parents making a heartrending appeal for information about their daughter’s murder, and the reminders again of the brutal killing of young women by Steve Wright and Levi Bellfield, I rather think it should be the other way round.
DAILY MIRROR: “Mother vows never to give up in the search for missing Shannon Matthews”
Shannon Matthews’s mum yesterday said she would never stop searching for her daughter. Karen, 32, fighting back tears, said: “We will never give up on her. It is more than a week and we are desperate to have Shannon back. Our message to people is never give up because we won’t”
Adding:
“We’ve shed a lot of tears. “It was really emotional seeing people walking through the streets with us to support our family. I was overwhelmed by the turnout. Now we just want Shannon found. We just pray she will be found safe.
YORKSHIRE POST: “Police quiz 1,500 drivers in hunt for missing Shannon”
A reward. Like Madeleine:
As the investigation enters its second week, Joseph Furniture, based in Bradley, Huddersfield, has put up a £5,000 reward for any information that leads to Shannon’s safe return.
In a statement the firm said: “As a company that was founded in Dewsbury and a former employer of Shannon’s uncle, Neil Hyett, we feel a social and moral responsibility to aid with reuniting Shannon Matthews with her beloved family.”
DAILY STAR: “SHANNON HUNT AT MUM’S ‘DIGS’ - HOME OF FAMILY FRIEND SCOURED”
The house where missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews’ mum is staying was searched by police yesterday. Officers with sniffer dogs trained to find human remains were sent in to track down clues to the nine-year-old’s disappearance.
The house in Dewsbury, West Yorks, belongs to family friend Peter “Scouser” Brown, 34, who lives just a few doors from Shannon’s mum Karen and her boyfriend Craig Meehan, 22.
Shannons’ parents are not doctors. There is no media feeeding frenzy.

I really don’t know, but I’m long enough in the tooth now to know that no matter how seemingly outrageous a scenario is put forward as a possibility, the reality could be even worse!!

Like it. Maddie too much for Mccanns to hand so find someone else to take her. She would have been a liability for the social McCanns anyway. Strange, wasn’t it, for a father to say - hope she is treated like a princess. CM is very quick to dismiss the taxi driver’s sighting.

He is absolutely priceless isn’t he.
Clarrie. The reason we reject the abduction hypothesis is…
(altogether now, 1,2, 3,)
primarily, because the timings are entirely wrong.

Re your post about Maddie’s development issues.
Must admit I always had a hunch that might be something here: coloboma- possibly foetal alcohol syndrome or perhaps autism. Also, we never get to ‘hear’ Maddie’s voice despite being first child and parents’ connections with media production Cos.
Are there any links / related articles to this? I know KM said that Maddie had already read Harry Potter ( at 3 years! ) and some autistic children are v bright but have other difficulties.

So if Murat and Payne discovered they have the same genetic dad and meet up, and then the holiday is arranged. They all dine at chaplins and she somehow dies, and it was Paynes fault somehow indirectly,( maybe he was supposed to check and just listened ). They all come back drunk and its discovered, Payne asks Murat for help …………
Come on guys help me ……..

Deb:
If he isn’t seeing patients he can do his work at home.
Deb: It is not good for kids with ASBOs to see grown-men be accused of the disappearance of a toddler and still being allowed to wander up and down the country having gang meetings at all hours of the night in a hotel - having already had a public bollocking on Anorak for leaving their kids unattended in a foreign country.
This man is being down-loaded on you-tube every few minutes in front of thousands of school-kids who already think they can get away with murder. Let’s not condemn the guy but it does not look good.

No, they’re not really, it’s been ongoing for years, but they’re getting older now so I’m hoping that things may improve for them.
It’s very difficult for the non resident parent in this sort of situation, shoved out to the periphary of their lives, all I can do is be there for them, keep picking up the pieces.

Anyone know what the going rate is for reporting a 100% certain sighting?
Is there a reduced rate if your sighting was 9 months ago?
I might have seen a blonde girl last year in Italy……..

Thanks for printing this up for everybody to take note of. These are the concentric circles I mention. Wheels within wheels.
Did the hospital trust have a referendum on the welcome letter? My colleagues and I would have put extra security on the door to keep him out. If only because of the press hanging about all day.
I bet GM is a really nice guy underneath all that arrogance. But I wouldn’t want him passing me in a corridor every morning.
I would be tempted to bump into him every day to ask him how he is. If he knew who had done it and how - and God knows what. Even though he must be innocent.
There’s no way somebody is clever enough to get away with a murder in PDL. Surely? There is no way that anybody is that clever.
I wonder if one of the clever Clan would sit down with the guy who did not kill his wife but wrote a book about how he would have done it if he was going to do it - although he couldn’t have done it and did not do it and did not go to prison. - Until recently - when he was caught allegedly out on the rob with his buddies lol (OJ)
It would be a best-seller and help with the housing costs and therapy for all that twitching and coughing they do. Not to mention KM’s mum’s eye-brows. Somebody needs to show her how not to pluck all her eye-brows out. Or at least show her how to draw false ones on. lol You can tell a lot about a woman from looking at the mother - allegedly!

49 - errrrrrrrr. what? dont forget im a youtube newbie, how do i link it?
February 28th, 2008 at 10:07 am
Rockhopper - any employer has the right to suspend an employee while carrying out an investigation. It has no reflection on the outcome of the investigation, and no reflection on the employer.
ie if someone was found not to have breached their employees trust they will be reinstated and back pay paid (where applicable) - If carried out following corect procedures the employee can not ’sue’ the company for taking this action.
Are your kids OK?
