Elizabeth Smart, Chandra Levy, JonBenet Ramsey, Madeleine McCann And Vicky Iseman
IN “McCain Sex Scandal Blonde Missing - Day 12″, the Huffington Post’s Chris Kelly wonders what happened to the “missing blonde woman in John McCain’s lobbying scandal”, Vicky Iseman?
Iseman is not dead. She is not presumed to be dead. There is no police case. Says the trite Kelly: “Until we hear her speak, or hear she’s been identified from dental records, how can we ever have closure?”
(Iseman was the subject of a New York Times story that suggested she and Sen. John McCain had a close relationship that “may have been romantic”.)
And that’s it. Only:
Elizabeth Smart and Chandra Levy, Laci Peterson and JonBenet Ramsey, Madeline McCann and Jessica Lynch, the Runaway Bride and the remains of Anna Nicole Smith. Those stories were made for cable. Sure, it’s fun to watch a casino implode, the first hundred times, but it doesn’t have the same urgent familiarity; the same prurient arc of tension and relief, like a cross between a nipple slip and a mining disaster. There’s something about missing white women that just works for 24-hour news. Like shipwrecks in Shakespeare, or the way you can’t write a truly awful folk song without mentioning smoking.
Says Kelly: “Here at Huffington, the two headlines are OBAMA and SOMEONE’S NOT PAYING ENOUGH ATTENTION TO OBAMA.”
And Ms Iseman. The organ likes Ms Iseman, too. Barack Obama is a black man. You can read about him and listen to him on 24 hour news. Ms Iseman is a white woman. Madeleine McCann is a missing child whose name Kelly misspells.
In the prurient language of the tabloid, amid a vociferous media feeding frenzy, all are made equal. Just forms of entertainment…

Val, I wondered if you would find it easier to do what I find simple when I want to keep anything. I copy it, press ‘write’ (when the e-mail facility comes up) paste it onto that and send it to myself, with a clue about the subject matter in the title! It has worked every time, and I can create different files for things once the e-mail has arrived. You will gather I’m not very computer literate, so there is no doubt an easier way, but this suits me.

Ferdinand, this is the most encouraging ‘up front’ reporting so far. There’s hope for justice yet.

They”ve moved to Jetski thread.
Out of interest, I saw Midnight Express and my heart was beating just as hard when
he was waiting to go through Customs.Since he got caught how could it be over-estimating the investigators?

Thanks for your considered reply.
I agree ‘when put under more searching media scrutiny they do not remain very cool at all’, so in seeking media attention they may have assumed (if guilty) they could control the questions and the message, which they have mostly managed to do.
I make the mistake of trying to empathise with the situation and know I would be at the Midnight Express beating heart end of the continuum (overestimating the intelligence of investigators) not the soiopathic end.

Thanks, Iv”e just been trying to find that post, every time I try search last seven days,
it comes back “unavailable at this time, please try later”. Anyway, it was about
a Sheree Dodd, who I have never heard of, to the effect she is a witness and not too
pro McCann in her statement. It was in the comments last Sunday in Justice for
Madeleine. The next instalment on the double entendres aired on TV and Radio.
3. Ted Walsh-Horse Racing Commentator- “This is really a lovely horse, I once rode her Mother”.
3. Harry Carpenter at the Oxford-Cambridge boat race 1977 - “Ah, isn”t that nice, the wife of the Cambridge President is kissing the Cox of the Oxford crew”.

Good Morning all.
I read weeks ago that it was a Yacht, which was seen leaving PDL about two hours
after Madeleine”s disappearance, so you pays your money and takes your choice.
I read an interesting comment on Sunday from a poster on 3 Arguidos, cut and copied it to wordpad, tried to paste it just now and it”s gone.!!!!!!!!! Matt will understand what
I”m on about.
Anyway, tried to get onto 3Aguidos, no joy. Can someone give me the correct
website address? Ta.

“Meanwhile, detectives are focusing on evidence from former Mark Warner nanny Charlotte Pennington, 20, that she saw a man dropping a ‘bundle’ from a dinghy into the Atlantic just off Praia da Luz at 11.30pm on the night Madeleine disappeared.”
March 4th, 2008 at 10:39 am
117,Brandon……yes…, the story went like…she saw a man in yellow suit,(the type fishermen wear) trying to force a bundle wrapped in a large black bag(sack) into the boat and was strugling, (or something like that..) but yes I remember that story….so no you didnt dream it..

Am utterly shocked to hear that fishing boats, motor boats, jetski’s and
wet suits have been seen in the vicinity of a Seaside Holiday Resort.
What is the world coming to ?… I ask.
March 4th, 2008 at 10:36 am
Former Mark Warner nanny Charlotte Pennington said she spotted the man in a small dinghy just off the Praia da Luz seafront. She claims he was kicking at an object stored in the boat’s hull.
When she moved closer to investigate, the man - whose name she has given to Portuguese and British police - stooped out of sight then hurriedly rowed away.
Nanny Charlotte Pennington says she saw a man in a boat kicking something shortly after Madeleine disappeared
Portuguese police are taking the sightings seriously and Miss Pennington, 20, and are looking to interview her once again.
She was working in the Ocean Club’s creche on May 3, the night Madeleine disappeared. She is the only person to have given a full, public description of the events of that evening.
She told police how she heard Kate McCann scream: “They’ve taken her” on the night of May 3, when Madeleine vanished, and that she saw the first official suspect Robert Murat standing outside the Ocean Club that night.
Miss Pennington said the man was wearing a reflective yellow jacket with a hood but she could not make out his face.
One police source today described the sighting as ‘credible’.
Miss Pennington said: “I’m pleased they are taking this seriously as it means they aren’t just looking at the McCanns as suspects.”
