Madeleine McCann: Kate And Gerry McCann May Sue Express Newspapers Over Coverage
AS Anorak readers told us days ago, the Daily Express may be preparing itself for legal hostilities with the McCanns.

For days on end the Daily Express led with news - and no news - of Madeleine McCann. And they stopped all mention of her. No longer story big enough for the nationals?
If the McCanns sue the Express, what could it mean for the paper that “strands for decency”, as the adverts say, and for the McCanns who maintain they are innocent in their daughter’s vanishing?
Lawyers for Kate and Gerry McCann are considering taking legal action against British newspapers whose coverage they feel to have been incorrect and unfair.
Principally they are looking at the publications in The Express Group: The Daily Express, The Sunday Express, The Daily Star and The Daily Star Sunday.
Clarence Mitchell, the spokesman for the McCann family, confirmed that their lawyers were in discussions, but denied that any writs had yet been issued.
“It’s wrong to say that we’re actually suing, but our lawyers have been assessing all articles, in all papers.
“We are extremely unhappy with The Express Group’s coverage. We always said it was the worst amongst all the tabloids.”
Anorak has been following the media’s treatment on the vanishing of a child. A feeding frenzy over a child missing. A child not here…

The spanish cops have not shelved the investigation over Mari”s death.They will be on it for a long time and hopefully they will find out who how WHY.

Good grief!! All this hatred!
A child has died, sympathise with the parents over their loss by all means, and hope whoever caused the death is brought to justice (please try focussing on THAT)
This event has nothing to do with the McCanns, like you, they are expressing a view, and the UK media will be interested in what they have to say.
But because they left their children , it doesn’t mean to say they harmed any child, and why would they?
And surely there could be better tributes to Mari Luz than hatred?

Very strange battle lines being drawn this morning.
Garth and Gandolf and Maria are always being subjective in favour of the McCanns.
Me and Just_Me and Brandon are always being subjective in favour of Madeline and against the McCann.
And Craig’s being objective about the Media - which is what Anorak’s meant to do.

I feel for Mari Luz and I hope she didn’t suffer [long] before she died.
I feel for Mari Luz’ parents [and family] loss, especially for the dad who will never forget the way his daughter looked when he saw her the last time.
I feel for all parents that’ve lost a child because it died.
But at least they’ve got closure, other parents don’t even know where their child is or even if it’s still alive….

Unfortunately its typifies the mindset of quite a few posters on this forum. They are their own worst enemies. The McCanns is just an excuse to vent their anger at anything that doesnt suit thinking. Simpletons!
And I agree, if the McCanns were asked to make a comment then what would any normal person expect them to say?
