There are many different predators on this planet, I think most of us would prefer they didn’t exist, sadly they do, some people think we can eradicate them, most of us realise we cannot.
I prefer to live my life with the realisation they do exist rather than wishing they didn’t.

Yes the predators are wrong but they are still out there, my children may never encounter one but I will always do my best to prevent them from doing so as a matter of course.

After all my children are my responsibility, at least until our ages are such that I am theirs.

The media has been fond of making comparisons between the publicity given to Madeleine and the publicity given to Shannon. Well here’s another comparison for you. It lo0oks like F could be charged with neglect, whereas people who left two babies and a toddler alone go unpunished. Is it just down to the differences between countries or politics? Or is our judgement affected by lifestyle and class?
For a start, criticism has been made of children not being in school. But I have met people travelling the world with their kids and in my view they were getting the best ‘education’.
It makes me sick how we are all so straitjacketed that we are supposed to live our lives as cardboard cut out copies of each other. The systems we live in make it difficult to be ‘different’ and our so called freedom is an illusion. So three cheers for the individuals who manage it.

Yes the mother has a duty to protect her children but teenage girls can be extremely strong willed in what they want to do. We do not know looking in on this what went on between mother and daughter to make her leave her with the tour guide. This is not the mothers fault. 9 kids or not to lose any child especially in such tragic circumstances is a horrible thing to have to deal with. Media and the public seem to need someone to blame. Well that person should be the creep who did this to scarlett. No human being has the right to touch or harm another. If you can blame scarletts mother for not taking care of her properly then surely you must blame the mothers of these murderers and rapists. Where were they when their children were turning into these monsters. But that is absurd. Some mothers of these disgusting creatures are the kindest sweetest loving caring mothers there can be and still their children turn bad. I was once a teenage girl myself and know first hand the trouble i would put my mother through. Yes perhaps she should not have left her but maybe just maybe scarlett took that decision out of her hands and aside from chaining her to her then she may have had no other option. But she was killed because of a inhumane animal NOT because her mother left her.

Fiona Keeling as a mother has a duty to protect her children. Scarlett was a child in a foreign country left virtually alone. Extreme naivety on the mother’s part which in my view cannot be forgiven.

Gee you are SOOOO Naive. Don’t you know why they wanted you out of the picture? It is common knowledge that they use the photo of the unsuspecting smiling female for their ‘pleasure’ later.
