Why shouldn't the Maddie fund have helped find another little girl? They're paying the wages of an ex BBC news reporter out of them. Why shouldn't it have been spent on finding missing children instead?

No, plenty of links about the process itself, but I couldn't find links for a) the McCann 1991 paper, or ii) an Amsterdam connection.

Not being able to find the McCann ref. seems a bit strange as I know I find it in more than one place, which is why I noticed it, but again, I stress, I am NOT suggesting this is a connection to THE McCanns or anything other than a coincidence.

Ian... the doors lock automatically. Still, with all the kids locked in the cabins it would mean more space in the lifeboats for the rest of us who left them locked in the attic back home.

Can you imagine the "fury" that would erupt in the (unlikely) event that Madeleine is found, and not returned IMMEDIATELY to the fragrant couple?

How "hurtful" and "unhelpful" would that be?

Unfortunately, it ain't going to happen but it would be very interesting to see what would happen if it did.........

I suppose there is always the 'McCann' service where you dump the kids in the cabin and piss off out, after informing most of the passengers your 'child care' arrangements and sending any pals back to check on them 'occasionally'.

Oh and dont forget, dont lock that door!

Memorandum.

To: Clarence Mitchell, Rothley Bunker.

Clarence, dear boy.

First class effort, these last couple of weeks. I don’t want to get your hopes up too much, dear boy, but there have been murmurs about Whitehall that we may find a niche for your talents, after all. Perhaps you could spin us out of this Afghan contretemps, and other tiresome little matters we seem to have got ourselves into. You could be just the chap we need, so you may not have to rot in Rothley much longer. Haha!

“Brian Kennedy feels that they are a doing a good job in difficult circumstances with passion and commitment and that is important to us. They have also developed a large knowledge base during the six months they have already spent working on the case.”

Usual ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag, eh, Clarence? Splendid! But keep that double-glazing wallah on a short leash, whatever you do.

PM quipped the other day he can’t believe you’re not a Scot. Haha!

Cheeri-bye, and pecker up.

Carruthers.

PS. Hope you’ve managed to sort out that fund of yours, Clarence. Could be a bit awkward, having to explain away a half-million pound deficit. Can’t ask the Bank of England for a bail-out, they’re between a Rock and a hard place. Haha!

Matt... I think he was found guilty of abduction, kidnapping etc etc but everything else was played down (quite rightly) although the life sentences were a bit of a pointer.

BF... cruise was brilliant, lovely to be waited on hand foot and finger for a change though six meals a day and a 24 hour buffet probably wasn't such a good thing with hindsight!

Ian... Onboard baby sitting.... you put the children to bed, use the cabin phone to dial a certain number then leave the phone off the hook. You can then dial your cabin from any phone on board to check. Then you can party all night on the fourteen deck ship!
To be fair there are lots of other childcare arrangements. There is a 24 hour creche / nursery / night nursery, they cater from nought months to 17. (One can just imagine a 17 year old agreeing to be in the creche!)

Probably didn't think anything. Maybe he isn't quite all there. At least, that's the impression the neighbours, etc. give. His brain tumour may have affected him or something like that.
