Madeleine McCann suspect Robert Murat, 34, last night spoke of his joy that he looks likely to be officially cleared in days.
After having his computers returned, he said at his Praia da Luz home last night: “I’m so relieved.”
No mention of the Mirror’s super sleuth Lori Campbell who fingered “weird” Murat.
DAILY MAIL: “Murat could soon be cleared as Madeleine suspect after police return his possessions”
Even his computer - with the Sun’s “kid porn”.
His lawyer Francisco Pagarete said: “The police received an order from the public prosecutor to give everything back to Robert. All his items have been returned. We believe it is another step towards his clearance as a suspect. It’s a good sign.
“But we will have to wait and see. There is nothing official saying his status as an arguido is being revoked.”
Even if yesterday the Sunday People had “CLEARED” him.
No word from the The Mail’s Neil Sears, who told us: “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.” Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.

Robert Murat has moved a step closer to being cleared as a suspect in Madeleine McCann’s disappearance after police returned possessions seized from him 10 months ago.
Says hi mother, Jenny Murat, 74: “Every single item that the police took has been returned to us. Of course we hope it means Robert’s arguido status will be lifted shortly. But we’ve had no official confirmation that that is the case and we’re not getting too excited.”

I agree with SteveT: let’s hope that after April 7 we will have more and more concrete information.
Garth: you cannot have it both ways.
In part 4 it would have been impossible not to notice Madeleine and her abductor because of 14 checks and in part 5 it must be abduction, because there was only one check…
As for a witness to the abduction, despite a reported coming and going of the Tapas 9, I think there have been many, many doubts about the reliability been ventilated here.

How much does it take for it to sink in that the DNA proves naff all? If they were so bleedin sure then along with the phone calls, the waiter, the farm evidence etc etc do you not think the PJ would have built a case to charge them? No. They havent. So what do you think that might just tell you? Not a trick question

And with regard to Chatelaines argument that the Pj must have contradictory evidence…………I dont believe they have. But that is just an opinion formed on what I have seen of the PJ thus far.

Of course I admit that. And Im not sure that their arrangements would have been any better than the baby listening service. They made their choice.
But we’ve been over this time and time again. All it does is detract from the main issue which is imo (and I would have thought most would agree
)what happened to Madeleine that night? And also, if she was taken, who took her and where is she now?

Such on the basis of the “fact” that there was just ONE check that night and that their eating out every night, leaving the children in unlocked apartments – then for the 6th time in a row – had become a well known routine to “all”.

No. Dont take it out of context. According to the staff there was only one visit that they know of. Do you think they were watching the table because they knew Madeleine was going to be abducted that night? Dont be daft! In part for it was claimed that there were 14 seperate occasions when someone walked out of the tapas bar and up the road to the apartments. They claim it would have been impossible for someone not to notice Madeleine and her abductor. Well then, someone did notice didnt they?

police were “adamant” they had found the most “damning” evidence yet implicating either one or both of the McCanns in their daughter’s death.
Portuguese police say they have found firm DNA evidence that the body of Madeleine McCann was in the boot of the family’s hire car five weeks after she went missing, sources have told Sky News.

If an “undercover” detective can unearth this “fact” months after MM’s disappearance, the PJ must know this too. Yet they don’t seem to follow and investigate the abduction line 103% and the McCs remain being arguidos. IMO this means that the PJ have contradictory evidence.
The “fact” also makes one wonder again why the McCs c.s. have not admitted that their timeline was not correct in order to turn all of the Pj’s attention back to abduction again. After all, that’s what they want: MM to be found again. Wouldn’t a loss of professional image and possible neglect charges weight heavily against finding Madeleine again?

Thanks for the links.
A very fair look at the situation surrounding the McCann investigation.
I think part 4 highlights how the press have influenced this case and how easy people can form an opinion based on misinformation. And it also shows how peoples perceptions on how one should act in such dire situations can quite easily be wrong.
I have maintained from the outset that I feel the McCanns are innocent of anything to do with the disappearance of their own daughter.
