Madeleine McCann suspect Robert Murat, 34, last night spoke of his joy that he looks likely to be officially cleared in days.

No mention of the Mirror’s super sleuth Lori Campbell who fingered “weird” Murat.

His lawyer Francisco Pagarete said: “The police received an order from the public prosecutor to give everything back to Robert. All his items have been returned. We believe it is another step towards his clearance as a suspect. It’s a good sign.
“But we will have to wait and see. There is nothing official saying his status as an arguido is being revoked.”
Even if yesterday the Sunday People had “CLEARED” him.
No word from the The Mail’s Neil Sears, who told us: “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.” Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.

I’ve kept away from making any contribution for quite a while - it does however seem like another Groundhog Day experience.
Garth - there were plenty of verbatim references from 4 May by relatives/friends of the McCanns about broken/jemmied windows, locked doors etc (as relayed to them by both McCanns on 4 May). Just accept that they are likely to be telling the media what the McCanns wanted everyone to believe ie - there was a break-in and that the children had been securely locked in the apartment. The story subsequently changed.

It was stated in the sky programme. The PJ handed back the apartment 6 weeks after May 3rd. The MW complex hired the room out on two seperate occasions before it was later padlocked off and secured for further investigations.
The hire car was also later handed back to the McCanns after their searches . The McCanns used this car to drive to Portimao when they were declared arguidos.

Do you think that this supposed quote by Kate to Jon Corner is verbatim? And what paper refers this quote?
The point is, you nor I know exactly how correct this informtion is. Like a lot of reports through the media, the McCanns or whoever always appear to be misquoted. Im sure you are aware of that. So selective memory I have not. But i question the reliability of this information. And so should you, especially before you claim they tell lies.

Until someone comes forward to say they stayed in 5A after the McCanns, I’ll take this with a pinch of salt. It’s been said in places that the apartment was rented out again but no names have been mentioned and they are usually in pro-McCann articles to make out that the PJ are incompetent.

Well, I have to agree it seems incredible. I have no details but it was mentioned in at least one of the TV programmes (Dispatches, Sky, Panorama), maybe more than one. It’s also been referred to in various newspaper reports.
It’s not a matter of being pro or con but of concern that the forensics weren’t done in time.
I admit I know no names and it may not be true. It seems to have become an accepted fact but I’m first to say that many “accepted facts” in this case are only myths.
Anyone else know if it’s true?

“Heart specialist Gerry McCann rang his sister Trish in Scotland after Maddy vanished from her cot placed between two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.
Trish revealed yesterday: “He was breaking his heart, saying ‘Madeleine’s been abducted, she’s been abducted’.”
Trish said: “When Kate checked, she came out screaming. Maddy had gone. The door was open and the window in the bedroom and shutters were jemmied open. Nothing had been touched and no valuables taken.”

According to Pagarete, Murat’s lawyer, this happened last wednesday.
Pagarete thinks it is a good sign.This could mean the end of being arguido, further investigations were resultless.
Murat got back computers, discs, clothes, etc. This happened under advise of the Public Ministery.Material found and examinated is not relevant and not proving anything.
Pagarete advises Murat not to be too optimistic. It is not known yet when Murat could eventually get rid of his status of arguido.
“Psychologically speaking, Murat will never be the same” added his lawyer

I’m taking my information from Team McCann’s alibi. That’s the one shot full of holes. I have no idea what did happen but I know an abduction didn’t happen according to their testimony as described widely in the press….because it was impossible and is full of lies.
They said the shutter was broken and it wasn’t. How many other basic lies do you want?

You see, I think there’s been a misunderstanding along the way somewhere. Because what I think Kate was suggesting was that the abductor must have ‘broken in’ due to the shutters being up. Nothing more, nothing less. So in really, thats not an unfair assumption on her part. What would be unfair however, is for you to claim that she said the shutters were broken when indeed she didnt.

How”s the weather your way, it”s been sunny and mild here today, so we seem to have missed the worst.
Wasn”t this at the time the sniffer dogs were being used?. I know it is a big mystery as to how the DNA was found in the wheelbase 25 days after Madeleine disappeared, but I have a theory which I aired here but no-one bought it. Apparently, Budget Car Hire
confirmed the Renault Scenic was not hired out one week before the Tapas9 rented
the two cars and one week after the cars were returned. I understand the MCCanns
hired the Scenic for their sole use. What if, when the Tapas 9 returned the cars, they
were valeted but the DNA wasnt cleaned off. Ergo, when the McCanns rented a Scenic,
it was the same car!!!!!! A long shot but how else can the DNA have been found, I
definitely don”t believe it was planted.
