Madeleine McCann: A Tapas Quiz, Doctors And McCanns
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “COPS’ 3-DAY TAPAS QUIZ”
Big news for those who thought the cops’ specialist food knowledge was donuts and kebabs. Cops making a last-ditch bid to solve the Maddie McCann mystery will spend only THREE DAYS quizzing the Tapas Seven.
Not the Tapas Nine. Not the Sangria Seven.
The detectives are particularly keen to see Dr David Payne, Jane Tanner and her partner Dr Russell O’Brien. Doctors Gerry and Kate, both 39, are not expected to face more questioning.
Doctors. Such are the facts.
The friends deny that their initial statements contain contradictions. But Portuguese police hope that ironing out apparent inconsistencies will help solve the riddle.
THIS IS LONDON: “‘Tapas Nine’ to face three days of police interviews”
Portuguese police are planning to question the so-called Tapas Nine during three days of interviews in a final attempt to solve the mystery of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance.
The so-called Tapas Seven.
Mr and Mrs McCann, who are both still official suspects, are not expected to be questioned.”
DAILY MIRROR: “Tapas Seven to be questioned again in Madeleine case”
The Tapas Seven, who had dinner with the McCanns on the night their daughter Madeleine, four, vanished, will have more than 100 questions put to them by Portuguese police.
Any other facts?
A source told Portuguese paper 24 Horas, said: “We are at a crucial phase. There are clear contradictions in the statements that the McCanns and their friends gave. Many things have to be clarified.
“The need to question Madeleine’s parents again will be determined by the results of the interrogations of their holiday friends.”
Or not. Such are the facts.

Was sure I saw Kate with cc in UK for a while. So that was it…she washed it after it was tested to clean off residue. I d feel we shall never know the truth, nor facts. If Maddy were to be found alive all the past events would pale into insignificance for sure.

Good to read that Mr Rebelo may be coming to the UK.
Has conducted himself extremely well from what I can glean.

The 6 cadaver/cuddle cat to work stories were also just internet rumours that grew legs and then morphed into fact. Considering Kate McCanns testimony is secret to the inquiry there is no way any of us would know what was said.
…………………………………………………………………………….
Isn’t that a whole lot of the problem though ? just speculating on snippets of possibilty ? I fear the whole truth will never be known, even if Madeleine is ever found

Thanks for that information. Could the dogs have had it wrong! They are specially trained though.

Cheap humour better than cheap metaphors now eh Matt? Insert bouncy grinning emoticon.

Mail Jan 6th.
Among the items they are said to want to seize is their missing daughter Madeleine’s Cuddle Cat toy, which was examined by forensic teams in the summer. They have also demanded Mrs McCann’s diary.

I dont think so, be good to see a link though - it would clear that one up - as she might have washed it because the police had been handling it (not sure what effect tests have on objects, maybe it made it grubby).
If she did wash it before - highly suspicious
If she washed it after - less so (in fact, I’d argue not suspicious)
Agree?

Rest well.

He/she is having to resort to cheap attempts at humour now.

One thing to be aware of, locum doctors can be asked by other surgeries to complete what i believe is called a ‘part 2′ death certificate, basically its countersigning and primary doctors signature on a death certificate.
Only Kate and the doctors asking for her assistance would know this occurred (the clinic might not know - she is a locum).
However, its still a lot and its not direct contact with the corpse.
To be fair and even handed (see, I’m not a pro-McCann or an Anti-McCann!) she may simply have been trying to understand herself how the dogs detected the ’smell of death’ on her and she might have ‘exaggerated’ or the number might have been lost in translation or she might have meant over a longer period…plenty of doubt around this. The PJ will have better information than us!

Lyn 87 ……….. I understood Cuddle Cat was taken and then returned after being forensically tested while they were still in Portugal? (then washed after that) will look for a link later.

Thank God that’s sorted out. Moving right along nothing to see here.
March 30th, 2008 at 11:22 am
Now I’ll go look to see if ITV put the report or anything about it on their site.

IMO this is a possibility..hence that DNA. The staff at the clinic denied there had been 6 cadavers….so what KM was saying could have been a cover up.
March 30th, 2008 at 11:21 am
96 Thanks Matt!
Whilst it was unpleasant to be falsely accused, I always find its best to face ones accusers. Maybe the McCanns could take a leaf out of my book and arrange a flight to Portugal (not via Heathrow terminal 5 though!).

122 was mine and I have pasted exactly what I said below. My point was not child abusers per se, it was bad parenting resulting in children hanging around street corners and committing offences. That was what the ITV news item was about.
Bad parenting often has an abuse of children element, but mic missed the point (or more likely was seeking to dishonour me). Not nice really.
March 30th, 2008 at 11:15 am
Cut and pasted from Ian’s post 122 on previous MM thread:
They need to be made an example of, desperately important - for the protection of many children from poor parents! The UK is the bad parenting capital of Europe - look at the young person crime statistics!

If CC was on a high shelf and Maddy managed to get it, and then fell, and, worst of all, did hurt herself, could this explain why Kate washed the CC as it has blood on it or vomit. [...]”
*****
And IF the fall was fatal and IF she’d been holding CC for more than 2 hours, that would explain the reported cadavarine … First part of the sentence = speculation, of course.
March 30th, 2008 at 11:10 am
93 Curse you for making me go back in there Ian. I’m not clear on the post - did you say it in post #122? The bit about bad parenting and making the Mccann’s examples? That’s what it looks like to me or is it a cut and paste from someone else’s text?
