Madeleine McCann: A Tapas Quiz, Doctors And McCanns
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “COPS’ 3-DAY TAPAS QUIZ”
Big news for those who thought the cops’ specialist food knowledge was donuts and kebabs. Cops making a last-ditch bid to solve the Maddie McCann mystery will spend only THREE DAYS quizzing the Tapas Seven.
Not the Tapas Nine. Not the Sangria Seven.
The detectives are particularly keen to see Dr David Payne, Jane Tanner and her partner Dr Russell O’Brien. Doctors Gerry and Kate, both 39, are not expected to face more questioning.
Doctors. Such are the facts.
The friends deny that their initial statements contain contradictions. But Portuguese police hope that ironing out apparent inconsistencies will help solve the riddle.
THIS IS LONDON: “‘Tapas Nine’ to face three days of police interviews”
Portuguese police are planning to question the so-called Tapas Nine during three days of interviews in a final attempt to solve the mystery of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance.
The so-called Tapas Seven.
Mr and Mrs McCann, who are both still official suspects, are not expected to be questioned.”
DAILY MIRROR: “Tapas Seven to be questioned again in Madeleine case”
The Tapas Seven, who had dinner with the McCanns on the night their daughter Madeleine, four, vanished, will have more than 100 questions put to them by Portuguese police.
Any other facts?
A source told Portuguese paper 24 Horas, said: “We are at a crucial phase. There are clear contradictions in the statements that the McCanns and their friends gave. Many things have to be clarified.
“The need to question Madeleine’s parents again will be determined by the results of the interrogations of their holiday friends.”
Or not. Such are the facts.

Hi folks.
Been out of action for a while, but still lurking. Start a new job tomorrow - you still looking Jo?
Seem to remember that the discussions regarding Cuddlecat went on ages ago when it was pointed out that for a favourite toy, the pictures of Madeleine are noticeable by his absence.
I remember saying at the time that my son had a favourite toy - and every photo we have of him at that age has this toy in them - whether been clutched by him, sat by him or even being held by me. IMO Cuddle cat was nothing to do with Madeleine at all - but is and was Amelie’s.
The PR guru’s probably advised the McCanns that to carry something of Madeleine’s would be a good idea and would also give Kate something to bend her head into - like you do - particularly since it must have been obvious to them that she could not cry.
That is the crux of my whole belief that the parents know exactly what happened to her and why IMO they had omething to do with it, other than the obvious factor that they were left alone in the apartment.
No mother, whose child has gone missing could possibly not cry. Howl, scream be angry every possible range of human emotion would have been present. But not in this case. Calm, cool, controlled behaviour has been presented daily, no matter the circumstances.
If I were the PJ i I too would have suspected the parents involvement.
And as for the fund………………………………………. words fail me.

if you are talking about when he gets off the plane, thats the only time i’ve seen any emotion from the McFool. I agree and I think its mainly relief to be out of Portugal and away from the PJ. Nothing to do with Madeliene whatsoever

Exactly. Your comment regarding the well meaning stranger highlights the oddity of not checking with Jane Tanner - and why didn’t they check with Jes? He wasn’t a long time friend was he? He’d been wandering about the place hadn’t he? Surely first thought would have been Jane and second thought, Jes?
Yet neither were sought.
Very telling. Well, goodnight all, remember this, regardless of their success in avoiding the press and the PJ, one day we will be told if they had gone further afield than the Tapas Bar, whilst leaving their children unprotected.

I thought Gerry was totally different that time he spoke after they had fled Portugal - compare the video of that with the mothers day’ church service in PDL.
His real anguish is nothing to do with Madeleine, in my view, its about him him him!

FYI, found some interesting quotes while surfing a bit:
When asked about the first thing that crossed their minds when they came back to the room from dinner and realized that Madeleine wasn’t there, Kate replied, “I knew straight away she’d been taken” she continued, “well, put it this way: I mean, she hadn’t walked out of the apartment.” Gerry said, “When I got there and Kate told me, and when I looked at the scene as well, I had absolutely no doubt.” But Alex Woolfall from the Bell Pottinger PR group said, “They gave no indication that they thought she had been snatched, let alone by a paedophile. Their early assumption was that she had wandered off and had an accident or been taken in by a well-meaning stranger.” So, which was it?
Woolfall again. Interesting fellow, no?

I’ve read this a number of times but seeing excerpts of articles in isolation makes me notice new things.
First, there’s KM’s absolute assurance that her daughter ‘hadn’t walked out of the apartment’. Why so sure? It couldn’t have been only that she couldn’t open the door.
Second, GM’s ‘when I looked at the scene’! The ’scene’ of the ‘disaster’. Such odd expressions, and so clinical. Or, perhaps, the scene of the staging?
Thirdly, why is Woolfall disagreeing with them? Wasn’t he sent to help them? When was this statement made? Might it be to do with the early suspicions about the parents notified to the UK by the consul / ambassador(?) who later left his job?
And, as for MM being ‘taken in by a well-meaning stranger’, well, they could have started by knocking on JT’s door if they did actually think that.

Sorry lady, your credibility is shot after refusing to answer reasonable questions.
Especially interesting is your refusal to discuss the acceptability or not of leaving tiny ones a la McCann!
Your refusal to accept an evenhanded approach regarding Kates machine washing cuddle cat speaks volumes too, proof positive that your claims to being even handed are untrue.

“knee-jerk” is one of the new expressions I’ve learned here on the Forum. And one of the most practical ones too as it applies to many people around me, be they house staff, office staff, neighbour or client …
BTW where is everybody?
Hm… think it will be quiet here until the PJ is in the UK

Evening all. What a nice day… even had the aircon on in the car for a short while. Maybe spring has sprung after all.
Haven’t caught up yet, just flicked but can see nothing has happened.
Someone got cross with REPORTER for saying the PJ weren’t coming. Come on… I think everyone doubts it, its been rumoured (but not confirmed) for so long. ‘Next week..’ next week…’. I hope they do shift themselves and get this over and done with!!! Other than that its repetition so guess no-one has anything new. shame…..

i’m not sure if that’s cuddles on the wall:
1) why hang a cuddly toy up out of reach? unless it’s a punishment on the start system
2) it’s a much redder pink than in this photo

3) and it doesn’t have the label on the foot
