Madeleine McCann: A Tapas Quiz, Doctors And McCanns
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “COPS’ 3-DAY TAPAS QUIZ”
Big news for those who thought the cops’ specialist food knowledge was donuts and kebabs. Cops making a last-ditch bid to solve the Maddie McCann mystery will spend only THREE DAYS quizzing the Tapas Seven.
Not the Tapas Nine. Not the Sangria Seven.
The detectives are particularly keen to see Dr David Payne, Jane Tanner and her partner Dr Russell O’Brien. Doctors Gerry and Kate, both 39, are not expected to face more questioning.
Doctors. Such are the facts.
The friends deny that their initial statements contain contradictions. But Portuguese police hope that ironing out apparent inconsistencies will help solve the riddle.
THIS IS LONDON: “‘Tapas Nine’ to face three days of police interviews”
Portuguese police are planning to question the so-called Tapas Nine during three days of interviews in a final attempt to solve the mystery of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance.
The so-called Tapas Seven.
Mr and Mrs McCann, who are both still official suspects, are not expected to be questioned.”
DAILY MIRROR: “Tapas Seven to be questioned again in Madeleine case”
The Tapas Seven, who had dinner with the McCanns on the night their daughter Madeleine, four, vanished, will have more than 100 questions put to them by Portuguese police.
Any other facts?
A source told Portuguese paper 24 Horas, said: “We are at a crucial phase. There are clear contradictions in the statements that the McCanns and their friends gave. Many things have to be clarified.
“The need to question Madeleine’s parents again will be determined by the results of the interrogations of their holiday friends.”
Or not. Such are the facts.

Don’t get drawn.
Remember….plans plotted.

Yep Ian, you stated on previous thread something along the lines of British parents leading Europe in child neglect and therefore the Mccanns should be made an example of.
I hate that I retain senseless useless information. What’s your excuse Mic?

Ah! So I was right! You WERE trying to be clever!
I NEVER hide from difficult questions - ask Mods and Admin.
But then I never get any pro-McCanns asking difficult genuine questions!
Remember, you just gave me a minute or two to answer regarding an alleged claim by me for which you gave me no source yourself, coolandcalm has had over 24 hours to answer my question (which I think is a perfectly reasonable question, dont you?).
And the question is about her beliefs - she doesnt have to look them up and source them does she!

Lyn 50. She didn’t say she didn’t have an ultra-sound, she said she didn’t know the sex of the baby before birth. (see my post 41)
More spin out of nothing…… gee the spin on here makes Clarence look quite amateur!

Lilith I’m not across the British papers on a regular basis, but am wondering how in God’s name it came to be in the public domain whether Kate Mccann had an ultrasound?

Yes, so right. Thoughts come from all over the place. Some not even thought of at the time. This is how things can get solved though, isn’t it sometimes.

My friend says he’s not sure as they appear to work shifts and he has never seen more than four together. They were complaining, in broken english of course, that they had not had any leave over the Easter period

Hi
Look at this article
It does not answer your question but it is as sad as interesting
We must keep in mind that the uk is not the only country with such a complete lack of care for children
Mari Luz death has provoked a necessary deep change in the spanish society in regards of their children.
Juan Cortes has appealed to the central govt to put in place immediate urgent changes

How interesting - not to have had an ultrasound. That is routine isn’t it, to have one. As an older mother and a doctor too, one would have thought it important…maybe she didn’t actually have a child. There are photos of Kate in a maternity dress though.

A thought - if cuddlecat was the equivalent of the naughty chair, was this toy put on a high ledge in the apartment…and Maddy tried to climb up to get it, being lonely. Did she fall and split her head. All these thoughts.

See what I mean ?? It’s like one of those “mind-map” things where you start in one place and spiral out in all directions as each new point raises about a squillion others !!

42 Mic.
I’m sorry Mic, I don’t recall making any such claim! Perhaps you could remind me so I can go check. I know what I had done, which was to repeat the ITV News report which provided statistics regarding child crime (crime by children) which was being attributed in the report to bad parenting in the UK.
They were claiming that the UK was at risk of being named as the bad parenting capital of Europe and referred back to when the UK was apparently called the sick man of Europe (though they attributed this to the EU, I think it was the tories who used the term). Was that the post you meant?
Were you attempting to create an atmosphere of ‘distrust’ regarding my request to coolandcalm by seeking to spin the idea that I didnt use reliable sources?
Or was it a genuine question? Its a good idea to post your own source to assist posters to identify what is being challenged.

Did the bartender mention how many Portugese plods are stationed in Rothley - prob about 12? Eating tapas? That would make them the New Improved Tapas 12? I hope they made adequate babysitting arrangements for their children before heading over.

Ian? Not going to answer? So you DO use McCann methods (not answering ‘difficult’ questions!).

Instinct? but I mean having the children was not an act of the flesh, just an other medical mechanical process
Having worked with families with IVF and others without makes a very big world of difference especially with the mothers: it seems that 3 out of 5 do not have a clue.
It already happens with women who concieve “normally” then the rest you can imagine
Funnily enough, they were very religious families….

Morning Ian,
Did you back up with reputable stats, your claims that the UK has the highest incidence of child abusers in the world the other day?
I didn’t see your reply.
Just thought I’d remind today’s posters.
Cheers,

Lillith…. 32 I had a ‘late baby’ and I didn’t know the sex beforehand because I didn’t want to. They ask if you want to know…….. I declined to know and also declined an amniocentesis test.
Nothing strange in that at all.

Thats right. Its like when everyone was going on about the cry of ‘Theyve taken her’ . We were so interested in the words, it didnt occur to anyone that it was odd she hadnt popped to apartment 5B (next door to her own apartment) to check with Jane, who she knew was there, in case Jane had Madeleine with her.
Surel there are few of us who wouldnt have done that before raising the roof with the appalling idea of abduction? I mean, how stupid would she have looked. it didnt occur to her? She seems the type who cares greatly about ‘appearances’.

Morning coolandcalm.
Did you answer my question yesterday? I didn’t see it.
I’ll remind the posters here and you what the question was.
If the McCann parents are ultimately exposed to have left Madeleine and the twins for longer periods alone and in an unlocked apartment than has been revealed so far and if they travelled further afield than has been admitted so far (leaving them exposed to risk of accident, distress or even unlikely risks such as stranger abduction), will you agree that their child care methods were inappropriate and unsatisfactory?

From Kate’s interview on August 5
Kate states she did not know the sex of the baby until she was born.
But did she not have an ultrasound during the entire pregnancy being the 41 year old broad that she is today?
She would have been 36/37 when she was supposedly pregnant!
Hardly an age for an unmonitored pregnancy is it?
Once we were past 12 weeks we were telling everyone. I swam every day until the day she was born to keep us both healthy. It was a really uncomplicated pregnancy. I had no sickness, nothing. It was so easy. I didn’t know I was having a girl until she was born. [She smiles] There she was, perfect. She was lovely. She had the most beautiful face. I’d thought I was going to have a boy, just based on instinct. That actually made it even more special that she was a girl.
