Madeleine McCann: A Tapas Quiz, Doctors And McCanns
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
SUNDAY PEOPLE: “COPS’ 3-DAY TAPAS QUIZ”
Big news for those who thought the cops’ specialist food knowledge was donuts and kebabs. Cops making a last-ditch bid to solve the Maddie McCann mystery will spend only THREE DAYS quizzing the Tapas Seven.
Not the Tapas Nine. Not the Sangria Seven.
The detectives are particularly keen to see Dr David Payne, Jane Tanner and her partner Dr Russell O’Brien. Doctors Gerry and Kate, both 39, are not expected to face more questioning.
Doctors. Such are the facts.
The friends deny that their initial statements contain contradictions. But Portuguese police hope that ironing out apparent inconsistencies will help solve the riddle.
THIS IS LONDON: “‘Tapas Nine’ to face three days of police interviews”
Portuguese police are planning to question the so-called Tapas Nine during three days of interviews in a final attempt to solve the mystery of Madeleine McCann’s disappearance.
The so-called Tapas Seven.
Mr and Mrs McCann, who are both still official suspects, are not expected to be questioned.”
DAILY MIRROR: “Tapas Seven to be questioned again in Madeleine case”
The Tapas Seven, who had dinner with the McCanns on the night their daughter Madeleine, four, vanished, will have more than 100 questions put to them by Portuguese police.
Any other facts?
A source told Portuguese paper 24 Horas, said: “We are at a crucial phase. There are clear contradictions in the statements that the McCanns and their friends gave. Many things have to be clarified.
“The need to question Madeleine’s parents again will be determined by the results of the interrogations of their holiday friends.”
Or not. Such are the facts.

Morning Ian,
Did you back up with reputable stats, your claims that the UK has the highest incidence of child abusers in the world the other day?
I didn’t see your reply.
Just thought I’d remind today’s posters.
Cheers,
Mic
Yesterday I said…

If you stick your kid in the middle of the road and a drunk hits her or him, the drunk is wrong of course, but so are you.
The McCanns cannot rely on the world to protect their children, it shows immaturity -these people are poor parents and incredibly naive for Doctors! I suspect they have spent too long in academic circles and, frankly, need parental training.
They need to be made an example of, desperately important - for the protection of many children from poor parents! The UK is the bad parenting capital of Europe - look at the young person crime statistics!
I was referring to young person crime. mic took this to be about child abusers An honest mistake or trying to dishonour me?
Anyway, I remain 103% behind my post from yesterday and the statistics were on an ITV report - sourced, I believe, form the EU.
I’ll see if I can find anything on ITV.com. Thanks mic, this is proving useful.

Kate must miss CC as it was always with her! Does she have another one, or am I seeing things!

If CC was on a high shelf and Maddy managed to get it, and then fell, and, worst of all, did hurt herself, could this explain why Kate washed the CC as it has blood on it or vomit. I remember reading somewhere that Kate had washed CC. Don’t know how valid this would be and how someone saw the CC drying.

82 Ian, it was my definition of a big comment so I’m surprised that you don’t remember it. I went to bed around comment 109 so it was before that. Don’t make me go back there brother.

Yes sorry I do waffle - I get cross and the fingers fly over the keys (typing errors everywhere!).
But I do post heartfelt words directly from within! I’ll go look - so mic wins, but I hate being accused of the kind of low life tactics used by ‘blind faithers’. They know how to play me dont they!

But you are refusing to state your position regarding the McCann method of child care, so we dont know your view on it.
We know you ’support’ the McCanns, but you fail to explain WHY. A common trait of all so-called Pro-McCanners.
Making silly allegations of people here working for the PJ is - well - silly!
If anything many of us are in effect working for children.
You and I know who we are, surely you can be sure that my beliefs are 103% genuine. I’m trying to ascertain if yours are to.
If you ask me the same question I am asking you, I answer simply, from the heart, the ‘child care’ methods of the McCanns are, to me, totally unacceptable. 4 and under is too young for children to be left alone together unchecked in an unsecured ‘public apartment’. Even at home I’d not leave my front door open and sit in the garden, with the kids in a bedroom upstairs.
Did you notive they said (via a spokesperson) on one report that I read, ‘no valuables had been taken’!!

A thought - if cuddlecat was the equivalent of the naughty chair, was this toy put on a high ledge in the apartment…and Maddy tried to climb up to get it, being lonely. Did she fall and split her head. All these thoughts.
****
A thought as valid as many other thoughts we have. Would explain a tiny little detail: why were they insisting [amongst others] that she’d been abducted BECAUSE CC was on a high shelf and not in her bed or gone with her …

67 No Ian dont have post number but recall the comment because your posts are entertaining and to the point when you’re not waffling. Britain leading world in crap parenting and Mccanns made example of as deterrent. That was the jist. Please dont make me sift through the garbage. I’m an honest and productive human being (no really) and I dont deserve it.

Morning all
Penster, there’s to be prog on UK tv about the US view on the London killings among UK youth, apparently it states (as yet unseen) that UK parents are letting their sprog run riot.
BUT there is a very worrying trend over here that children are ruling families, whether its a result of people unable to control their children, or a result of PC not allowing parents to bring up children remains to be seen. The present govt is seriously an interferring nanny state.
You see families in supermarkets, toddler throws a tantrum, whatever the parents do to stop it they are seen as wrong…but toddlers have always thrown tantrums

Do you have the post number? I know I said the McCann thing, as I do think they definitely need to be made an example of, they are ideal, high profile, middle class, Doctors….Justice being seen to be done and being done.
Perfect - their example could prevent many deaths as the lack of action to correct them could cause many. Just as they seek to use their ‘fame’ to draw attention to recovery mechanisms, the same ‘fame’ could strike the very heart, the very causes, that children are at risk in the first place.
If they said ‘FFS DO NOT do what we did!’ I’d be behind them 100% - its all they have to do to turn the tide.

Matt 60 why are the anti-McCanns so suspicious / neurotic about opposing views? Why does anyone who disagrees have to be seen as paid / plotting / disrupting?
We could say the same about all of you. Are you subversives paid by the PJ to put their theories out on the internet?
Hmmmmmmm. Thinking about it maybe its true! It’s been suggested several times on another forum……

So, unsourced, do you beleive that it is acceptable to leave little children unattended in the now well known manner of the McCanns?
Is this an unreasonable question? ‘Yes its acceptable’ or ‘No its not acceptable’ - yes or no, how easy is this to respond to (I’d prefer a fuller answer as I dont want to be accused of posting a leading question unfairly - I’m trying to make it easier for you).
Is ‘mic’ your own bully by the way - or is this an unexpected pro-McCann ’spin attempt’?
