KATE and Gerry McCann may risk arrest by returning to Portugal for the one-year anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.
The couple are prepared to take the chance in a last ditch attempt to revive interest in four-year-old Maddie, missing since May 3.

The doctors, both 39, left the Praia da Luz resort last September – 48 hours after being made official suspects over the mystery.

Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “They want to be there for the first anniversary. Going out there would send the strongest possible message that Madeleine could still be alive and the search for her should continue.”

Almost as troublesome was the story’s unforeseen and unintended resemblance to a real-life case of child kidnapping that hit the headlines in the months it was being filmed. That was the disappearance in Portugal last year of British girl Madeleine McCann, who was of a similar age and appearance to the film’s kidnapping victim and had a name eerily similar to the character in the Lehane novel, Amanda McCready.
McCready has disappeared amid the squalor of her south Boston neighbourhood. The police are out in formation, as are the television news vans, antennas raised high, all but trembling for blood.

it is clear to me that someone (if not more than one) is lying and that something is being covered up for some reason. I personally don’t believe that JT saw a stranger; if she saw someone, it was someone she knew, who could have been carrying the child and her reported sighting is to protect that someone, in case Wilkins had seen it. Why? I don’t know yet.

I wish I didnt have those feelings towards them because hate is as much as a bond as love.
I detest them because they play victims when the only one victim here is Madeleine.
It just happens,their social class IS an aggravating factor,yes,but this is not the main cause of my reject

Yes, I do like Woody Allen, Sleepers and Annie Hall two of my favourites. He had a
very strange relationship with Mia Farrow, they never lived together but both lived in
Central Park.I was upset that he chose to have a fling with someone so young, don”t think his reputation ever recovered. Meant to say before Gone With the Wind is also
a favourite.

But then Daisy, what strong reason, can make a friend lie to the police, other than also trying to save his own skin? It is very risky.
They are said to have been drinking what I call much, if the quantities we were given in the newspapers are accurate. It could have altered their judgement, and make them unconscious of the consequences.
Or is it friendship only that made them back up the story? (if it isn’t the truth).

noseycow earlier. Honestly, if we are meant to believe what she saw , she must think
we were all born yesterday. It has crossed my mind that rather than to help the
McCanns as she proclaims, it is more to help her partner. Over the past few weeks I
have read on different forums that Oldfield flew back to Portugal, two of the Tapas 7
have jumped ship, and the latest, that one of the Tapas 7 is refusing to arrange a date for the interview. Oh, and two of the Tapas 7 are to be made arguidos!!!!!

I agree. Any mother would run to the side of a sick child. Hence, I am more and more inclined to believe that there was not sick child in the Tanner/O’Brien family. It is very sad to think that someone could be aiding others in the concealment of an alleged crime and be so cold and calculating about it.
