Madeleine McCann: The McCanns’ Return To Portugal, A Year Of Looking And Ben Affleck
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “McCanns risk arrest over visit”
KATE and Gerry McCann may risk arrest by returning to Portugal for the one-year anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.
The couple are prepared to take the chance in a last ditch attempt to revive interest in four-year-old Maddie, missing since May 3.
Any facts?
The doctors, both 39, left the Praia da Luz resort last September – 48 hours after being made official suspects over the mystery.
Gerry and Kate McCann are Doctors. Such are the facts.
Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “They want to be there for the first anniversary. Going out there would send the strongest possible message that Madeleine could still be alive and the search for her should continue.”
SYDNEY MORNING HERALD: “Turning the tabloids”
Ben Affleck is Gone Baby Gone:
Almost as troublesome was the story’s unforeseen and unintended resemblance to a real-life case of child kidnapping that hit the headlines in the months it was being filmed. That was the disappearance in Portugal last year of British girl Madeleine McCann, who was of a similar age and appearance to the film’s kidnapping victim and had a name eerily similar to the character in the Lehane novel, Amanda McCready.
McCready has disappeared amid the squalor of her south Boston neighbourhood. The police are out in formation, as are the television news vans, antennas raised high, all but trembling for blood.

It does take a while though to disolve bone and all
Did the PJ find traces of hydrochloric acid in the apartment?

What a list!! but I am sure the PJ has changed questions around.
The interviews will be very tense
The PJ is trained to question and provok “break through”
The mcClan will give in.Especially JT

jass;thats a nice one;as there is no reason to have hydrochloric acid in your home, its mainly used to disolve bone or mineral.makes you ask had they sulphuric acid .could explain the no trace.imo and all that

Surely two highly intelligent medicos should have no problem answering any of those questions ?

I found this while googling something else. It was on another forum, from September 20o7, just before Kate and Gerry were made arguidos.
I thought it was fascinating…especially the bits about cleaning materials:
“Francisco Moita Flores is one of the best Portuguese criminologists and a former policemen. He made a list of 22 questions he’d like to ask the McCann couple, here they are translated into English:
1- Who was the last person outside the couple who saw Madeleine alive?
2- When you left the house for dinner, was Maddie sleeping or awake?
3- Were the other children sleeping?
4- How did you organize the periodic checking on the children?
5- Who was the first adult who went to check on children?
6- Who was the second one?
7- What was the interval between the first two checks?
8- How many children from the other couples were sleeping at the same time?
9- What was the checking order?
10- How much time passed between the last person outside the couple who saw Maddie alive, and the alert was given?
11- How much time between learning that she dissapeared and telling the authorities?
12- Who spoke with the police?
13- Who participated in the first searching efforts?
14- What did you touch while searching?
15- Where did you look for her?
16- Did you have bleach or hydrochloric acid at home?
17- What was the supermarket where you bought it?
18- When did you buy these cleaning products?
19- Who knew where they were stored?
20- Did any of the friends change clothes during that night?
21- Was any of them absent for one hour or more?
22- Will you let the twins talk to a child psychiatrist to let him know what they saw?”

True there is, but I think thats why none of the ‘friends’ are speaking out against the Mc’s. They were either all neglecting their kids too or condoning others doing it. IMO a baby monitor is no use when you are so far away from the apartment, so even that kind of ‘childcare’ is not acceptable. If K & G are charged with neglect, then so should all the others., therefore nobody is going to admit to not checking the kids often if at all.
—————————————————————————–
Yes, that would explain the pact of silence. If they were all leaving their kids alone then no one can really say much or comment IMO

It is a diversionary tactic, they know the newspapers and possibly Sky news, etc will follow them to Brussels.
The Press will get nowhere following the PJ to Rothley, the police there will not let the press sit in on the quiz, PJ wil probably slip in through a backdoor anyway.
They can be photographed possibly even inside the EU parliament, with the dignataries and then a big show all over Brussels.

“CORNER: You can see the twins just playing and you can see it’s a normal house, you’ve got toys and stuff on the floor. What’s quite poignant about it is you see a father sitting on his own, in his bedroom, in a foreign country desperately looking for his daughter and seeing that quite upset me. ”
yeah…in his bedroom, looking really hard for his daughter, definitively poignant

.”..but did the Parents travelled to any of this locations?”
“They never want another family to go through what they have gone through.”
“Mr Mitchell denied that the trip to Brussels by the McCanns, of Rothley, Leics, was a “diversionary tactic”.
The spokesman said: “It is a coincidence of timing.” -talking about the coincidence of the McCanns travelling to Brussels while the Judiciary Police is in England for the inquests to the McCann’s friends. As if…”

970 Marie N & Val:
I am eaves-dropping on your discussion……agree with mostf your favourite films mentioned…….wasn’t there a film of “Bonjour Tristesse” -it lingers in my mind but jumbled with the book and also another English novel somewhat similar…title eludes me
How about “A Passage to India” ……..”Greengage Summer”…….”To Kill A Mockingbird”……….”The Childrens’ Hour” “Roots”, “The Red Shoes”, “Saturday Night and Sunday Morning”,
“Talking to A Stranger” [that's cheating as it was a four part English, made-for television special......very, very innovative and my all-time favourite]. Likewise “Scenes from a Marriage” and all Ingmar Bergman films………:-)

‘If you quote me, could you be accurate enough not omit the first past of the sentence, so as not to make me say exactly the opposite to what I said? Maybe just you misunderstanding me, but I don’t like the result. ‘
- If I misquoted you, then was not my intention - I have no motivation to misquote, on this subject particulary. I am confused as to what you think I didn’t understand, but you can believe this - given the subject matter 1) I would in fact be glad if I had misunderstood you, and 2) if I did, it was not willfully done. What was it that I am to have misunderstood/misquoted you on?
‘If, in your mind’s eye, you have an idea of me with a rope around my neck, could you not put it on the internet? I don’t feel comfortable with it, even if it is only an image which you formed of me, and which you picked to describe me.’
- it was a metaphor, and quite a commonly used one. Sorry if you are not familiar with ti
I believe you think I am picking on you, but I am not. It is an emotive subject and I strongly disagreed with you. As I said, on this subject, if I misunderstood that would be ok by me, I assure you.
I am going out shortly, so will catch up later

1003 Daisy,
Jane T. is protecting her partner Russel O’Brian, who was absent of the Tapas bar for quite a long time that night. He said he was with his child in his apartment, and that he child had vomited. He said he had to clean(substitute) the sheets.
The administration of the Ocean Club said nobody asked for clean sheets that night an the cleaning ladies did no notice any vomit on sheets.
According to some media, O’Brian entered the Tapas at neraly 10.00pm and Kate stood up to check on her children
