Madeleine McCann: The McCanns’ Return To Portugal, A Year Of Looking And Ben Affleck
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “McCanns risk arrest over visit”
KATE and Gerry McCann may risk arrest by returning to Portugal for the one-year anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.
The couple are prepared to take the chance in a last ditch attempt to revive interest in four-year-old Maddie, missing since May 3.
Any facts?
The doctors, both 39, left the Praia da Luz resort last September – 48 hours after being made official suspects over the mystery.
Gerry and Kate McCann are Doctors. Such are the facts.
Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “They want to be there for the first anniversary. Going out there would send the strongest possible message that Madeleine could still be alive and the search for her should continue.”
SYDNEY MORNING HERALD: “Turning the tabloids”
Ben Affleck is Gone Baby Gone:
Almost as troublesome was the story’s unforeseen and unintended resemblance to a real-life case of child kidnapping that hit the headlines in the months it was being filmed. That was the disappearance in Portugal last year of British girl Madeleine McCann, who was of a similar age and appearance to the film’s kidnapping victim and had a name eerily similar to the character in the Lehane novel, Amanda McCready.
McCready has disappeared amid the squalor of her south Boston neighbourhood. The police are out in formation, as are the television news vans, antennas raised high, all but trembling for blood.

it does. thought so.
A mixture of sodium hypochlorite (bleach, 40%) and hydrochloric acid (18%) is commonly used as a household cleaning solution in our region. From this mixture, chlorine gas is produced, which can cause airway damage.
that’ll smell of bleach.

could you, say, dissolve a couple of lamb chops in it , would it take long? There was an infamous killer in uk who dissolved several people in large vats of acid, and admitted it! he believed that with no bodies found, he could tell the cops questionong him and still get away with it. but some teeth were found, but they may have been artificial. dentures.
April 5th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
actually, come to think of it it may not do.
all the other acids do though, but HCL may not
April 5th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
if you mix it with bleach it gives shitloads of chlorine gas off.
you could use it in a swimming pool i suppose.

UK, USA and UN will sit with their political finger up their collective arse, look the other way and ignore Zimbabwe.
The Yanks have their current enemy (they always have to have one on the books), the UK hasn’t got any political or military clout, and the UN are as much use as an arse pocket in a vest.
Besides, there is nothing in Zimbabwe that anyone wants…..oil, gold, platinum etc.
Illegal war in Iraq…no problem. Morally defensible war in Zimbabwe…not on your life.

it dissolves bone because it turns it to soluable calcium chloride, where sulphuric won’t because the bone gets coated with insoluable calcium sulphate.
smells like you’d imagine an acid to smell if it’s strong enough to be losing hydrogen chloride, but doesn’t smell if it’s watered down a bit.
smells while it’s dissolving things though, depending what you’re dissolving in it.
i’ve dissolved little bits of me with it a few times over the years.

Interesting questions, wouldn”t we all like to know!!! Apparently, the last time Madeleine was seen alive was when she left the creche at 6.30pm. The McCanns
arrived at the Tapas bar at 8.30pm, Gerry went to check on the children at about
915pm…..Kate was supposed to make her first check at about 9.30pm but Oldfield
volunteered. He reported seeing the twins, but not Madeleine. Nothing has been said about any check before 9.15pm. Considering there were only 5 children, 3 0f whom
were the McCanns, one of the Payn”es who had their own Baby Monitor, the McCanns
were first to arrive!!!!!!! Did Oldfield have a child? I don”t remember , if not, why did
he offer to check on the McCanns?
