KATE and Gerry McCann may risk arrest by returning to Portugal for the one-year anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.
The couple are prepared to take the chance in a last ditch attempt to revive interest in four-year-old Maddie, missing since May 3.

The doctors, both 39, left the Praia da Luz resort last September – 48 hours after being made official suspects over the mystery.

Almost as troublesome was the story’s unforeseen and unintended resemblance to a real-life case of child kidnapping that hit the headlines in the months it was being filmed. That was the disappearance in Portugal last year of British girl Madeleine McCann, who was of a similar age and appearance to the film’s kidnapping victim and had a name eerily similar to the character in the Lehane novel, Amanda McCready.
McCready has disappeared amid the squalor of her south Boston neighbourhood. The police are out in formation, as are the television news vans, antennas raised high, all but trembling for blood.

Re-letting of apartment….. I thought that at one point there was an interview with the families who stayed in the apartment after the mcCanns and before it was re-sealed? wasn’t there a query over the blood being the man’s? North European male…..

Jo…. I keep saying, the interviews are absolutely voluntary. They could all decline of they wanted to… its in England. NOT Portugal so the witness / secrecy thing is irrelevant. They don’t need lawyers and they can speak out afterwards. PJ are only observers.

Anyway it is a Snowy Morning here - and chez noseycow had picked a horse by that name in the national. Though how to work out winnings on an each way bet is beyond me.
Old Mr Anorak had the day off yesterday - no new threads on any subject. I suspect he was at aintree, probably hung over today - lucky bugger.
I must go and remove that pheasant which has the upper part of its body stuck through the now broken grill at the front of my car.

Then the most amazing evidence emerged on Monday that blood has been found in the bedroom that Madeleine was sleeping in. Thirteen weeks after Madeleine disappeared and after the apartment had been thoroughly forensically examined (or so we are told), cleaned and re-let - the police find an area of blood that is apparently invisible to the naked eye. This evidence could be vital, although as of yet we do not know if it belongs to Madeleine and are probably unlikely to know this for another week at the earliest.
Whoever the blood belongs to, why was it missed in the initial forensic examination? What else have the police missed or failed to investigate thoroughly?
With new focus to the police inquiry I would expect to see further development over the forthcoming days - in the build up to the 100-day mark. I also anticipate that there will be more pressure on Gerry and Kate McCann by the Portuguese media, more speculation and more rumours. Whatever the situation, the Portuguese police need to act now, to put a stop to the leaks and enable the investigation to be focused on one thing: finding Madeline.

Sorry -but I thought it had because MW were so busy at the time.I thought it was rented once it had been “finished”with by the Police which is why we thought it a bit daft to make a song and dance about the blood traces if someone else had been in it after ?Tell me I am wrong and I will trawl back over the News reports…

And as we know the pyjamas displayed to the world had a pink top, but white bottoms. Tanner repeated the “pinky aspect” because that is what she thought she had to say to make it more credible. Or possibly what she had been told to say.
The two pictures, the original bundleman and the subsequent one showing a child, show only the legs hanging down, so she should have said white, not pink. And then, having seen the display by the McCs she added the frill round the bottom of the trousers, though at ’some distance’ and in the dark ‘ I would suggest that this is entirely invented detail.
