Madeleine McCann: The McCanns’ Return To Portugal, A Year Of Looking And Ben Affleck
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “McCanns risk arrest over visit”
KATE and Gerry McCann may risk arrest by returning to Portugal for the one-year anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.
The couple are prepared to take the chance in a last ditch attempt to revive interest in four-year-old Maddie, missing since May 3.
Any facts?
The doctors, both 39, left the Praia da Luz resort last September – 48 hours after being made official suspects over the mystery.
Gerry and Kate McCann are Doctors. Such are the facts.
Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “They want to be there for the first anniversary. Going out there would send the strongest possible message that Madeleine could still be alive and the search for her should continue.”
SYDNEY MORNING HERALD: “Turning the tabloids”
Ben Affleck is Gone Baby Gone:
Almost as troublesome was the story’s unforeseen and unintended resemblance to a real-life case of child kidnapping that hit the headlines in the months it was being filmed. That was the disappearance in Portugal last year of British girl Madeleine McCann, who was of a similar age and appearance to the film’s kidnapping victim and had a name eerily similar to the character in the Lehane novel, Amanda McCready.
McCready has disappeared amid the squalor of her south Boston neighbourhood. The police are out in formation, as are the television news vans, antennas raised high, all but trembling for blood.
Madeleine McCann: That’s entertainment

This case can not be resolved next week.
The PJ will study the answers, compare them to the first satements in May and get their conclusions.
Jane Tanner will be a huge amount of work, I think

Jo,
I beg to differ! Unless you are skipping my posts, I have said on many, many occassions that I want justice for the child and also that the parents should be accountable for their neglectful behavior.

Worth a tenner I would have thought.
Very good ride by all accounts. Needs a good whip though and prone to being blinkered

Two forensic behavioural analysts from the CEOP Centre have been assisting with this inquiry. They have been made available to the authorities to ensure they have the full range of expertise available for every possible avenue of investigation.
Note to newsdesks: The CEOP Centre will not be commenting further or conducting interviews in relation to this inquiry.

Actually, I think they’ll all be getting a free holiday in the Algarve this year. I’m finally looking forward to the TRUE story when it all comes out. What on earth will those pro-trolls do then?
*********
Get lost surely
It really srikes me that none of the specimens of this very rare specie of pro-trolls mccanitus, have never ever said the only thing they really wanted is the truth and justice for Madeleine. They have spend months on end defending her progenitors

Maybe it would be a good idea for Anorak to organise the help of a psychotherapist, because I think a lot of people here will fall into deep depression after next week.

Spongebob - everytime you post you have a go at someone. Either the quality of their debate, the way they write their posts, or some such superior comment.
If you dislike everyone so much why don’t you just stay in the elitist forums where you can discuss with M&A all the low lives that ‘post obsessivley’ on the madeleine thread.

‘Yes, I think next week is going to be a fait accompli. There won’t be anymore to-ing and fro-ing with interviews. This is the end game.’
-I do hope that it is the end to the ‘to-ing and fro-ing’ as you say…I don’t agree with your result (which will be no surprise to you) But… we’ll see.

I’m sorry if C&C’s right to make a point on a debate ruins your nice day.

Daisy - I am with you. i don’t think it will all be resolved next week. But i do think that we may have a clearer picture about what the PJ are thinking.
Why would the mcc’s hire the best extradition lawyers if they are planning to jump on a plane to go and be arrested??? all very interesting what with the spin and everything…

Call it coincidence but it’s funny how they took holidays and a one week buffer prior to the interviews next week. Considering people usually need to know where they’ll be and what they’ll be doing when they book a holiday I find it a strange coincidence. I know Easter was very early this year but March is not really holiday season…

I am obviously the odd one out here, as I don’t think this case will be resolved next week. I feel it will drag on until September and then it may be even shelved and considered unsolved.
The fact that these people have apparently had a holiday recently also indicates, IMO, that they don’t seem to be too worried about the impending interviews.

Normally, people don’t commemorate the disappearence day of somebody when they are convinced that this somebody is still alive.
At least not this way, travelling far away.
She could be anywhere, alive, it is what they are telling around.
They could go to church, in England.
They know she is dead.

I’ve enjoyed tussles with everyone in this blog….you included. It’s been interesting to see human personalities interacting and how the opinions and beliefs work in real life situations. One thing that is disturbing is how belief overrides logic.
My memory of the flavour of your posts is that you’ve always been quick to challenge links and posts if they are anti-McCann, but right up to the death here you are posting links to support your pro-McCann stance.
Do you honestly think the plans of the Portuguese CID, SOCA and Scotland Yard’s Serious Crime Squad are going to be divulged in a newspaper for you and I to discuss in here? By all means have your opinions but it really is cloud cuckoo land to believe specifics of police investigations when the whole lot is top secret.
