KATE and Gerry McCann may risk arrest by returning to Portugal for the one-year anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.
The couple are prepared to take the chance in a last ditch attempt to revive interest in four-year-old Maddie, missing since May 3.

The doctors, both 39, left the Praia da Luz resort last September – 48 hours after being made official suspects over the mystery.

Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “They want to be there for the first anniversary. Going out there would send the strongest possible message that Madeleine could still be alive and the search for her should continue.”

Almost as troublesome was the story’s unforeseen and unintended resemblance to a real-life case of child kidnapping that hit the headlines in the months it was being filmed. That was the disappearance in Portugal last year of British girl Madeleine McCann, who was of a similar age and appearance to the film’s kidnapping victim and had a name eerily similar to the character in the Lehane novel, Amanda McCready.
McCready has disappeared amid the squalor of her south Boston neighbourhood. The police are out in formation, as are the television news vans, antennas raised high, all but trembling for blood.

Hi there,
I was here last night , it really was disgaceful, let”s hope we don”t have anything like that again. The funniest part was when I was talking to Karen after everyone was gone.
She said she was sorry but that her attempt at apology to Ciara was not accepted. I
didn”t want to go into the whys and wherefores but suggested she apologise to Mods and Admin on the thread so they could see it and maybe relent. Karen apologised in the first sentence and the rest was a rant again , so I knew she was doomed., but it was funny.

Oh I forgot. MM was “seen” in France [by a Dutch girl, not me!]. Police investigated, said it wasn’t her.
And Clarrie published a picture of a creepy man [could have been loads of men in the mediterrean] and two men were found by the papers that had a similarity [not] to that picture. The pj ruled them out [unnamed sources] months ago.
And a taxi driver told MM was in his cab at May 3rd around 20.00 hrs with a woman and two men. Times don’t match and some other things make me doubt the story. Gandolf and Reporter keep on going about that.

not very good at sleuthing are you!!!!!!
Someone on Sky posted a couple of days ago a very good Summary of Port ugese Law
relating to the McCanns, I didn”t paste it because it was very long and with all this
talk of posters using up too much bandwidth, it seemed sensible not to. Briefly, if
the McCanns arguido status is to be lifted they MUST return to Portugal and appear
before a judge. If their arguido status is not lifted after these interviews any evidence
against them will be published in September. I hate to say it but isn”t there a plan for
them to return to Portugal, maybe to have their arguido status lifted?

It has been commented here if I remember well and so much is commented.
It is just an other spin to unsettle the PJ
The first set of rogatory letters have been messed around on account of leaks.
Then they “used” jaqui smith as a scapegoat saying it was her fault for being so slow when in fact the filtered infos about the letters are the true reason for the delay,the PJ not coming over,interviews not taking place (january),extension of arguido status etc….
This time apparently,extra care has been taken.
The PJ has agents n cover who have been watching every single move of the mcClan over the last 10 months in the uk.
The PJ is coming

I think it was his last joke at Anorak and he’s lurking sometimes.
Yesterday was a disgrace. I’ve seen this behaviour before [and been a victim too].
Even my trick of posting puzzles didn’t work to calm things down. So I stayed out of what was going on, because interfering [which I also tried in the past] makes things often even worse.

So, hopefully things will start moving after the interviews. I don’t intend reading all posts but did read yesterday evening’s posts….. Guess things got a bit heated and personal which is sad. Thanks for the update!

There have been rumours that one of the Tapas 7 is refusing to arrange a date to be
interviewed and two have jumped ship, so who knows.
I was saying last night that Anorak doesn”t have info from somebody in the know, pity
really, sky and 3 Arguidos have all we have is the Press…….say no more.
Pity Gandolf wasn”t more forthcoming, isn”t madeleine supposed to be found next

Nothing much happened as far as I can recall. Rogoratory [hope I spelled that right] going back and forth. Interviews most likely next week.
Some posters got banned, another [might be more] seems to have technical problems with the Internet, some other posters left.
I do miss Patch and PeterO [as well as some others].

I dont think they want too much publicity over the interviews, to avoid being drowned by a sea of paparazzi /media flooding the place.

Hello Val, the letters thing is being played down, as it could actually make the PJ change their minds about questioning at this time, the strange thing is that not one of the tapas group has confirmed that they are going to be questioned, well not that I am aware of. I could be wrong, again!
