KATE and Gerry McCann may risk arrest by returning to Portugal for the one-year anniversary of their daughter’s disappearance.

The doctors, both 39, left the Praia da Luz resort last September – 48 hours after being made official suspects over the mystery.

Almost as troublesome was the story’s unforeseen and unintended resemblance to a real-life case of child kidnapping that hit the headlines in the months it was being filmed. That was the disappearance in Portugal last year of British girl Madeleine McCann, who was of a similar age and appearance to the film’s kidnapping victim and had a name eerily similar to the character in the Lehane novel, Amanda McCready.
McCready has disappeared amid the squalor of her south Boston neighbourhood. The police are out in formation, as are the television news vans, antennas raised high, all but trembling for blood.

That is a very valid point, if true that the information has been leaked and the PJ had
conflicting witness statements from those of the Tapas 7, they could just apologise for
their mistake in timing etc and say at the time they thought their statements were
quite accurate. However, there are question marks over JT”s sighting and O”Brien”s
absence “tending his daughter”………why didn”t JT do that, she had apparently only
just left the Apartment,

that guy did an excellent investigation, IMO. He was independent, hired by CBS, speaks fluent Portuguese and could mingle undercover and investigate. I liked his analysis.

all insults are listed in the English Dictonary, but they are still insults. I said I do respect your opinions, but I differ. I didn’t say I believe all you say. I don’t know if the child is dead or not, and neither do you (unless you were there on May 2/3 or the day in question). You make it a FACT that she is dead, but it is not a fact. You make it a FACT that the parents harmed her, but you don’t really know, do you? You make it a FACT that the PJ knows everything about this case and will nail them next week or soon after, but none of us really know.
You are obviously passionate about your convictions, but so do others (as the persons who thought they saw the child somewhere) and it does not make them “stupid” because they thought they saw something. You don’t believe them and that is fine, but they are not stupid.

Nosey. it is a fabulous farm, we do not want to leave, (google Clarens) Golden gate etc, unfortunately we have been told sell your farm to a BEE consortium and be quick, otherwise will simply take it. We have no option Comrade MBEKI is speaking at the Global summit as i type, he is Comrade Bobs best pall, after Comrade Mbeki, we will have comrade Zuma, if he is not doing time for corruption by then, but then he also has very good lawyers. My one brother is in OZ farming for past 3 years, we have bought a nice house in Sydney.

Thanks Noseycow. I know you understood my point, I also know very well it was arguable, the way I put it, yet I feel I can’t let doctored quotations of me pass on this thread. I am not hurt at all by any criticism of my English, I can’t speak it as an English person, since it is my second language, and don’t live in an English speaking country. I do my best, no more. But I will not talk about it any longer as I know it is not the topic.
Once again, and about the MCs, this time, I think we can be critical of what they did (leaving the children on their own), “spinning”, (and perhaps more since they are arguidos, but we don’t know yet), without being hateful to them. We have to be careful about our emotions when it comes to searching for truth and justice. If we are on the little girl’s side, I don’t think we are serving it a lot by being hateful to her parents. What I feel allowed to do is to analyse the “spin” and say it doesn’t agree with me.
I support the PJ with their efforts, and hope they will be successfull.

When I was a cop you had to have a very, very, good reason to persuade the DI to give you permission to go to a neighbouring TOWN to interview someone.
The PJ have authorised a number of cops to go half the length of Europe and to stay there for length of time. They are not just coming for a chat and a cup of tea. Nor merely to tell people that they believe their original statements 103%, or to get them to initial a correction to a spelling mistake in a translation.
This permission, and the Comission rogatoire and all the rest of the stuff will have been given at a very high level, and scrutinised at an even higher one, and only after a thorough and detailed examination of what they have already got. Lawyers in the form of public prosecutors will have been involved, advice will have been sought from legal experts and so on.
Just wait.

I think that the key of PART of the whole story, is Russel O¡Brian, who acted as the “cleaning” man… But maybe he was told something different from the truth. Then, as the two parts (the mcc, if any of them or both killed the child invonluntarily, adn O’Brian, to cooperate with the fake) have something to hide, the tangle could be never solved

… and it was reported that the reason why the Judge said the parents are not going to be subjected to another interview is because, unless new evidence is uncovered during the interview of the T7 and others, there is nothing more they can say and/or they would say.
If the PJ had all the evidence they need to charge one or more individuals, they would have done it by now … 11 months later! They don’t have enough evidence IMO. I agree with you Dave.

it”s worth a look…….unbiased reporting. Notice the Investigator says the Tapas 9 were in the Bar until “12-12.30pm”, no wonder they didn”t want to leave the children
at the creche, can you imagine them trying to wake up and carry three children back to
the Apartment after a few drinks? The Investigator does say he thinks Madeleine was
abducted.

Bounty - but your farm sounds fabulous. I can never understand why people travel to wonderful places but insist on 5 star hotels / resorts where they are sheilded from the reality of the area they are visiting.
If you go to london you often hear americans (sorry to those citizens of the good ol’ usa to whom this doesn’t apply) who are ‘doing’ europe in 2 weeks.

the Real men leave their wives at upmarket hotels where they are pampered and spoiled, it gets very cold here in June, July August and few American women enjoy the rough and tumble. When they leave here the wives and ofspring usually join them at Malamala private game reserve for a week or so, loveley warm sub-tropical area, near Kruger Park.

Good morning all,
Interesting days!!! However -and don’t want to be the spoilsports- I have a bad premonition. I mean, if the British police DON’T WANT TO COOPERATE, as many say, then, no way… Today a leak, or many, tomorrow a slip-up, then a delay, or many…
Also, as somebody here has sais before (don’t remember who) they can all follow
Plan B: Yes, we did lie, sorry, sorry, we lied cause we were afraid to be charged with neglect.. we didn’t check the children so often (or we didn’t check children at all), simply stayed laughing and chatting while having the dinner… Sorryyyyyyy!!! We sincerely though nothing bad could happen to the kids…
In that case, what else can the PJ do? They did nothing, saw nothing and heard nothing, all the inconsistences were product of our fear…

4000 pages and the judge /prosecutor/magistrate told them to go and find real evidence, as what they had produced was not going to get any warrants issued.
If anyone needs to get real it is you jo, everyone wants justice, you just want along with some others, the McCanns convicted, irrespective of justice!
