Madeleine McCann: Anjos Calls Mitchell A Liar And Madeleine One Year On: Campaign For Change
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “Cop: McCanns’ spokesman ‘lies’”
Carlos Anjos, president of Portugal’s Police Federation, says of Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “He lies with as many teeth as he has in his mouth.”
The accused the former BBC man of leaking police statements Kate and Gerry made within hours of Maddie disappearing last May. These were aired on Spanish TV last week. Anjos said the aim was to give the McCanns an excuse not to attend a reconstruction.
Says Mr Mitchell: “It is categorically untrue that I leaked them. There was absolutely no benefit for us to do that.”
THE TIMES: Andrew Billen on TV:
“It was going to be called Madeleine McCann, but now ITV1’s exclusive, has a longer name: Madeleine, One Year On: Campaign for Change. The programme will follow her parents as they campaign for an American-style Amber Alert system, in which law enforcement agencies are empowered to commandeer airtime when a child goes missing. Ah, lack of television coverage. That must have been the problem.”
Indeed.

Very funny.
Do you think that the clairvoyant may have been invented to protect JT. The could say that the evidence was gained supernaturally and not let on that it was JT that spilled the beans.

It seems like an arrest has finally been made and charges brought against the person responsible for killing Rhys Jones - the police do know what they are doing, and critics of them, both here and in Portugal should think very carefully about the job they have to do, particularly when there are folk like the McCanns, who have agents and lawyers at their finger tips just waiting to sue anyone and eveyone, police included. The conclusion to the McCann case, is, in my opinion, just around the corner. I think that the pj have done more to leave no stone unturned that the McCs

Cheryl,
Alas my post was cut off half way:
The relevant sentence from the article is:
‘The FBI has raided hundreds of homes of subscribers in the US but has found difficulty in mounting prosecutions because the American definition of possessing indecent internet pornography is much laxer than that in British law.’
Now, what was that you were saying about your country’s superiority in tackling paedophilia?

You have just jinxed that one!! Bet there is a pro waiting round the corner!
April 16th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
You are right though, something big is missing in this puzzle. And there are a lot of people out here telling us were are stupid and gullible for questioning all this. many have asked what their agenda is, and they are very clever at not ever really answering questions.
have you noticed how many times i’ve talked about this tonight and not had one pro tell me i’m a loony???
April 16th, 2008 at 10:18 pm
Just got in from work and popped in for a nose.
Just wanted to give you all a little tip.
You can easily tell when team Mcconn are lying. Their lips move.

Cheryl,
I hate to break the news to you, but that isn’t the Sunday Telegraph.
And next time, perhaps you would try reading the article before you cite it?

there is something missing in this puzzle, and to my mind something like this would slot right into place. they are over confident and gerry’s eyes always light up when the cameras are on them, as if to say “you cant catch us you bastards”

April 16th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
maybe that’s what all the smugness is about, they do seem too smug and confident sometimes don’t you think (imo) the McC’s i mean. And the level of support and protection they have recieved is astounding

No stone unturned Penny Mellor :strange:
What you do think?
http://paca.org.uk/
‘It is also unsurprising that the complaints—along with Mrs Mellor’s obsessional interest—started around Professor Southall’s groundbreaking work using the technique of covert video surveillance. Using this technique, Professor Southall demonstrated beyond any possible doubt a very uncomfortable truth: that apparently normal, “loving” parents could and did inflict the most horrific and life threatening abuse on their helpless infants when they thought they were not being observed. …
So incensed were Mrs Mellor and her associates, however, that over the years their campaign has grown to encompass almost every aspect of David Southall’s professional career. No stone has been left unturned, and his career has been examined in a detail that few doctors’ practices have ever been before. …’

It would help if you bothered to check your sources before citing them.
The Sunday Telegraph has no such article.

You know how it is, Chenier, that link I picked up on the internet and it is European…god forbid, I would have to think I’d have to double check any information I read from over there as being anything other than gospel truth!
You, I presume checked the Sun Telegraph for 2002 for any reference to the report?
————————–
I tend to assume that anything on the web has to be checked, wherever it purports to come from.
It does seem to me to be odd to confidently rely on the contents of an article you haven’t even read.
Indeed, on an article you haven’t even tried to read.
Not a good position to be in when you are claiming that your fellow citizens can be relied upon to scrupulously investigate events over here.
Particularly when those same fellow citizens have been publically criticised by the police over here for leaking information in the course of an important investigation…
