THE SUN: “Cop: McCanns’ spokesman ‘lies’”
Carlos Anjos, president of Portugal’s Police Federation, says of Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “He lies with as many teeth as he has in his mouth.”
The accused the former BBC man of leaking police statements Kate and Gerry made within hours of Maddie disappearing last May. These were aired on Spanish TV last week. Anjos said the aim was to give the McCanns an excuse not to attend a reconstruction.
Says Mr Mitchell: “It is categorically untrue that I leaked them. There was absolutely no benefit for us to do that.”
THE TIMES: Andrew Billen on TV:
“It was going to be called Madeleine McCann, but now ITV1’s exclusive, has a longer name: Madeleine, One Year On: Campaign for Change. The programme will follow her parents as they campaign for an American-style Amber Alert system, in which law enforcement agencies are empowered to commandeer airtime when a child goes missing. Ah, lack of television coverage. That must have been the problem.”

Browsing:about the recent spin/leak and how it really goes against the mccanns
Alipio Ribeiro, when interviewed by El Pais in October 2007, said this about the continued criticism of the PJ through the McCanns spokespersons:
“Yes, but they talked with the family and the press, not with the police. And it must be understood that the British press also works in this way. They made unfair remarks but we cannot react to this on a daily basis and play ping pong, the PJ against the British press. We are not interested in this game: We have a different tradition to theirs, one of less communication and the judicial secrecy that restricts us.”For it shows that the McCanns and their team have only the battlegrounds of PR and spin on which to fight.
“……Justice for Madeleine will not be served by a newspaper headline or a man in a pink shirt.
It will be served in law.

Not only the FBI wouldn’t dream of it, but the Federal Bureau of Investigation’ s job is to investigate on a Federal level, in the USA, on American matters, and not outside the country, on matters which have nothing to do with the United States. Why not the Russion police, or the Chinese one? It seems crazy to me, but what I can’t figure out, is how a man like Clarrie, who held some responsibilities in his professionnal life, and who is the MC’s PR, can say such things, and how journalists can print such stuff without wincing.
Am I mistaken and it is current lawful practice to ask for foreign police forces to investigate on matters which have nothing to do with them? If not, it needs to be explained why such lies don’t attract more criticisme on the part of those who relay them.
Looks like the MCs will soon apply for US citizenship. They’d better think twice, the American law isn’t lenient as regards neglecting children.

I can tell you the true story that seems to be unbelievable.
We were all from the same class at school, and friends. Went on to study at the same university. Years later two of us left the country for good and live in different countries, the third one stayed. We lost touch.
Couple of years ago I went on holiday with my family to the city I am from. One day we decided to go to the book market to buy textbooks, and on the way back had an hour to spend - so suddenly decided to visit the zoo briefly, no plans, just for fun. At this zoo I met this girl, my friend, who came from Germany for two weeks only! We were so surprised that we joked: now the only thing waiting to happen would be to meet D. - our third friend!
Imagine, the very next day I was standing in the middle of a street waiting for a person who was being late for the appointment with me. I walked back and fourth. In the outdoor cafe I suddenly saw… D! sitting drinking his coffee!
There was a woman standing near him, and they talked with excitement - she was laughing how unlikely it was that they met after all the years!
I was shocked when D. looked at me, recognized me - and the woman looked at me, too - and she was another “girl” from our class, and they met 2 minutes ago after not seeing each other for 10 years!!!!!!
If someone told me this can happen - I would have laughed in their faces.
Anyway, now I am not going to play any lottery - my “one in a billion” chance probably went on this meeting .
