Madeleine McCann: Anjos Calls Mitchell A Liar And Madeleine One Year On: Campaign For Change
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “Cop: McCanns’ spokesman ‘lies’”
Carlos Anjos, president of Portugal’s Police Federation, says of Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “He lies with as many teeth as he has in his mouth.”
The accused the former BBC man of leaking police statements Kate and Gerry made within hours of Maddie disappearing last May. These were aired on Spanish TV last week. Anjos said the aim was to give the McCanns an excuse not to attend a reconstruction.
Says Mr Mitchell: “It is categorically untrue that I leaked them. There was absolutely no benefit for us to do that.”
THE TIMES: Andrew Billen on TV:
“It was going to be called Madeleine McCann, but now ITV1’s exclusive, has a longer name: Madeleine, One Year On: Campaign for Change. The programme will follow her parents as they campaign for an American-style Amber Alert system, in which law enforcement agencies are empowered to commandeer airtime when a child goes missing. Ah, lack of television coverage. That must have been the problem.”
Indeed.

Do you think that is also the general perception of the british public? That the PJ are extra credible?
————————–
No.
On the other hand, it appears to be dawning on some people that perhaps it was not quite as simple as it looked.
Clarence really did not expect the PJ to take the gloves off.
He was relying on them not commenting.
He got it wrong.
And that has to be worrying him.
Incidentally, one thing struck me from the LSE podcast; Clarence’s accent was markedly more upmarket than when he was pretending to hold a police press conference.
Just a matter of playing to the audience…

I would have thought that they would be far too busy looking out for
those nasty “tourists”…as Mr Bush was prone to call them.

I think scenario I is the most likely, and truly worrying, I agree, but since the British Police are also involved, and know plenty of things about the case by now, it will be quite impossible for any government to stop the truth from coming out, in England, a democracy. Stifling the truth being impossible, delaying its outcome is the only possible strategy, but, according to me, it is pretty risky, for two reasons.
First one, as we can see, it can get embarrassing, with Clarrie getting out of control and apparently dreaming of putting both governments in an awkward and ridiculous situation. Secondly, because there is no possible hope now that the case will fall into oblivion, and that its outcome be unnoticed. So, delaying the outcome will make it worse, as the longer the wait, the fiercer the debate.
After all, it shouldn’t be what we call “une affaire d’état”. (involving the state).
A fast outcome would be neater for everyone, in my opinion. In the long run, the authorities have more to lose by it being delayed, (supposing it is their wish) according to me. But in politics, short term often prevails over long term.

If it happened on the evening of 2 May whilst the parents were out, it could be a fall, misadventure involving another child (if the children were together), the child getting hold of and drinking / taking drugs, medicine or bleach or similar, an overdose of, or an allergic reaction to, drugs given to her by a parent, or possibly even something else.
If it happened after the parents’ return from their evening out, it is most likely to be the result of a momentary flash of temper, a remonstration.
As for the body ’staying dead in the apartment’, it would have remained there from the death (which, I believe, was in the early hours of 3 May at the latest) until removed (probably on the evening of 3 May), thereby establishing the ’smell of death’.
In my opinion.

I think that perception is increasing.
In direct proportion to the lack of credibility of the McDoc’s.

It is indeed. But the raven, also known as Nacho, will never live that down.
There is much pleasure to be derived from the perfectly polite evisceration of an unpleasant person, so my thanks to Daisy and you for providing it…

“If Maddie died of an overdosis on that evening, it would have been an extremely high dosis, to cause the death, and to stay dead in the apartement for a least two hours(scent of death).”
I’ve heard that it is easy to stay dead once you are dead…
