Madeleine McCann: Anjos Calls Mitchell A Liar And Madeleine One Year On: Campaign For Change
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
THE SUN: “Cop: McCanns’ spokesman ‘lies’”
Carlos Anjos, president of Portugal’s Police Federation, says of Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ spokesman: “He lies with as many teeth as he has in his mouth.”
The accused the former BBC man of leaking police statements Kate and Gerry made within hours of Maddie disappearing last May. These were aired on Spanish TV last week. Anjos said the aim was to give the McCanns an excuse not to attend a reconstruction.
Says Mr Mitchell: “It is categorically untrue that I leaked them. There was absolutely no benefit for us to do that.”
THE TIMES: Andrew Billen on TV:
“It was going to be called Madeleine McCann, but now ITV1’s exclusive, has a longer name: Madeleine, One Year On: Campaign for Change. The programme will follow her parents as they campaign for an American-style Amber Alert system, in which law enforcement agencies are empowered to commandeer airtime when a child goes missing. Ah, lack of television coverage. That must have been the problem.”
Indeed.

Dee, I don’t know that they did panic. However I do think that it is plausible that if an accident had occured a panicked response may have ensued. My ignorant mind of such matters would suggest that this course of action might snowball.
It is not a defence it is just a thought that one may not necessarily do the most rational thing.
The only analogy I can think of (and it is a poor one) is what posseses somebody that has run somebody down to think that the best course of action is to drive off? You’re ultimately going to get caught - though you may think you’ll get away with it - and when you are caught the poo you are in is going to be deeper…

Hello Dee

It’s strange that the pro’s claim that although the Mc’s are guilty of neglect because they left their children alone, they claim it to be “fact” that they are not guilty of any other wrong-doing in the disappearance of Madeleine. How can they be so sure that this is “fact”? Surely this is just “supposition” (hope that’s the right word!) as well?

its snowballed for them, probably all their contacts got on board, in innocence, but surely they must have doubters around them
April 16th, 2008 at 5:58 pm
because the way i see it, the only people that have lied, changed statements a few times, told more lies and employed a lying toe-rag are the McC’s
April 16th, 2008 at 5:57 pm

Keep talking….your “footprint” is becoming clearer by the post.
Tell me….it is now 11.5 months since MM “disappeared”…isn’t there
anything which has arisen within that period which has caused you to
feel that your gut belief may be misplaced ?
April 16th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Nostradamus, when you say some of us might be gullible, who do you think is trying to pull the wool over our eyes?

Indeed, it does infer there is worse that they are responsible for, but they had no choice but admit they werent there, or they would have HAD to be responsible.

SC46 - yeah true, i thought that for a while, that maybe they just panicked and tried to cover it up, even for basic neglect. Now neglect is the least of their worries
Has anyone else read anything about a fine spray indicative of a tracheotomy, on the ceiling of the apartment. I’ve read it once but haven’t seen it again

April 16th, 2008 at 5:49 pm

___________
Also i don’t believe anyone confessed anything to the Porto priest. The priest close to them is the British priest. But because he is British nobody talks about him here
_______________
I’m British and I think anyone who knows anything about Maddie’s disappearance should share the info with the police however they came by it, no excuses!
>>>>>gone
April 16th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
wtf - I do wonder though how many people are in prison for longer spells than necessary because they tried to cover up an accident through panic
April 16th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
wtf
Notice i didn’t say she died as a result of possibly drinking the wine and banged head. Maybe terrible injury - rush to get her expert medical attention - private clinic - costs a fortune to pay for and keep quiet - fund!
April 16th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
Nostradamus - gullible??? LMAO
There is a bigger ‘MOB’ of people that would call you the gullible one!
April 16th, 2008 at 5:47 pm
862 sc46
Oh but im worth it am i not
April 16th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
858 dee
doesnt make sense to conver up an innocent accident, especially as they are prepared to take the rap for negligence, have done from the beginning, which if it was an innocent accident thats all they would have faced, its always been out there that they left their kids, they made sure of it
April 16th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
matt
847
i could also reverse that, by saying: “Just because you believe them to be guilty doesn’t make you
a better judge than others….but it may well show that you are
a bit more gullible than some.
