DERREN Brown, the “telly trickster,” is gay.
Says the Sun: “Derren: Yes, I’m a mind bender.”
The paper says Derren “today shatters the illusion he created for millions of viewers – with the admission he is gay.”
We like our TV mentalists to be straight and the fear is that now Derren has come out his tricks will no longer work.
What real man would want to be “put under” by Derren? What woman would not wonder what Derren means when he asks her to “think of an animal?” And what child dares look?
The Sun is right. Derren Brown’s act has been shattered…

Oh well .. see it as sort of PR. They can not do without the media and unfortunately some things will be printed in a bit a weird way. I mean .. lots of female might really like the fact that he is gay, as well as a whole load of gay guys (!). Hetero sexuals can’t fantasize anymore now, that’s all. Doesn’t change his work/show imo either. But it is probably not always simple to come out. Sort of a personal struggle at first, and perhaps, when you are a vip, there are more things that play a role. Being hetero is already a struggle .. (hm, life is a struggle by itself I think .. yes, that is it, it is not sexual preferences that are the problem).
Anyhow … I don’t care although I’d love to see him hetero as I am hetero and yes, I do love his work, but the person behind his work is not bad either, not at all!
The same would have been the case for gay guys if he had been hetero .. they ofcourse love the fact that he is gay. Makes sense.

Most people probably know if I heard about it ages ago. His show is still going and he is an awfully nice person. Poor Darren, do hope he won’t be hurt by all this.

Derren in an interview sort of “off the cuff” said he was “gay”. Poor chap if he is humiliated by saying he is gay. He is so nice and very clever indeed. It wouldn’t make any different IMO if he was married and had 7 children, but as it is, he is fairly happy with his life. Godd on ya Derren. Never have I picked up anything nasty in his shows ever!
