Madeleine McCann: Media Listens To Kate McCann
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MAIL: “Madeleine’s mother: Why we didn’t use a baby listening service”
They making a TV documentary about Madeleine McCann.
An “insider” hears Kate McCann say: “”We wanted to use a baby-listening service but there wasn’t one at the Ocean Club.”
METRO: “Maddie’s mum denies ‘blaming’ holiday company”
Did she blame Mark Warner holidays?
Says the McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell: “I wish to make it clear that Kate McCann does not attack Mark Warner for the absence of a baby listening service at the Ocean Club in the forthcoming ITV documentary.”
Commenting on the comments that may or not be accurate. Such are the facts.
FOX NEWS: “Madeleine: Holiday Firm Withdraws Baby Listening Services”
The company which runs the resort where Madeleine McCann went missing has withdrawn baby listening services at all its holiday facilities.
But it didn’t have one, so can it be withdrawn?
The company’s Alex Woolfall tells Sky News online: “We don’t offer room listening services there, in fact we never have - it says so in our brochures. Ocean Club is spread out over a wide area - it’s like a whole village and you couldn’t go round and listen at every apartment.”
And now they don’t offer the service they didn’t offer at all their other reports.
Such are the facts on Madeleine McCann

Dearest Chenier,
And you whilst quoting the Times subheading a somewhat modest, ‘Alice Miles searches in vain for useful statistics on abduction’ omitted the real title of the article , ‘ Help !How Afraid Should I Be of Stranger Danger ?’
Indeed I say modest because as you know Alice Miles did indeed successfully find very telling statistics, from the Home Office site , which she provided to the reader in her article, which I posted.
Now what was that you said? Is it a case here of burnt pot , calling the stainless steel kettle black? If it were anybody else, I might expect an apology, but seeing as its you well …forget it.

Mornin folks
Anyone heard the Today Programme 7.20aam ish with Evan Davies interviewing Rachel Oldfield and Steve Kingstone, and advertising the programme this evening?
More questions for the BBC re lack of balance in reporting.
Why not mention Clarence Mitchell’s statements which also appear to break the Portuguese Secrecy Act?
Why not clarify what the Portuguese Secrecy Act covers and how it is typically treated by police and media in the European countries which have this system.?
Why not question R Oldfield’s accusations of police leaks and mention the recent complaint and denial from Anjos, Head of Portuguese Police Union about Clearance’s claims of leaks from the PJ (re Mummy why did you not come to us when we were crying)
Why give an open goal to R Oldfield’s accusations against PJ leaks?
Why insinuate that a ’senior figure in Portugal with direct knowledge of the investigation’ was a response to R. Oldfield’s accusations when it appears notto be a response from the police but from the President of the Portuguese Order of Lawyers, Antonio Marinho e Pinto?. (BTW is he in the pay of Mcteam) ?
Why not state when Pinto’s comment was made instead of insinuating it is a response to R. Oldfield’s accusations ?

Solomon - my recent experiences have shown me that ‘very soon’ means never.
I don’t think this particular email has anymore scepticism attached to it than anything else going on does it?>

OK, so there’s a certain scepticism about this email being genuine or not… but in reality… what does it matter?
We knew what Amaral thought about this case a long time ago (without the email). So what’s news? The fact that it says “Very Soon”? What could this mean?
Very soon can be in a few minutes or in a few months… ie August when the case will be made available to the public.
Anyway - going through the portuguese papers today talking about the case and Amaral reminded me of certain details that at the time I didn’t think were of interest, but now… I don’t know.

Lyn, I agree. Much easier to vet people you are leaving your kids with then to vet those just listening in.
Alternatively take your kids with you and have quality family time after a game of tennis..

A baby listening service would be absolutely stupid. How can the listeners be vetted as being above board. That would be like leaving the door open as the Mcs have done. The creche was available so why was that not used. The kids could have been taken to one room and bedded in and someone stay with them until the others came back from the night out. 11 pm is late when children are involved. Not much thought was given to them at all.

The wider agenda and amber alert will only sanctify the McCanns further, and they’ll still have their little collaborators doing the dirty work, popping up every 1-2 weeks to have a go and cowardly attack the portuguese police on the british media.

Hello everyone.
700 Salomon
I don’t really think the message can be authentic either. Why on earth would Amaral send an e-mail of this type, particularly if he’s awaiting retirement?
I don’t know Portuguese but, if I think of what the original might have been in Spanish, there would be no doubt that the text says she died on 3 May. My doubt would be about the phrase “in the evening”. Perhaps it’s isn’t the same in Portuguese but, in Spanish, “por la tarde” would be from approximately 3 p.m. (or a bit earlier) to around 9 p.m. and, from 9 p.m. onwards would be “por la noche” (”night”). In other words, there’s no word for “evening” as such. Is this the same in Portuguese?
April 24th, 2008 at 9:39 am
In their arrogance ,they don’t understand ,it’s them that are making the Joe Public suspictions ,and not the P.J.
April 24th, 2008 at 9:37 am
SteveT 709 - I have to say that it does sound to me like the email was written by a portuguese speaker (writing in English but still using gramatical construction from the portuguese language). Something that an English native speaker would not be able to recreate. Do you know if Red Square is an English native speaker?
Irrespective of the origin of the email, i think it’ll be difficult for the McCanns to use this in their PR work. I don’t think they’ll have any way of knowing if the email is genuine or not, and the last thing they’ll want is to open a public and direct confrontation with Amaral now that he left the PJ.
But they don’t need to use this email, because they have some considerable arsenal to use in the British media. The wider agenda and amber alert will only sanctify the McCanns further, and they’ll still have their little collaborators doing the dirty work, popping up every 1-2 weeks to have a go and cowardly attack the portuguese police on the british media.

Garth 702 - have you reasons to believe that the email is NOT from Amaral? Could you elaborate? I’m always fascinated by your insights…

I would be very surprised if the ex-head of the investigation would make any comment about this case to a web site. Particularly regarding all the claims made against him.

Maybe one should assume that he would get into trouble if true. So can we expect a paper quoting the e-mail, followed by a denial from Amaral?

Im off, Garth, can you explain the 9:10 timing clash created by Gerry? I’ll pick up your answer later.

My recommendation = forget that message. Be very prepared for the unprecedented media outreach campaign that will start building up from now until 3rd of May and is designed to further sanctify the McCanns.
Watch and learn how PR and politics are enemies justice.
