Tobacco Makes Breathalyzer Tests Useless
A breathalyser test made right after someone has puffed on a cigarette was thought to be unreliable, and thus inadmissible in a court of law.

true..my brother is a cop and he says it definately does make the test unreliable so they will always wait up to 20 minutes for a reading if you have had a smoke or a drink..
always say you have had and make them wait 20 minutes anyway would be my advice..

Speaking as one who has been bagged in the UK recently, I can say that the plod will not breathalize you for 20 minutes after a cigarette or an alchoholic drink
