BBC Radio: Rachael Oldfield, who was with Kate and Gerry McCann in Portugal, is on the radio. Says she:
“We were made to understand we could face two years in prison for speaking out, so as a group we’ve not said anything from day one.
But people did talk? And there was a spokesperson?
“And there have been all these rumours flying around and leaks from sources close to the PJ [the Policia Judiciaria - Portuguese police].”
Asked to characterise police actions, she replied: “Well, double standards. They leaked information and these rumours which have flown around for the past year…
“We would have loved to have put the record straight.”
What of Robert Murat?
Separately, a senior figure in Portugal with direct knowledge of the investigation has told a BBC Radio 4 documentary there is only a slim chance of murder or manslaughter charges being filed against Kate and Gerry McCann or Robert Murat, the third arguido.

The Helping to Find Madeleine group, which is affiliated to her parents’ official organisation, has called its campaign Lighting the Way Home.
Member Maxine Harris, of Market Harborough, said: “Just light a candle or leave an outside light on - that is what we would like people to do.
Like for Elijah. Is it energy efficient?
“We are concerned with keeping Madeleine’s profile high and making sure people don’t forget her.”

There seems to be no evidence for a head injury. Why would she be able to cry if she suffered a serious head injury?

They dont trust the PJ. I honestly believe that they think the PJ might be ‘bending’ some truths. No matter how good a lawyer it wont help you if evidence has been planted. They dont trust them and thats why they wont go back until the status is lifted. And they are quite right imo.

Then she came up with the answer, as turning a negative into a positive and used it to try and show she woke up on the 3rd may and was fine about it!! IMO

Has it occured to you that maybe the staff at the tapas bar could vouch for their whereabouts of every evening? Do you think GM would make such a statement knowing full well that it could be proved him to be lying? Hardly.
With regard to the cctv footage im afraid it appears to me that just its more of the rubbish that you believe which gives the basis for your formed opinion. Unless you can prove otherwise like to failed to do with your other claim. Hmm?

There is still hope perhaps, that Maddy is still alive, but living somewhere else. Could there be a chance she suffered a head injury and was taken to some other people some distance away for care, and possible adoption. If she is not the natural child, this could stand quite reasonably so. Hence the mileage on the hire car.

If they are innocent and can explain any evidence that the PJ may or may not have (Clarrie), what is the problem. They have the best lawyers money can buy and it has got to be better for them to go back voluntarily than wait for EAWs.
On the radio program last night it was stated that they have to decide this week whether they are going to go back to Portugal for thre reconstruction. Do you think the PJ dont have a plan B for when they refuse?
