Madleine McCann: Rachel Oldfield Knows, Doctors And Gerry McCann
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MAIL: “Stop the carnival”
It’s Richard Littlejohn:
I’ve always been uneasy about the media carnival, but figured if that’s what got her parents through the night, what business was it of mine.
However, one year on, there’s something distasteful about the continuing round of claim and counter-claim, blame and counter-blame.
Gerry and Kate McCann should be left alone with their demons, with our sympathy, and not live out their guilt in public any longer. The police and the private detectives should be left to get on with their job.
The Tapas Seven, the McCanns’ PR man, the professional ghouls should all keep their theories to themselves.
And their opinions?
DAILY MIRROR: “Rachael Oldfield of the Tapas Seven breaks her silence over McCann’s torment”
Tapas Seven? And why speak now?
Rachael Oldfield, a 36-year-old recruitment consultant, said: “I was there on the night. I spent time with Gerry and Kate during the week before May 3 and after.
What happened?
“Their emotions and their reactions were just agonising. There’s just no way they were involved in anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance.
“If you take the common sense approach and look at timings and the fact they are medics and there are four other medics in the group, they would know what to do to resuscitate a child.
Common sense? Doctors. Such are the facts.
“Anyone with an ounce of common sense would be able to see they couldn’t have done it. And I was there and I know they didn’t do it.”
DAILY STAR: “OUTRAGEOUS”
Rachel Oldfield has a pop at the Portuguese police, and complains about being bound by law to, er, keep quiet.
GLASGOW DAILY RECORD: “McCanns’ Anger At Being Kept In The Dark”
Says Gerry McCann: “I think it’s safe to say we’re getting very little information. We haven’t had any communication in terms of what’s been done in the investigation.”
“We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’ve always said we want to leave no stone unturned and to do that we need to know which stones have already been overturned.”
THE SUN: “Stop shifting blame, Kate”
IS it just me or are the McCanns getting on your nerves too?
It’s you. It’s them. It might be all of you.
Now, in a new TV documentary, Kate says that she wanted a baby monitor but the resort didn’t have one. So instead she, Gerry and the Tapas Seven made the bizarre decision to eat out every night and leave three young children home alone. I’m sorry, in any language that’s child neglect.
Sorry? Why is Gaunt sorry?
And, by the way, I’m not being heartless, just honest.
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s father: police gave up”
Mr McCann tells BBC Radio 4 interviewer Steve Kingstone: “We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’d like know who has been eliminated from the inquiry and on what grounds and what leads are still being followed.”
No news is news

If you are taking the truth FOR MADELEINE as a revenge then you said it all
Pathetic
++++++
Are you [deliberately] misinterpreting what I wrote?
The truth about what happened to Madeleine, won’t be in the book. Right or wrong, it’s merely his theory.
The truth AND far more important JUSTICE about and for what happened to Madeleine, will only be established in a court. Not by a greedy revengefull little hitler, who after 26 years in the police force only made it to inspector…. Hardly a brilliant carreer I’d call that! And now trying to cash money on the stupid mistakes he himself made during the investigation. Incredible and unethical! YUK!

” Freedom of speech, have you ever heard the concept? ”
It does not apply to officers who want to talk over their work. They are obliged to discretion and confidentiality. If they don’t obey, they chance their pension, for the very least.
April 27th, 2008 at 9:53 am
By the way,Gerry is saying they dont know what the PJ is doing in regard of Madeleine”s search
Well, for example, they (PJ) want a reconstruction which is a part of any criminal investigation but…… they refuse to go to portugal.Scared to have the thruth brutally broadcasted?

” I trust Amarals book will be rather accurate actually-hence the mccanns worries about it- and will be published after the secrecy is lifted ”
Get real. He will never get permission to publish results from the investigation he was involved in. Even if retired, a former police officer still has to obey some rules. He had to take the oath of office. He cannot privately cash in on the information he gathered while working as an official for the state on a particular case.

For a child of Maddy’s age to cry for a long time, only implies she had a reason to cry.
She may have felt unwell too. The bead could have got stuck up her nose or in her ear. Still think there is something very suspicious about the crying for so long. As pointed out by another poster, children forget the night before as it is a new day for them.

Can only imagine the publishers and lawyers shall redraft it many times to avoid libel
********
Surely they will! but a good linguistic can make his/her way through to let the truth to be understood between the lines without being libelous

“In reaction to the news, the spokesman for McCann, Clarence Mitchell, believes that the publication will serve “only to make money,” which finds to be “sad”. Mitchell threatened with proceedings for slander and defamation on Gonçalo Amaral.”

They really do NOT want the truth for Madeleine, dont they?
April 27th, 2008 at 9:24 am
No jo Clarry is not being sued for anything. The problem is clear, you and others are declaring the McCanns guilty, before any one knows the evidence, if any. In reality your bigotry is your own problem, it is just a pity that so many share it, with no thought for the damage done.

Andrea Says:

Chenier,
Don’t you think it is interesting that Madeleine apparently asked why Kate did not come though when she and Sean were crying? It was obviously then an unusual situation, for them not to come. And children with parents who do not respond when they cry wouldn’t really continue for a long time. They would know a parent was not likely to come. Kind of liek the sleep training people do with babies. Eventually they apparently give up. Children only cry if they expect somebody to come. If the McCanns were not responsive to their children most of the time, Madeleine would not have cried so long that night.
If the newspapers wanted to imply continued neglect, then they also opened up another line of thought. The little girl was used to being responded to.
***********
Andrea, the above is only logical if you actually believe the recent acknowledgement that Madeleine had rebuked her parents the next morning for failing to respond to the children’s distress - and then ran off laughing, according to Clarrie.
Sorry if this point has been made already. I’m just catching up with posts.

WHERE is the problem?
Does the mccfools think they can govern the world of something?the media, the police, international institutions, attacks on people and COUNTRIES?
I would be extremely careful if I was Clarence Mitchell: he is being sued for libel and is putting more oil on the fire.NOT very intelligent
