Madleine McCann: Rachel Oldfield Knows, Doctors And Gerry McCann
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MAIL: “Stop the carnival”
It’s Richard Littlejohn:
I’ve always been uneasy about the media carnival, but figured if that’s what got her parents through the night, what business was it of mine.
However, one year on, there’s something distasteful about the continuing round of claim and counter-claim, blame and counter-blame.
Gerry and Kate McCann should be left alone with their demons, with our sympathy, and not live out their guilt in public any longer. The police and the private detectives should be left to get on with their job.
The Tapas Seven, the McCanns’ PR man, the professional ghouls should all keep their theories to themselves.
And their opinions?
DAILY MIRROR: “Rachael Oldfield of the Tapas Seven breaks her silence over McCann’s torment”
Tapas Seven? And why speak now?
Rachael Oldfield, a 36-year-old recruitment consultant, said: “I was there on the night. I spent time with Gerry and Kate during the week before May 3 and after.
What happened?
“Their emotions and their reactions were just agonising. There’s just no way they were involved in anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance.
“If you take the common sense approach and look at timings and the fact they are medics and there are four other medics in the group, they would know what to do to resuscitate a child.
Common sense? Doctors. Such are the facts.
“Anyone with an ounce of common sense would be able to see they couldn’t have done it. And I was there and I know they didn’t do it.”
DAILY STAR: “OUTRAGEOUS”
Rachel Oldfield has a pop at the Portuguese police, and complains about being bound by law to, er, keep quiet.
GLASGOW DAILY RECORD: “McCanns’ Anger At Being Kept In The Dark”
Says Gerry McCann: “I think it’s safe to say we’re getting very little information. We haven’t had any communication in terms of what’s been done in the investigation.”
“We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’ve always said we want to leave no stone unturned and to do that we need to know which stones have already been overturned.”
THE SUN: “Stop shifting blame, Kate”
IS it just me or are the McCanns getting on your nerves too?
It’s you. It’s them. It might be all of you.
Now, in a new TV documentary, Kate says that she wanted a baby monitor but the resort didn’t have one. So instead she, Gerry and the Tapas Seven made the bizarre decision to eat out every night and leave three young children home alone. I’m sorry, in any language that’s child neglect.
Sorry? Why is Gaunt sorry?
And, by the way, I’m not being heartless, just honest.
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s father: police gave up”
Mr McCann tells BBC Radio 4 interviewer Steve Kingstone: “We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’d like know who has been eliminated from the inquiry and on what grounds and what leads are still being followed.”
No news is news

This is what Capitalism means, the rich get rich and the poor get poorer. I think we
ought to go back to the Barter system. I can”t remember the Company, it”s well
known and sells Agricultural equipment etc. They did a deal with an African Country to let them have all the farming equipment thet needed in return for a share of the crop
yield, sounds fair to me.

if 2 doctors truly thought that locating a missing person could be done by coupling a piece of somebody’s hair to a radio aerial stuck on top of a biscuit tin, then in my opinion they have no idea whatsoever of how science works, and as such shouldn’t be allowed to practice medicine on humans.
or animals for that matter.
………..
It shouldn’t be a radio aerial, it should be a wire coat hanger and it only works if there’s one of those horrid pink wafer biscuits left in the tin.

103% in agreement with you.
(two posts on topic from Smudd? I can’t be well.)
April 27th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Do you know why the PJ is not moving?
Simply because the british police and banks are silent. The Pj is still waiting, after over 7 months, to have the register of arguidos and witnesses calls and bank accounts statements.
The tracing of their calls on 2nd and 3rd are crucial to know where the arguidos and main witnesses were the DAY of Madeleine”s disappearance.
The team essentially working on those 2 specific points are Guilhermino Encarnaçao and Paulo Rebelo
They wont say a word about anything to anybody.
Meanwhile, are they busy setting up a reconstruction? or something more drastic?
Anyway, they have time, havent they? they are not arguidos, are they? and when the british move their asses then the case will start moving on.

“This evidence locates Madeleine’s death inside the apartment, but the investigators are still not certain that it was murder, despite the fact that forensic experts have revealed that somebody did try to erase the blood traces.” The paper states that: “The theory most favoured by detectives to explain Madeleine’s death — now taken as almost certain — is that it involved an accident.” The paper claimed that officers believed that “Madeleine died from negligence or murder”.

I thought the interview with Kingstone on BBC 4 Radio was good, but all this rubbish
now is wierd. Thought after the Express was sued the Press would turn on the McCanns
when a reason presented itself. Here we have three:-
1. The reluctance of the McCanns to return to Portugal.
2. Gerry”s complaint about not being kept informed when he is uhum, an arguido.
3. The McCanns intention to write a book instead of continued search forMadeleine.
April 27th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
Naturally, Kate and Gerry were also contacted by people who thought they could help find Madeleine. One was Danny Kruegel, a South African former policeman who had invented a machine that, he said, could help locate people by testing a sample of their hair.
It sounds far-fetched. But he had apparently been successful in South Africa. He was very clear that the process was based on science, which appealed to the McCanns.

A positive spin on it could be…that it is gives us a frightening indicator of
just how low UK Journalism has managed to sink to in the last Year.

With all this flurry of activity and “coming out “in support of the McCanns, I think there is something happening. Either the case is to be shelved and those “in the know”
know, or a charge will be made and the McCanns are looking for ways to pay the
Extradition Lawyers and looking for support at home.
…………..
Reading what I can focus on today, I definitely pick up on a greater emphasis in press articles that the children were left alone and it seems that journalists are now prepared to bring up the question of neglect.IMO.

The worry is that she was actually nominated, never mind being on a short
list.
Is on a par to the Scotsman of the Year award of last year…in which Dr G P
was “shortlisted”.
Crazy times. IMO

Good point; I was simply noting the buggins turn aspect of nominations.
Maybe the tabloids do think that she’s a great journalist.
Difficult to imagine…

Hi Val. How’s things? Hope you’re well.
Re the Rich List. The figures in this list are the ones the people admit to, I think, not what they’re really worth. In my opinion, many of the very richest people never appear in the Rich List - especially when of lot of assets are off-shore.

Hi
I was reading “El Mundo” spanish newspaper which serves us today with a report on Madeleine”s case.
I am afraid not much news,it is just a synopsis of what has happened-as far as we all know-but there is an interesting bit about Amaral
Translation
“Amaral has been removed from the case because of his critisizing the uk media and also the uk cops setting up the task to avoid the mccanns being investigated. On top,he made them arguidos.
two days later the couple FLEE from the Algarve and took REFUGE in the UK.Days later,Amaral speaks for the first time with the media about Madeleine”s disappearance. He choose a foreign media: “Cronica”.He asks for the interview to be seen as not as an interview but like the certainty from third sources.
He only wants to vehicle his disgust when the uk media just sodomized him:
-he has been accused to be a drunk,a empty minded and of what hurts him most: to be badly dressed.
Dont you want to answer tose attacks?
-No
-Are you bothered by so much mediatic noise?
-Like said,San Juan,JUSTICE IS MADE IN SILENCE
The article ends with Amaral-our munching sardines star,is sure Madeleine has died and said …”even if she had been abducted, would anybody,if they had her in their power, keep the child the most looked for, alive?
I dont think so.The incontroled publicising of her disapearance, since the very first night and to her very special iris, has been her sentence.
Anything is small chat,my friend. She died and that God looks after her because she was an innocent who has fallen in a world made of pure beasts.Like said Joao Tavares.Amen.”
I am afraid,I wont translate anymore as the article is very long and doesnt bring any new datas.
Only this small bit about M3 which still is looking for Madeleine and alive.Look at the comment about the PJ: “Los “portugas” se siente colonizados”
Y,yo te digo QUE HIJO DE PUTA ERES
The portuguese feel colonised
And,I tell you : WHAT A SON OF A BITCH YOU ARE.

No; I must add, however, that when you attempted to demonstrate the difference between 45 and 60 degrees, using three of his guitars, he did use some pretty strong language.
But no violence…
