I’ve always been uneasy about the media carnival, but figured if that’s what got her parents through the night, what business was it of mine.
However, one year on, there’s something distasteful about the continuing round of claim and counter-claim, blame and counter-blame.
Gerry and Kate McCann should be left alone with their demons, with our sympathy, and not live out their guilt in public any longer. The police and the private detectives should be left to get on with their job.
The Tapas Seven, the McCanns’ PR man, the professional ghouls should all keep their theories to themselves.
And their opinions?

Tapas Seven? And why speak now?
Rachael Oldfield, a 36-year-old recruitment consultant, said: “I was there on the night. I spent time with Gerry and Kate during the week before May 3 and after.
What happened?
“Their emotions and their reactions were just agonising. There’s just no way they were involved in anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance.
“If you take the common sense approach and look at timings and the fact they are medics and there are four other medics in the group, they would know what to do to resuscitate a child.
Common sense? Doctors. Such are the facts.
“Anyone with an ounce of common sense would be able to see they couldn’t have done it. And I was there and I know they didn’t do it.”

Rachel Oldfield has a pop at the Portuguese police, and complains about being bound by law to, er, keep quiet.

Says Gerry McCann: “I think it’s safe to say we’re getting very little information. We haven’t had any communication in terms of what’s been done in the investigation.”
“We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’ve always said we want to leave no stone unturned and to do that we need to know which stones have already been overturned.”

IS it just me or are the McCanns getting on your nerves too?

Now, in a new TV documentary, Kate says that she wanted a baby monitor but the resort didn’t have one. So instead she, Gerry and the Tapas Seven made the bizarre decision to eat out every night and leave three young children home alone. I’m sorry, in any language that’s child neglect.

And, by the way, I’m not being heartless, just honest.
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s father: police gave up”
Mr McCann tells BBC Radio 4 interviewer Steve Kingstone: “We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’d like know who has been eliminated from the inquiry and on what grounds and what leads are still being followed.”

Banks and phones have already been perused.
Don’t know whether a back door method was used for their attainment and why anybody would wish to withhold this kind of information anyway.
Especially if your child’s life was at stake.
Eddie and Keela’s evidence is very much applauded by the authorities.
The Clan had not considered that ’scent of death’ dogs were being brought over at the time or else they would have fucked off back to UK extra pronto. Eddie and Keela are flies in the ointment that laid many eggs that keep hatching and mutating into even more evidential circumstances.

Should be a good week with the anniversary and the documentary, some Team Mccann idiot always drops them in it, Rachael was the last one, claiming that they all knew how to resuscitate a child, why would they need to?, and anyway how do you resuscitate an abducted child?
Then their expecting us all to light a candle. candle makers, dont get too excited.
Then there is the service at rothley church, that may be Ok.
Then there is the presence of two Mccanns in PDL, not a good move IMO. They are expecting a church service there too. The M word cannot be mentioned in PDL, the locals hate the Mccanns and dont forget that poor priest who is probably still sufferring. I smell trouble this week, big big trouble.

Didnt he say/thought/remarked how lovely madelien was and what a lucky father he was? he also said Madeleine was sleeping in recovery position-a normal observation for a doctor-

Were they supposed to have been somehow signalled the moment? So they could stop carousing and all would have been well?
But…all parents know how really hard it is to settle children on holiday in a strange place, different bed, over-excited etc etc. Never mind the instinct to watch over them in a foreign place, even more than at home.
What was it about the children of the Tapas 7 that made their parents think it was fine to leave them, most of them babies (Madeleine was the eldest) night after night?
I just don’t get it.

Leave the body long enough after administering insulin and the body uses it up naturally. Always used to be the doctor’s choice to ensure that the mortgage and pension got paid out when any clinical negligence case loomed - or share prices fell.

I always find that comment odd-I imagine the kids in bed and K&G sitting on the sofa and some random person walking in….G saying-if you don’t mind can you leave her there-Can you not use the shutters again when you leave as it might wake the kids (then again maybe not)-and lock /unlock the door on the way out if you don’t mind -BTW great little tapas bar down the road-me and k are popping over ther in a mo-now this ‘moment’ has passed….

The public have been prepared for their refusal. This will mean trouble for their Portuguese lawyers and would be in breach of the conditions attached to the arguido status imo. I guess that their Portuguese lawyers might be out of a job soon imo.

Popped down the bottom my garden earlier. I have a grotto there where I sometimes sit on a hot day.
It’s also a great cold-store for keeping wine and beer and horrible bones that a friend brings for my dog.
She brought me some bones in February and they have kept better than using a freezer!
Don’t buy a bigger refrigerator in future. Build yourself a grotto. Even if you only use it now and then. For a short period like a few days or weeks or a month or so.
And if you live near the sea or a river - you can just chuck bits of this and that in, knowing that something will feed on it. Don’t throw plastic carrier-bags in or shower curtains in the sea or river though because you could kill wild-life.

Is it only Metodo3, who I thought had been discredited yet who still, apparently, collect - what was it? - £50,000 a month? Or are there others we don’t know about on the payroll?
BTW: Heard the Clarence interview with John Gaunt (a bit late, I know). In that, CM seems to say there WAS a listening service at MW at PdL. but the parents decided to do their own checks.
This is just a bit odd IMO because a) it was established early on there was no listening service there, and b) soon afterwards there was so much fuss about Kate saying there wasn’t a service, etc etc and seeming to complain about it.

“In an ideal world there would have been a listening service but that wasn’t the case.”
It’s as if he can’t grapple with the idea that facts might be facts…
