Madleine McCann: Rachel Oldfield Knows, Doctors And Gerry McCann
MADDIE WATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann
DAILY MAIL: “Stop the carnival”
It’s Richard Littlejohn:
I’ve always been uneasy about the media carnival, but figured if that’s what got her parents through the night, what business was it of mine.
However, one year on, there’s something distasteful about the continuing round of claim and counter-claim, blame and counter-blame.
Gerry and Kate McCann should be left alone with their demons, with our sympathy, and not live out their guilt in public any longer. The police and the private detectives should be left to get on with their job.
The Tapas Seven, the McCanns’ PR man, the professional ghouls should all keep their theories to themselves.
And their opinions?
DAILY MIRROR: “Rachael Oldfield of the Tapas Seven breaks her silence over McCann’s torment”
Tapas Seven? And why speak now?
Rachael Oldfield, a 36-year-old recruitment consultant, said: “I was there on the night. I spent time with Gerry and Kate during the week before May 3 and after.
What happened?
“Their emotions and their reactions were just agonising. There’s just no way they were involved in anything to do with Madeleine’s disappearance.
“If you take the common sense approach and look at timings and the fact they are medics and there are four other medics in the group, they would know what to do to resuscitate a child.
Common sense? Doctors. Such are the facts.
“Anyone with an ounce of common sense would be able to see they couldn’t have done it. And I was there and I know they didn’t do it.”
DAILY STAR: “OUTRAGEOUS”
Rachel Oldfield has a pop at the Portuguese police, and complains about being bound by law to, er, keep quiet.
GLASGOW DAILY RECORD: “McCanns’ Anger At Being Kept In The Dark”
Says Gerry McCann: “I think it’s safe to say we’re getting very little information. We haven’t had any communication in terms of what’s been done in the investigation.”
“We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’ve always said we want to leave no stone unturned and to do that we need to know which stones have already been overturned.”
THE SUN: “Stop shifting blame, Kate”
IS it just me or are the McCanns getting on your nerves too?
It’s you. It’s them. It might be all of you.
Now, in a new TV documentary, Kate says that she wanted a baby monitor but the resort didn’t have one. So instead she, Gerry and the Tapas Seven made the bizarre decision to eat out every night and leave three young children home alone. I’m sorry, in any language that’s child neglect.
Sorry? Why is Gaunt sorry?
And, by the way, I’m not being heartless, just honest.
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “Madeleine McCann’s father: police gave up”
Mr McCann tells BBC Radio 4 interviewer Steve Kingstone: “We would like to know what is being done to find Madeleine. We’d like know who has been eliminated from the inquiry and on what grounds and what leads are still being followed.”

It was an excellent Stanley Kubrick film, HAL was an acronym I think for the
Computer which was in the Space Ship, but overrode the programme and had a mind of it”s own.

Hal was the renegade computer.
I still have nightmares about Hal speaking to Dave.

One more thing for the McCann’s supporters: The ones making more than 2 million pounds trademarking their missing daughter, were the McCanns. Talk about moral decay….

“Freedom of speech, democracy, dignity, morals are not empty words in Portugal.”
Some countries could take example!
I believe Amaral has been very shocked by Joana”s death and the sordid evidence around it.
In the end, they are purging a life sentence in jail.Amaral was too right. This is why he has been removed from Madeleine”s case and the rest of the PJ KNOWS it.
Un abrazo

RETIREMENT
In spite of being near to the retirement, accumulating 38 years of service - 26 in the police force plus eight more years of military service added of 20 % of bonus - Gonçalo Amaral risks being punished with the publication of the book. Even in the retirement, the inspector has an obligation to carry out the disciplinal regulation of the police.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So Amaral signed up when he was 10 years old, that’s on par for the accuracy of that particular rag.
can you read G? :” plus eight more years of military service added of 20 % of bonus “, he didn’t do the 8 years those are added to the years in service.

xklamation,
Who is there to say that what the book will reveal is the truth? I personally don’t hold Amaral in very high esteem and he could be saying anything he likes in his book. It could be a web of factual and some not so factual events/circumstances. As a police officer, whether he was removed from the case or not, all his files must be known to the current investigators, therefore, whatever he will write in the book, would be known to the PJ now. Has this brought anybody to justice yet? No.
Daisy do you know Mr. Amaral personally? Or are you judging him for what you read the british tabloids- aka gutter press aka mccann’s media? What do you know about him, the Judiciary Police or the system of Justice in Portugal?
I’ll give you my opinion regarding the book ‘Truth of the Lie’ – ‘Verdade da Mentira’.
“It is going to explain the whole lie that was created and to put in question the institutions that investigated and that are connected to the case ”
The fact is that the Judiciary Police Organic (Structural) Law took almost 2 years to be promulgated after it was approved at the “Concelho de Ministros” - ‘Ministries Council’(don’t know if I can translate like this), that huge delay undermined and affected greatly the work of the PJ.
It was passed at 10th April 2008 with the votes of the PS (socialist party) only.
The law in itself would and will close some of the Police departments, like the DIC in Faro, and others in Portugal.
Some elements like Paulo Rebelo, Gonçalo Amaral even asked for their resignations as PJ Chief inspectors and coordinators of Portimão’s DIC as a way to express that they were not pleased.
The Judiciary Police, though it has a union - ASFIC - lead by Carlos Anjos are not allowed to go on strike.
Last time (21 april 1989/ PSD - right wing government) Police Officers tried to go on strike, one of the most horrible situations happened. Police forces pro and anti strike met in Terreiro do Paço, a big square in Lisbon’s downtown, and a battle between them started, luckily no one pulled the guns, but there were lot’s of injuries because ’shock’ police forces appeared with dogs and water cannons. Horrible scenario, even now subsists some hatred between those who fought for the right to strike over poor conditions in the Police force, and those who attacked them.
The name of that fight is now remembered symbolically as the : “Secos e Molhados” - “Dry and Wet” day which the various Police unions now celebrate as a day never to be forgotten. A symbol for their fight.
see the video remembering that day after 17 years here
http://preview.tinyurl.com/4b6l5y
Another fact that Mr.Gonçalo Amaral is going to probably explore in his book is why Alípio Ribeiro, national PJ’s director who talked to the media was supported by Alberto Costa the Minister of Justice and not sacked like Gonçalo Amaral was “removed of Maddie’s investigation” and like Olegário de Sousa, the PJ’s PR was taken off the case for speaking “too much to the media”. There are more internal situations which would be hard to explain to foreigners but now maybe you understand a bit better the reason for the book. Freedom of speech, democracy, dignity, morals are not empty words in Portugal.
About the Cipriano case, and for those who defend neglectful parents: Why you defend child killers and paedophiles like Leonor and João Cipriano as well ? Did you know that Joana’s blood was found inside the freezer of the Cipriano’s house, in a T-Sirt, in another Shirt, in the sofa? Did you Know that it was confirmed by Laboratory analyses that some of Joana’s clothes (like her knickers) had traces of sperm and blood, that her bed had traces of sperm. That Leonor and João Cipriano were brothers and had sex with each other. That João Cipriano explained step by step how he carved Joana’s body and how they gave her body parts to the pigs (who eat everything). Did you Know? Or are you defending something which cannot be defended. Where is your moral, do you have ANY left? Can you imagine the SUFFERING OF A LITTLE GIRL BEING RAPPED AND SODOMIZED?

We have been going to the north, near Figueres, for years & years. Love the Catalan people (as with all Spanish) but a couple of years ago we went to the south & fell in love with the area, the people & of course the tapas! Bought an apartment 6 months later.
Went back to the north for a (spanish) friends baby’s christening last July & I immediately saw why I fell in love with south.
We have been amazed at how friendly & genuine the people are.
Sorry. Off topic!

To All
Questions have been raised as to whether recent posts from Noseycow are genuine or not.
I can tell you that Admin/Mods believe them to be so. The email address of said posts matches that of Noseycow and the IP address tells us these comments originate from Morroco where Noseycow is believed to be currently on holiday with a bunch of female friends. As it happens, the software we use to track IP addresses allows us to zoom in on a location - and the photographic evidence does indeed confirm that these recent posts are from Noseycow.
(Of course, being the gentleman that I am, I couldn’t possible tell you which of these lovely ladies is Noseycow herself)

I didn’t watch the programme - what does R. Oldfield sound like? J. Tanner certainly doesn’t sound upper crust, the McCs sound common, and Clarrie has a rough edge.

“Clarries voice on the LSE podcast is markedly more upper crust than his tv appearances; he was assuming that his audience would respond better that way”
Why would he assume his audience would respond better when he sounds so false

Yes, Chenier, unfortunately a lot of people have benefited financially and an innocent little girl is gone. I hope that the culprits one day rot in jail for ever, but that there are some kind relatives who will honor the little girl’s memory in some dignified way.
