Madeleine McCann: Sometimes We Feel Like Giving Up
“SOMETIMES WE JUST FEL LIKE GIVING UP” declares the Mirror “…but Maddie just keeps us going”.
The headline is not, as you might think, an anguished crie de coeur from the paper’s editors. It is, of course, a quote from Kate McCann. The legend at the top of the page reads: “McCANNS 1 YEAR ON”.
Other papers follow suit, with the Sun featuring a 12-page special and pin-up size pictures of “The face we will never forget”.
The Star eschews such tacky emotionalism and goes for a hard news story for its cover: “MUSLIM SICKOS’ MADDIE KIDNAP SHOCK.”
The paper says police are set to investigate a “vile attack on Madeleine McCann’s parents” by Muslim extremists.
What kind of attack? A suicide bomb, perhaps?
No. In a “hysterical rant” on the internet, “fanatics blame the couple for her disappearance”.
All very interesting. But what of the Star’s stablemate, the Maddy Express? What extravaganza are they offering for Day 365? A 28-page special?
Curiously, the front page is bereft of the face we will never forget. Perhaps Express Newspapers have issued a completely separate edition of the paper devoted entirely to all things McCann?
Nope. The newsagents’ shelves are bereft.
We jest, of course. The paper has, as you know, steered clear of the subject since being hammered in court for its scurrilous and exploitative coverage of the case. Coverage that included far from subtle insinuations that the Kate and Gerry McCann were implicated in their daughter’s disappearance. (Not to be confused, we hasten to add, with “hysterical rants” by “fanatics”.)
With no Maddy and no Diana, what is “THE WORLD’S GREATEST PAPER” to do?

My apologies, Val; you are quite right. The documentary was shot over 2 months. My point remains, however that there is not a bat in hell’s chance of someone with inside information providing it to the Sky forum.
And the key point about Ken Loach is that it is not Ken Loach who made the documentary. ITV and his daughter are trading on his name to get publicity.
Why does that feel familiar?

This has always interested me, how they could achieve the level of support from
influential people. The McCann”s might be professional people and Gerry is c onsidered knowledgeable in his field, also he is a Fundraiser for the Labour Party, but hardly “upper class” where they look after their own.
There”s a new name for Gerry, GMTV……..Gerry McCann TV.!!

Surely gerrys blog must be taken into account as evidence of what was said before the pj interviewed them! firstly the doors were locked and shutters jemmied, then the doors were unlocked, then there is no way maddie wouldnt have wandered off because she wouldnt have been able to open the door, which, by the way, was left open incase of fire!!!! Bloody liars!!!

All the family are coming out of the woodwork now to mark the first anniversary, not what gerry would have wanted to do mind, didnt he want a star studded concert to mark this anniversary, this was back in june last year! I think the two of them (mccanns) are a frigging joke. They left three infants on their own, in an apartment, after a day of swimming, foreign food, woozy and exhausted…….and went on a jolly that cost them one of their children…if she was abducted…..and yet they campaign for amber alert? what a joke.
The pair of them must have balls of steel to stand and campaign and thrust their beliefs down peoples neck, knowing they are only in the situation they are in because they pissed off down the tapas bar and left their two twins in the secure hands of their elder “motherly” sister…..ffs. Pass me a bucket. Feel sick to my stomach.
Someone solve this mystery quickly before I lose all faith in mankind.

Didn”t Gerry say they left the door unlocked? In which case Madeleine could have
propped a chair by the door to open it by the handle. It”s like they know no one can
touch them , remember, they have very able and expensive Lawyers who could shred
the evidence to bits.
I honestly don”t know what to believe, how much longer can the PJ stay silent? I read
somewhere that a decision has to be made Mid-May.

It maddie was abducted, which i doubt, if the vile two put as much effort in to looking for her as they do in raising their profile it would go a long way to convince me they are genuinely upset about her. But to learn that gerry was supping pints at a bar soon after she went missing, tennis lessons, and jogging, they want shot! imo of course!

I believe the documentary was shot over two months, hardly a Year! Emma Loach, the daughter of Ken loach is the director and a lot of the documentary deals with the visit
to Brussels, the visit to USA to talk to Ed Smart, interviews with Family and Friends
and probably footage of the complex etc and photographs, meeting with the Pope. In
fact, a lot of stuff we have seen before. Can”t believe it”s on for two hours!!!!

Quote from above : It has now emerged that Sir C Meyers Chairman of the Press Complaints Commission is married to a Lady Meyers who apparently is involved in the promotion of the Amber Alert System and supported the McCanns in their travels to Brussels.
I wonder if they knew these people before they the incident? Or have they cunningly infiltrated this circle just to be in the know about developments? Or are they part of the overall cover up provided by whatever organisation needs anonymity?

I am fine, getting a bit sick of all the spin on this case! Just been reading on all the comments and I am now so confused as to what is fact and what is spin in have a headache!
I see another “child” of 14 may have been approached by “maddie “”abducter”"…..almost a year to the day, when it all goes quiet….he timed it well….to raise interest again..how cynical am i!

3 minutes? The other theory is Madeleleine woke up, went walk about looking for her
parents, got as far as Reception and was snatched there. Also,further tests have
proved inconclusive. Also, months ago, the PJ went to a Judge to see if they could bring the case to Court and were told to find the body. Recently the Prosecutor turned
down a request for a trial on the grounds that all the evidence was inconclusive. This
was before the interviews by the way.
Maybe the McCanns know this and that is why they made the Documentary etc.
I just don”t know any more, the PJ MUST make a decision soon , you must admit it is taking a long time.

There was a safety gate at the top of the stairs, parents said she couldn’t open it, so she didn’t wander. If non existant abductor went in the patio doors, why claim the shutters had been broken ?

Isnt it strange that all these reported abductions are just attempted abductions are never successful, the abductee and the family is never named and all reports are to the infamous M3. Team Mccann just dont give up do they? Wouldnt their time be better spent at least letting us think that they are doing something to find Maddie?

I think he was the one who, contrary to all other reports, insisted that everyone was thinking in terms of ‘wandering off’ for the first few days - rather than abduction from the apartment……….and seemed to emphasise this after there had been much on-line speculation about the irrationality of the parents’ exclusive focus on ‘break-in and abduction’.
As to why they have stuck so ferociously to that………maybe as a cover just in case any awkward discoveries inside the apartment might need an explanation………..imho
