Madeleine McCann: Sometimes We Feel Like Giving Up
“SOMETIMES WE JUST FEL LIKE GIVING UP” declares the Mirror “…but Maddie just keeps us going”.
The headline is not, as you might think, an anguished crie de coeur from the paper’s editors. It is, of course, a quote from Kate McCann. The legend at the top of the page reads: “McCANNS 1 YEAR ON”.
Other papers follow suit, with the Sun featuring a 12-page special and pin-up size pictures of “The face we will never forget”.
The Star eschews such tacky emotionalism and goes for a hard news story for its cover: “MUSLIM SICKOS’ MADDIE KIDNAP SHOCK.”
The paper says police are set to investigate a “vile attack on Madeleine McCann’s parents” by Muslim extremists.
What kind of attack? A suicide bomb, perhaps?
No. In a “hysterical rant” on the internet, “fanatics blame the couple for her disappearance”.
All very interesting. But what of the Star’s stablemate, the Maddy Express? What extravaganza are they offering for Day 365? A 28-page special?
Curiously, the front page is bereft of the face we will never forget. Perhaps Express Newspapers have issued a completely separate edition of the paper devoted entirely to all things McCann?
Nope. The newsagents’ shelves are bereft.
We jest, of course. The paper has, as you know, steered clear of the subject since being hammered in court for its scurrilous and exploitative coverage of the case. Coverage that included far from subtle insinuations that the Kate and Gerry McCann were implicated in their daughter’s disappearance. (Not to be confused, we hasten to add, with “hysterical rants” by “fanatics”.)
With no Maddy and no Diana, what is “THE WORLD’S GREATEST PAPER” to do?

I personally think it was an accident, and a cover up. I really cant believe in the abduction theory, dont think it was premeditated as the stories would have been more rehearsed and no signs of lies between the t7. Everything they have done since has aroused my suspicion, i dont like them as people, granted only from media reports, but the big decider imo was when they flew off on tour and left the twins in the creche soon after maddie had disappeared, you would not do this if you thought that there was a predator about

The matter of corned beef, and what generally turns out as a hash. You have been in what is known as the “hopeless-zone of kitchen despair” and I am sorry to tell you there is no way out from the half-openened tin of corned beef situation without that wrist-slitting nano-second of clarity when healthy flesh is rent asunder by sharp tin. One of the problems with MWT’s latest effort apart from the obvious questions I put to Simon, is that he’s hanging his hat on the PJ not having followed up the opportunistic predator angle.
But they did.
Consider for example Joaquim Jose Marques.

I think this is what happened-and as I said last night the reason the Mccanns don’t want to admit this could be it -is a charge of negligence would surely follow-and/or their status, indeed their ability to practice as doctors would be seriously questioned.
hence the ‘confusion’ about doors open/doors shut-cuddle cat on the shelf/in the washing machine-whoops sorry couldn’t resist that/or in the bed. My 3 year old can open a safety gate at the top of the stairs-or climb over it-Maddy half asleep wouldn’t think about ‘mothering’ the twins-then again you could argue trying to find the parents is ‘mothering’…..

When Bendtner scored this evening. On one of the replay angles there was a little blonde girl standing with a dark skinned man with a moustache. She was wearing a red top. She was yelling “I want my daddy” at the Derby keeper. Though it could have been heard as “Who’s your daddy?”
Well she wouldn’t want to support Leicester City now, would she?
