   First off Carrie has always said she doesn’t condone destruction of private property and tells her audience that and that they should never destroy other people’s property….BHC was just meant to be a fun, humorous song nothing more. Second, Last Name is not condoning having a one night stand and then eloping but actually is making fun of such stupid behavior and how we do stupid things that we later regret. So in a way she is teaching others how stupid/foolish it is to do those things by saying she should take the pinto and hit the road but the problem is she doesn’t even know her last name. Carrie has a dry sense of humour and it comes out in her songs. It’s not her fault if you don’t get it or the message or take things too seriously. Plus, she is a country singer not a christian contemporary singer so her lyrics are going to fit more w/ than format, which is known to talk about life and life situations, like love, their dog, their truck, drinking, working, life struggles, God/faith, etc.

   Katie, I don’t think Christians should be working on being more open-minded when it comes to sin. It seems to me that there is far too much compromise when it comes to Christians today. We are called to pursue the holy life and as Christians we are to hold each other accountable. We must do this in love…..but we must do it. The biggest problem in Christianity today is that so many who call themselves Christians live no different than those who clearly are not Chritians. It can only mean one thing and that is that many who call themselves Christians “Are Not!”. I don’t know if Carrie Underwood is a Christian or not but I don know that much of her behavior does not set a Christian example or bring honor to our Lord.

   I think she’s got a wonderful smile. Good for her, smile of the year. But, let me ask. Why is it that people who see themselves as Christian find the need to preach to others on how they should behave. Do you believe everything the media conveys? Why are YOU judging her. As for a song “making” someone go and smash in an ex-boyfriends car, because carrie’s song says so. Doesn’t detract from the fact that those people who do bad things no right from wrong, a song or a movie can’t make you do anything. I’m tired of this generation not taking responsibility for themselves. Just because you sing a song that speaks of adultry or ex-boyfriends, doesn’t make you any less christian than the person who spends time blasting another persons character or questioning whether they are a true christian or not. Lets spend more time working on ourselves and less time working on others. We can’t change people, but we can work on being more open-minded and understanding towards others.

   MAYBE MILEY CYRUS AND CARRIE UNDERWOOD SHOULD THINK BEFORE THEY REPRESENT THEMSELVES AS ‘CHRISTIANS’ OR AT THE VERY LEAST AND BECAUSE THEY ARE IN THE PUBLIC EYE ADMIT WHEN THEY HAVE FALLEN SHORT, PEOPLE WOULD RESPECT THEM ALOT MORE IF THEY WERE TRULY HONEST… OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST HOLDS THOSE IN THE PUBLIC EYE WHO CLAIM TO BE A ‘CHRISTIAN’ TO A HIGHER STANDARD SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE INFLUENCING A MUCH GREATER AMOUNT OF PEOPLE AND IN THEIR CASES IT’S IN THE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS…………

   I have listened before to all of her songs and most are great and clean and sends a good-positive-loving-message. Although at my church alot of the congregation are asking me if Carrie is a “Christian” and I tell them yes as far as I know and from what I have read. Now if she truly is, then she should be ashamed of some of the songs that she has sung and or wrote, either way she sings them and they are played dozens of times on the radio. The first song she should be very ashamed about is: ( Before He Cheats-) it sends the wrong message to everyone to go and smash up your ex-boyfriends car if he cheats on you and it has been reported by various Police Departments that there have been some teenage idiots male and female that have already done this just because they heard this song and look up to Carrie. Now it is very wrong to cheat and commit adultry, but you move on and thats it, the old saying is true what comes around goes around…. The next song is:( Last Name-) what is she thinking singing a very sexually immoral song such as this, it just promotes screwing your brains out with drunken-loveless-sex and then going to Las Vegas to get Married and not because of love, but because of drunken stupidity, and it is ironic because in this song you say my “Mamma would be ashamed” well I have got news for you she’s not the only one… CARRIE, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN THIS ESPECIALLY IF YOUR A “CHRISTIAN” If your a Christian then act like one, and people wonder why Christianity has a bad name, its because of all the so-called hypocrites that call themselves Christians when truly they are not, you cannot get a little bit pregnant you either are or your not, make up your minds and get off the fence! You obviously do not care about your faith in “Christ” but you should at least care enough about the young girls who look up to you as a role model, but it’s clear you don’t……
